Hello everyone.

And welcome back to another lesson with me Miss Sidenius Today, I'm super excited to be going to the beach.

In this lesson, you're going to need three things, some pens and pencils, some paper, and some scissors.

Pause the video here, make sure you've got those three things and come back when you're ready.

Excellent, well done.

So have you ever been to the beach? Nod your head if you have.

Lots of us have been to the beach, when do you like to go to the beach? Tell your screen.

We like to go to the beach when the weather is warm, so we can play in the water to cool down and we can build sandcastles and eat ice cream at the beach, is really nice because the sea air keeps us cool.

And it's relaxing to watch the waves crashing in the water.

You may even like to get in the water with an adult and have a paddle with a float to cool you down on a hot day.

Like the beach is a really beautiful place.

So even when it's not warm, it can be really nice to go for long walks on the beach and watch the water and the waves.

When we go to the beach, often we'll try to go for a long time and we'll bring lots of things with us to keep us entertained and for us to eat at the beach.

Can you think of some things that you might take to the beach with you? Tell your screen.

I had so many good answers, I had bucket and spade for for building sandcastles, I had a towel for when you come out of the water and you need to dry yourself off, I had a ball that you can play with either on the sand or in the water, a sun hat to keep your head safe from burning in the sun, some sunglasses as well to keep your eyes say from the sun, and of course you always need to bring some sun cream with you to stop your skin from burning in the sun too.

So we've got some fun things that we can play with at the beach, some things to keep us safe from the sun, and I think we should bring some food as well to the beach.

Don't you think? So I'm going to write a list of things that I'm going to pack to bring with me to the beach.

I'm going to bring a towel so that I can dry off after I've been in the water.

Towel.

A towel.

And I need to bring some sun cream, sun cream, towel sun cream.

I think I'm going to bring a ball as well that I can play with, ball and some sunglasses as well.

We always liked to wear sunglasses at the beach.

Sunglasses and snacks as well.

Okay.

I've got quite a lot to bring with me, so I'm going to go and get those things and pack them in my bag.

Let's check.

And we can take them off as we go.

So the first thing on my list was a towel.

I've got my towel ready to go in my bag, put that in there.

And then I had some on sun cream, sun cream ready to go in my bag and I want to take a ball as well, let me find a ball.

Oh, it rolled away.

Got a ball I can take.

And I'm going to take a bucket so I can build a sandcastle when I get there, bucket as well.

Hmm, I don't have any snacks and I don't have any sunglasses.

And then I have to buy some snacks in the shop, when I get there, But I think I can make some sunglasses to take with me.

Pause the video here, pack your bag for the beach and come back when you're ready to make some sunglasses.

Great job, everyone.

I hope you've got your bags packed, ready for the beach.

Now we're going to make some really fun sunglasses to take with us.

I'm using some pink paper because I love the colour pink.

And I think they look really cool as pink sunglasses.

So I've got a candle and I'm drawing the bottom of it so that I can make the shape of my lenses, the lens of my sunglasses, because I find it quite hard to draw circles.

And this candle actually has a nice fun pattern for the shape of my sunglasses as well.

So going all the way round the edge there, and I'm going to lift it up and you can see, it already is starting to look like some sunglasses.

Now I need to do a circle on the inside so that it really looks like the lenses of sunglasses.

And I need a little bit in the middle to connect the two lenses of my sunglasses so that it can settle on my nose.

There we go.

Great.

So pause the video here, draw the outline of your sunglasses and come back when you're ready.

Well done everyone.

You've already done the outline.

Now it's time for us to decorate them with lots of fun, funky colours to wear to the beach.

I'm going in with some purple dots on my sunglasses, you might choose to do stripes or waves, you might choose to colour in the whole thing, it's up to you.

So I've got some purple dots going all the way around, and then I think I'll go back in with another colour as well afterwards.

What colours are you going to choose? Oh, I could hear so many different answers, I can't wait to see these colourful sunglasses and some purple dots in the middle.

Oh no, those are blue, I've got blue as well, purple and blue.

Pause the video here, start off decorating your sunglasses and come back when you're ready.

Great job everyone.

Now it's time to cut out our lenses.

Now you must always ask a parent or carer to sit me while you're cutting something, using scissors, just to make sure that you are safe and make sure that you always keep your hands really far away from the scissors so that you don't accidentally cut yourself.

If you think you're going to find it a bit tricky to cut out the sunglasses, you can always ask an adult or parent or carer to help you.

They are quite tricky to cut out because there are circle shapes.

So you have to keep turning the paper around to make sure it doesn't go near your fingers.

So we go all around the edges like this, and then I'm going to show you how you can actually cut out the middle as well, so that you can see out of your sunglasses.

That already starting to look really good.

And here we go around the other side and I'm actually, I'm staying quite far away from the edge because I don't want to accidentally cut some of my lens off.

It doesn't really matter if I go outside the edges.

There we go.

So now I'm going to show you how we cut out the middle part for sunglasses.

You just need to fold it down and do a tiny tiny cuts in the middle of the lens.

And then you can gently push your scissors through and cut around the edges here.

Again be really careful with this part and do ask an adult to help you if you're finding it tricky because it can been quite fiddly and tricky to do, and I'm going really slowly so that I don't accidentally make a mistake and cut my sunglasses in half, that wouldn't be any good.

So we go all the way around turning the paper as we go round.

Just like that.

There we go.

I'm going to cut the last bit off.

That's it.

Now I'm going to go ahead and cut out the other lens of mine.

And whilst I'm doing that, you can pause the video here and cut out your sunglasses.

Make sure that you press play when you're finished.

So now that we've cut out our sunglasses, we're going to add some more decoration if you want to.

I've actually got some sparkly gems here, but you might have some glitter or some stickers or you might find something else that you fancy sticking on as well.

If you don't want to add anything else, that's fine, you can keep your sunglasses just how they are.

I'm going to do some sparkly gem, so I've got silver, I've got some green gems as well, and even gold, some blue ones too.

So I'm going to stick these gems all the way around the edge of my lenses, on my sunglasses.

And the silver, the blue and the green actually kind of shine like the water, don't they? They look a bit like the colour of the sea.

I hope these are going to really shine in the sunshine as well, so they look extra sparkly.

So I'm just going to finish putting these all around both of my lenses, and then we can see what our sunglasses look like at the end.

Pause the video here add the rest of your decorations and come back when you're finished.

Well done everybody.

I hope you love your new sunglasses, just like I do.

I think I'm ready to go and enjoy these at the beach now.

I wonder, can you think of how I could make them even better? Can you think of a way that I could get them to stay on my face? If you can, see if you can make yours even better, like getting them to stay on your face as well.

I'm off to play in the sun now.

Have a great day at the beach, everyone.

Bye.
