And we are going to get ready to do some super maths learning today.

Now, today, we're going to be looking a little bit more deeply at the number eight.

All right, if you're ready to get started, let's see what materials you're going to need to get ready.

For today's lesson, you're going to need some counting objects, so I'm going to use cubes, but you might ask a parent or carer what items you could use at home.

You're also going to need number cards, one to eight, you can find these in the downloadable resources, but don't worry, if you don't have a printer, you could write the numbers down on a piece of paper and have your parent or carer help you cut them out.

And then finally, you're going to need some picture cards, again, you can find these in the resources or you can just look at them up on the screen.

All right, pause the video, go get everything you need and let's begin.

So, I thought we could start with a little bit of a counting game and we know who loves counting games, well, it's Harold, the hedgehog, he loves a good counting game.

So what we're going to do is, I'm going to call out a number and we want you to clap the same number with your hands, okay, so, if I called it the number three, then Harold would clap his hands one, two, three times.

All right, okay, so I'm going to call out a number and then you're going to clap it, are you ready, seven.

Way to go everyone, all right, let's try clapping one more number, are you ready, four.

Well done, did you do four claps, okay.

Let's do one, one, one, one more, all right, can you clap for me zero times, Did you had to do no claps, that I thought I was trying trick you.

So if we've got zero, that means no times zero claps, well done, everyone, all right.

So we're going to play a number matching game, so Harold and I are going to flip over two cards and we're going to see what numbers we can see, if they're a match, we can keep them as a pair, if they're not, we'll turn them back over and see if we can find another match.

Are we ready everyone, all right, here we go, all right, what number have we got in here, let's count the dots, one, two, three, four.

All right let's flip over another one and see if we can get the same, all right, do we have the same number with this card, why not, what number is shown here, that's right, there's only two dots, so we don't have a match.

Let's have another go, all right, this time let's slip over this one here, all right, let's count the dots this time, okay, one, two, three, four, five, we've got five on this card.

Let's flip over another one, all right, well, these look different, so I know it's definitely not five.

What do you mean Harlod, they don't look the same, the dots, they look different, what do you think, does this card have the same amount of dots as the other one above it.

Wow, oh, that really tricked me because it looks different, let's count to make sure one, two, three, four, five, it also has five dots, it's a match, so even though the dots are in different places on the card, it's still represents five because it's got five dots, well, then we found a match, Harold, well done.

All right, let's have one more go so we've got one, two, three dots, and I flipped over this card, can you pause the video and tell us if we've got a match, if you've counted them ,ready? Well done, if you said they're not to match, you are right, because the top card is showing four dots and the bottom card is showing three, all right.

We want you to have a go at playing this game for your Talk Task, so what you're going to do is you're going to find these dot resource cards in the downloadable resources, but don't worry if you don't have a printer, you could just match them up on the screen.

So, we want you to try and find the matching numbers of dots and you could use the sentence seen below saying there are four dots on this card, and there are four dots on this card, the number of dots are the same, or if you pick up two cards that are different, you would say the number of dots are different, all right.

Have a go at playing this game and then we'll come back together, make sure you pause the video to give yourself enough time.

Okay, so Harlod is going to pick a new number for me on our number track, all right, which number Harold, all right, I like that number as well.

Harlod said number three, he chose from the number track, so I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to use my counting objects, my cubes, to build the number three.

All right, can you help me count as i build it, ready, one, two, three, I'm representing the number three with my three cubes.

Ooh, and here is my second challenge now, I need to try and find the number three in the images that have come up.

Can you put on your Superman goggles or get out your Superman telescope and see if you can find something that shows the number three in the pictures, if you need to, you can pause the video for a minute.

All right, well done, if you pointed to the trees, you're right, there are one, two, three trees which represent the number three.

All right, next, I need to spot what the number three looks like as a number and as a word.

I wonder what might help me spot it, Well, if I go back to the beginning, if I find number one and count on that might help me find it.

Let's start at one and see if we can find a number three card everyone, here we go, one, two and three, there it is.

I know it's three because there are three dots, one, two, three, all right, so I found my number three.

All right, so, I have completed my task, I needed to build number three, I chose number three from my number line, then I built it using my counting objects, I matched it to the picture and then I matched it to the number and the words.

So, now, we would like you to have a go at doing the same thing for your Main Task, you need to get the number cards, one to eight from the resources, or again, you can make them with the parent or carer and have them help you cut them out.

We're also going to need to choose a number from the number track from one to eight, and you need to make sure that you represent it with your counting objects.

So if you choose the number seven, you need to get seven counting objects and build it together to show seven, then you're going to go need to find the pictures in the worksheet and find what picture matches the number seven, then you're going to need find the matching number card.

So, if you're ready to begin, you can pause the video and we'll come back together, when you're finished.

Well done, everyone, how did you get on with matching the numbers up with the pictures, were you able to use some counting objects to represent each of the numbers, what picture represented the number eight, what were they a picture of, that's right, they were picture of bottles, well done.
