Hello everyone, and welcome to today's maths lesson.

To help get us started.

I've got some pencils here.

How many pencils do I have? That's the question.

Do you think you could help me count them onto the table? Great.

Let's have a go.

You can count them with me.

Are you ready? One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

Six.

Seven.

Eight.

Nine.

10.

11.

There are 11 pencils on the table.

Give yourself two claps for helping me to count.

Great.

Now let's have a look at our pencils.

We can show 11 in a different way.

Let's see how we can do that.

First I need to count out 10.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

Six.

Seven.

Eight.

Nine.

10.

There are 10 pencils in my bundle.

What I'm going to do now is put an elastic around my bundle.

And now I know that there are 10.

Let's put them back on my table.

10.

One more than 10 is 11.

10, 11.

I've got a question for you.

What would happen if I put one more pencil down onto the table? How many pencils would there be? We have 11 pencils.

How many pencils would there be if I add one more pencil onto the table? Shout the answer out to the screen if you know.

Right.

There would be 12.

Let's add it.

There we go.

We know that there are 10 in this bundle.

10.

11.

12.

Well done everyone.

Great counting.

Give yourselves two claps.

Now, let's move on to today's new learning.

For today, we're going to be developing a set of the number 10.

For today's learning you are going to need 10 objects and two containers.

10 objects and two containers.

Have a look at my objects.

I've got some different ones in my bowl.

That's fine.

You can choose any containers that you like.

So press pause now to go and get your 10 objects and your two containers and I'll see you in a bit.

Welcome back everyone.

Now that you have got your 10 objects for counting and your two containers, you are ready for today's learning.

Let's have a look at our star words for today.

You can say them after me.

Are you ready? One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

Six.

Seven.

Eight.

Nine.

And 10.

I also have a few more star words for today's learning.

Can you say them after me.

More.

Less.

Fewer.

How many.

The most.

Well done everyone.

Give yourself two pats for great repeating.

Amazing.

Now, let's have a look at our objects.

I've got mine in my hand.

I'm going to count them out onto the screen.

You can count with me.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

Six.

Seven.

Eight.

Nine.

10.

There are my 10 objects on the screen.

How can we sort them? Can you think of how I can sort my 10 objects? Oh, it's all right.

I've got a little friend here.

It's Reggie.

Oh Reggie has an idea of how I can sort my 10 objects.

Let's have a look.

Reggie says that I can put all of the red things in one bowl and all of the other things in another bowl.

Let's have a look.

This one's red, and this one is red.

This one is not red and that goes in here.

This one is not red.

Not red.

Not red.

Not red.

This one is red.

This one is red.

And this one is orange.

And there we have it.

Sorted my bowls into my objects that are red and my objects that's are not red.

Have look at my two bowls.

One is blue and one is yellow.

Which bowl has the most amount of objects in it.

Shout your answer out to the screen if you know.

I can hear some of you saying the yellow bowl has the most objects in it.

How many objects are in the yellow bowl? Do you know? Shout your answer out to the screen when you do.

I can hear some of you shouting the answer.

Let's check.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

Six.

There are six objects in the yellow bowl.

See if I could put number six underneath here.

I hope you can see it.

Great.

If there are six objects in my yellow bowl, how many objects are there in the blue bowl? How many objects are there in the blue bowl? So we had 10 objects to begin with.

There are six subjects in the yellow bowl.

How many objects are in the blue one? Shout the answer out to the screen when you know.

I can hear some of you shouting out the answer.

Let's count them together.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

There are objects in the blue bowl.

Four objects in the blue bowl.

There we have it.

I split my 10 objects into objects that are red and objects that are not red.

There are six objects that are not red and four objects that are red.

Thank you for your help everyone.

Now, I'm going to put my objects back into one bowl.

So I've tipped them all back in to the yellow bowl.

How else can I sort my objects? Let's take a look.

Can you tell me how else I can store my objects? Shout your answer out to the screen when you know.

Oh, Reggie's got a suggestion.

Let's see if you can guess how Reggie think we should sort the objects? I'm going to put my two bowls back here.

Remember there are 10 objects now in the yellow bowl and zero objects in the blue bowl.

Reggie's told me to sort them like this.

Okay.

Let's put these here.

And there we have it.

Can you guess how I've sorted my objects? Shout the answer out to the screen if you know.

Right.

I can hear some of you saying it.

Here are my blocks for building with and here are the pompoms for making arts and craft pictures.

Blocks for building and pompoms for making arts and craft pictures.

I've sorted my 10 objects into two bowls.

How many objects are in each bowl? How many objects are in each bowl? Which bowl looks like it has more? Or do they look like they have the same? Let's have a look.

The yellow bowl has one.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five objects.

The yellow bowl had five objects.

So if we had 10 objects and the yellow bowl has five objects, how many objects do you think there are in the blue one? Shout your answer out to the screen if you know.

Let's check.

There are five objects in the yellow bowl.

Can you see? One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

There are five objects in the blue bowl.

Five, five, make 10.

Great counting everyone.

Now it's your turn.

What I would like you to do is get your 10 objects and see if you can sort your objects into two bowls.

How will you sort them? When you've done that, have a look.

Which ball has more and which ball has less? Then you can count how many are in each one.

Just to check.

Have a go at doing that and I'll see you in a bit.

Welcome back everyone.

Did you sort your objects into two bowls? Did you find out which bowl has more and which bowl has less? Did you count how many there are in each one? Give yourself two pats on the back for doing great counting.

Well done.

Now, it's your turn again to have another go at sorting your objects in a different way.

Have a go and I'll see you again next time.

You can practise sorting your objects in many different ways.

And remember, well done, keep up the good work.
