Hi everyone, welcome to our seventh lesson in this unit with me, Miss Brittain.

In today's lesson, we're going to begin writing our discussion.

We'll start off with a nursery rhyme.

Then we'll recap our discussion using a box plan, and then we'll write the beginning introduction of our discussion.

You will need your exercise book or a piece of paper, a pencil, super imagination and memory and your teddy talk partner.

Before we begin today's lesson and for our nursery rhyme, I'd like to sing the song that we made up earlier on in the unit.

Do you remember our song from earlier on in the unit, Cedric? Oh don't worry that's okay, because I'll go for it again and then you can always join in afterwards.

Okay, so "I" is for introduction.

So in my introduction, I'm going to say I'm here to talk about Little Red Riding Hood and my sis and whether she should go in the woods alone.

The advantages.

The first reason she should is because gran is sick.

What's the second reason, children? Can you tell your screen the second reason? Great work everybody! It's because everybody else is busy except sis.

And the third reason that she should go is because.

Can you tell your screen? Great work! She's old enough now.

Our disadvantages.

The first reason Little Red Riding Hood doesn't want to go is because.

Can you tell your screens? Great work everybody! It's there's wolves out and it's dangerous.

The second reason, oh, what am I doing? I'm yawning because I'm.

brilliant! She's too tired and it's a long way.

And the third reason.

Great work! She might get lost.

And then my conclusion is that she should go to grandma's cause' she's sick but somebody should go with her to keep her safe.

And the first section of my writing today is number one.

I'm going to be writing, we're going to be writing, the introduction.

Now it's time to write our discussion.

But before we go any further, we need to look at some of our vocabulary and our words that we might use and these are my star words.

And whenever you do a unit with me, you'll find that star words are our keywords that we might use in our writing.

So I've got "going alone woods" and "talk." And we say them together, "going alone woods" and "talk".

Cause' they're all words you might use in your writing that you're not sure how to spell, so I'm giving you some star words, some key words.

And then also words that we might use are our high frequency words.

And I've got a little rhyme that helps us to remember our high frequency words that we just need to know them.

We can't sound them out.

We've just got to know them.

And these are words that we use in our writing all the time.

And they come up in our reading and writing all the time.

So we've just got to learn them.

So you ready, I've got "I" "want" "the" "on" "am" and "my." And we'll have a go at saying these.

We can't sound them out.

We've just got to know them.

We don't want to have to try and sound out high frequency words, we just want to know the spelling.

So you ready, my turn, "I." Your turn.

My turn, "want." Your turn.

My turn, "the." Your turn.

My turn, "my." Your turn.

My turn, "am." Your turn.

My turn, "on." Your turn.

One thing that I always like to remember when I'm writing sentences as well is my "show me five" poster.

And it's really useful when we're writing sentences to remember all the bits that a sentence needs to include.

So what does a good sentence need? Well, it needs number one, capital letters for names and for the beginning of my sentences.

Number two, clear finger spaces in between each of my words so that my writing is clear.

Number three, spellings and phonics.

And if there's any words I can't say, that I can't spell, I need to use my robot arms to sound them out and then blend them.

I say the word, robot the word, then blend the word and then I can write it.

Then full stops at the end of my sentence.

And then of course I need to check that my sentence makes sense.

Show me five, this is your first unit with me, but this will come up in all of the units with me.

Because it helps me to remember how to write my sentences.

And of course we've got our star words and our high frequency words if you need them at the bottom.

I am here to talk about my my high frequency word box sis going, which is one of my star words, into the woods.

Which is one of my star words.

On, high frequency word, her, which is a high frequency word we've looked at in previous lessons with me.

Own.

Full stop.

I am here to talk about my sis going into the woods on her own.

If you want to feel like you could do some more writing and you want to add to that to explain why she needs to go.

Or that you heard mom and sis arguing in the kitchen, then that is great.

If you feel like you want to stop there, that's absolutely fine too.

Just well done if you had a go at writing.
