Hello everyone? It's great to see you.

I hope you've been practising all of your counting skills.

Well, five minutes ago, i went into my fridge to see if I could count how many eggs I have left.

This is what I saw.

How many eggs do I have left? Shout me out throughout to the screen if you know.

I could hear a lot of you saying the answer.

I don't have any eggs left.

There are zero eggs left in my egg carton, because my friend Reggie, ate them all.

How many eggs did Reggie eat? Can you see? Can you count them? Shout the answer out to the screen, if you know how many eggs Reggie ate.

I can hear a lot of you shouting out the answer.

Let's count them together.

I'm going to use my careful counting finger, and you can count with me too.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12.

Reggie ate 12 eggs.

He must've been hungry.

We can also count how many eggs Reggie ate in twos.

Now for today's learning, we are going to be investigating number combinations within 20.

Here are the things that you're going to need.

You will need a number line, it goes all the way from zero up to 20.

You'll need some number cards that go from zero all the way up to 20.

You will need 20 small objects for counting, I'm using pennies, but you can use any objects that you've got from your house.

If you've got some pennies too, that would be great.

And you also need four small bowls or containers for sharing new objects into.

Lets pause now to go and get those things and I'll see you in a bit when you're ready.

Now that you've got all of your objects that you need for today's learning, we are ready to start.

Let's take a look at the star words for today.

I'm going to point to them and you can say them off to me.

Are you ready? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.

And the final star word for today is groups.

That's great everyone.

Now, let's take a look our objects.

I've got my 20 here see if you can see them.

20 pennies , in my bowl.

I'm going to share them between four containers.

Hold on, instead of using containers, I'm going to use something else.

Let's see if you know what it is.

There's this one, Do you know what it's called? Shout the answer out to the screen if you do.

Great , it's a picture of a purse.

So here's one, two, three, four.

I have four, pictures of purses here on my table.

We are going to focus on this number here.

Do you know what it is? Shout out to the screen if you do.

16, number 16.

I'm going to count 16 of my pennies, on to the purses.

Am going to share them onto each purse, just like this, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.

There we have it.

I have shared, 16 pennies into each of my four purses.

I've got a question for you.

How many , pennies are in each purse? Take a look.

How many pennies are with each purse? Shout the answer up to the screen if you know.

I can hear some of you shouting out the answer.

Let's count them to check, one, two, three, four pennies in the first purse.

One, two, three, four pennies in the second purse.

One, two, three, four pennies in the third purse.

And one, two, three, four pennies in the fourth purse.

They're four pennies in each purse.

We have shared 16 pennies, into four purses, and there are four pennies in each one.

I've got another question for you.

Of all the pennies, the same amount in each purse, does each purse have the same amounts of pennies or different amounts of pennies? Shout out the answer out to the screen when you know it, I can hear some of you shouting out the answer.

Now, here's what we're going to do.

I'm going to put all of my 16 pennies, back into my container.

So we have empty purses all over again.

I wonder? Can we share our pennies in a different way, between the four purposes? Let's take a look, this time , I'm going to put, two pennies, into the first purse, and then I'm going to share the rest of my pennies into the other three purses.

So remember we are still sharing , 16.

So, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.

Put the last one up there.

There we are, I've shared, 16 pennies, in between , my four purses, see if you can see then all, there we are.

I've got a question for you, how many pennies are in each purse? How many pennies are in each purse? See if you can count them? How many pennies in the first purse? Shout you out throughout to the screen if you know.

Great, and how many pennies in the second purse? Can you shout the answer again for me? Fantastic counting everyone.

How many pennies are in the third purse? Count them and shout your answer out.

Great, and how many pennies are in the last purse? Count them and then shout your answer out again.

Fantastic, let's do it together.

The first purse has two.

The second purse has one, two, three, four, five.

The third purse has one, two, three, four, five, six, and the fourth person has one, two, three.

There we are, we have shared, 16 pennies again into four purses in a different way.

Two in the first one, five in the second one, six in the third one and three in the fourth one.

Now, that is great sharing.

I've got a question for you.

Let's see if you can do this.

Can you put your four bowls of your four contains in front of you and count out 16 of your work dates.

Can you find a different way to share them? A different way, to the way I've shared them here.

In our first purse, we had, two pennies, you know second purse, we had, five pennies, you know, third purse we had, six pennies, and in our fourth purse we had, three pennies.

Our first purse we had our two, our second purse we had five pennies, our third purse we had six pennies and in our fourth purse we had three pennies.

You can record your answers, just like that too.

Have a go at sharing some other amounts of objects into your four containers.

Have a go at sharing, 14 of your objects into your four containers.

How many different ways can you share them? Then you can try all the numbers when you've finished.
