Hello everyone.

It's Miss Doherty again.

Today we are going to write persuasively.

In this lesson you will need, an exercise book or paper, a pencil and of course, your brain.

You can pause the video now while you go and get those items. We are going to start our lesson by singing a nursery rhyme.

Then we'll play a game and we'll finish with a writing challenge.

We are going to sing "10 in a Bed".

Get your fingers ready.

♪ There were 10 in a bed and the little one said ♪ ♪ Roll over.

♪ Let's play a game.

We are going to play a game of spot the difference.

I would like you to look very closely at me on the screen.

You ready? Now, in a moment, the video is going to change And there will be five differences in my appearance.

Appearance means the way I look.

Are you ready? Can you spot the differences? Pause the video while you try to find all five.

The first difference that I can notice is I am wearing a birthday rosette and I wasn't wearing one before.

The second difference is that I am wearing a lanyard and I wasn't wearing one before.

The third difference is that I am not wearing my headband and I was wearing one before.

The fourth difference, ah, where has it gone? Is that I'm not wearing the earing I was wearing before.

There is one more difference and I think this is the hardest one.

I wonder if any of you at home have noticed it? My necklace is under my jumper and it was on top of my jumper where you can see it.

Well done if you spotted all of those.

We are going to write a sentence for one of our sections.

Don't worry if you weren't in a previous lesson.

You can use mine on the screen.

Or if you were in one of our previous lessons, you will have your own boxed up version of the persuasive piece.

Now, in the introduction, I asked How you hungry now? Have you ever been hungry? Of course you have.

Well I have the product for you.

And I'm going to take part of that section and I'm going to write it.

The section I'm going to write is this.

Well I have a product for you.

Well I have a product for you.

Now what techniques do we use when we're writing? We say the word, robot the word, write the word.

Can you say that with me? We say the word, robot the word, write the word.

Well I have a product for you.

So the first word is 'well'.

Say the word 'well'.

W, e, ll.

Well.

I am going to write the word.

W, e, ll.

and to make that ll sound at the end of well, we need two L's to make 'll'.

Next word is 'I'.

That's a word we just have to know.

Well I, oopsie, well I, well I have.

Hmm.

Have is another word we just have to know.

H.

A.

V.

E.

Spells have.

Fantastic.

Well I have.

Now I have made a couple little mistakes there with my handwriting.

I accidentally drew a dot here and that 'E' isn't quite on the line.

I'm sure you can do better than that.

I do find it quite tricky to write on the computer.

Well I have 'a'.

A is a really simple word because it's just the letter A that makes the 'a' sound in lots of words.

By itself, it is the word A.

Well I have a product.

This is a tricky one.

Let's say it together.

Product.

Robot the word.

P, r, o, d, u, c, t.

Product.

Well done.

Product.

P, r, o, d, u, c, t.

Product.

Well I have a product for F, or.

For.

Well I have a product F, o, r.

For.

Well I have a product for you and you is another word we just have to know.

Y O U spells you.

Fantastic.

We'll stop.

Let's read our sentence.

Well I have a product for you.

Now, what I would like you to do, is in a moment, you're going to pause the video and write a sentence for one of the sections.

If you find writing a sentence quite simple you can write lots of sentences.

Have a look at either your own boxing up from one of our previous lessons or have a look at my box ups section on the screen and you can keep this one the screen when you pause the video.

Hmm what sentences could you write? You could write the ingredients.

You could write its made with love and lots of care.

You could write it costs 500 pounds.

You could write it's the best in the world.

Have a little think about what you're going to write.

Pause the screen now to complete your task and resume when you're finished.

Make sure you've read your writing back to check it.

Earlier, we sang "10 in a Bed".

I'm going to teach you a new song I have made up, that reminds us how to persuade.

♪ There were five in a bed and the little one said ♪ ♪ I'll persuade you.

I'll persuade you.
