I hope you enjoyed that song and maybe you can find some ways to add to our song with numbers from six up to 10, you can practise and maybe you can sing it to this a bit later.

Now, let's have a look.

Do you know what objects I'm holding? Do you know what they're called? Shout it out to the screen if you do.

They're called dominoes.

We're going to play a little game with the dominoes now.

Close your eyes, and I'm going to put a domino on the screen.

When you open them, you can shout out the number of dots that you can see on the left side of the domino.

Are you ready? Close your eyes.

And open them.

How many dots can you see? Shout it out when you know.

Six.

Let's count them.

One, two, three, four, five, six.

I use my careful counting finger.

You can see two rows of three here that make number six.

There are six dots on the domino.

Close your eyes.

And open them.

How many dots can you see now on the left side of the domino? Shout out when you know.

Five.

One, two, three, four, five.

There are five dots on the left side of the domino.

Excellent.

And I've got one more here.

This one's a little bit different.

There are going to be two groups of dominoes on here.

Count how many you can see on each side.

How many spots can you see on each side of the dominoes? There are two sides here.

How many on each side? Shout it out when you know.

Two lots of four.

Let's count them.

There are two groups of four.

One, two groups of four.

That's called double four when you're paying dominoes.

Now let's have a look at what our learning is today.

So we're going to be learning to count objects up to 20.

For our learning today you are going to need 20 objects for counting and a container.

I've got my container here and my 20 objects for counting, which is 20 pencils.

You're also going to need, oh, a number line up to 20.

You can make one, if you haven't got one.

Ask a grown up to help you.

Now that you've got your objects for counting and your number line, you are ready for today's learning.

Let's take a look at our star words that we're going to be using today.

They're numbers.

I wonder if you recognise some of them? Are you ready? You can say them after me.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.

And here are the words.

More, fewer, order.

Those are our star words for today.

Now I hope you've got your careful counting finger ready.

I've got mine.

Can you show me yours? Great.

You're going to need that now to do some careful counting.

Take a look at my picture.

I've got some questions to ask you.

Let's see if you can do some counting.

How many blue bowls can you see in the picture? How many blue bowls can you see in the picture? Use your careful counting head and careful counting fingers to count them.

Shout the answer out to the screen when you know.

Shall we use careful counting to check the answers? I'm going to use mine.

There's some circular plates and some square plates over here.

But we just want to count the circular plates.

How many yellow circular plates can you see in the picture? Use careful counting and shout the answer out to the screen when you're ready.

Let's count them together.

I can hear lots of you shouting out the answer.

Now it's time to use our objects.

I've got mine, my 20 objects, my 20 pencils in my container.

Now let's see.

You can help me do some careful counting with them.

Going to have one more go, remembering to touch each object as I say each number.

Going to use our number line to help us answer some questions.

On my number line there are numbers from zero all the way up to 20, and I have 20 pencils.

Now I've got a question for you.

But in order to answer it, you're going to have a go at counting your objects out in front of you.

Now, I hope you've got your number line in front of you too.

Now we can answer some questions.

My first question is, what number is one more than 10? What number is one more than 10? We can use our objects to help us.

We can count up to 10 and then find the number that's one more.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10.

One more than 10 is 11.

One more than 10 is 11, and I've got my finger on number 11 here.

We can also use our number track to help us.

We can find number 10 and jump one more.

And one more than 10 is 11.

Great.

I've got another question.

What is two less than 12? Two less than 12? Do you know? See if you can count 12 of your objects and then find two less.

Find the amount that is two less.

So first you need to find and count up to 12 objects, and then find out how many there will be if there's two less.

And we can use our number line to help us.
