Hello everyone, it's Ms. Doherty, today we're going to explore a recounted piece through song.

In this lesson you will need an exercise book or paper and your pencil.

Pause the video while you go and get those items. Have you got your exercise book or paper and your pencil? Now there isn't a picture of the brain on the screen but that doesn't mean we won't be working hard and thinking a lot.

Let's warm those brains up.

We're going to start today's lesson by singing a nursery rhyme, then we'll sing the piece and finally, we'll complete a drawing challenge.

I hope you're ready.

Meet Amy, say hello Amy.

Hello! Amy's going to be doing some singing with us.

We're going to sing a song to the tune of Hickory, Dickory, Dock.

Do you know Hickory Dickory Dock? Amy do you? We better teach Amy Hickory Dickory Dock.

Are you ready to listen Amy? ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ The mouse ran up the clock ♪ ♪ The clock struck one, the mouse ran down, ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock ♪ Can you do that with us Amy? ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ The mouse ran up the clock ♪ ♪ The clock struck one, the mouse went down ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock ♪ Now, I have started to think of a new song to the tune of Hickory Dickory Dock and I've just made it up.

And I thought it would be fun for us to sing it together.

The first line goes like this.

♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ The bears went out for a walk ♪ Can you try? ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ The bears went out for a walk ♪ Well done.

And the second line goes like this.

♪ Goldilocks popped in and ate the porridge ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ Your turn.

♪ Goldilocks popped in and ate the porridge ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ Are we ready for the next line? ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ Next she sat in the chair ♪ Can you try that? ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ Next she sat in the chair ♪ Well done and the next bit.

♪ The chair broke up, she fell on the floor ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ Your turn.

♪ The chair broke up, she fell on the floor ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ She fell asleep in the bed ♪ You try.

♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ She fell asleep in the bed ♪ ♪ The bears came back and woke her up ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ Your turn.

♪ The bears came back and woke her up ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ Well done.

♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ She ran away as fast as she could ♪ Now you try that bit.

♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ She ran away as fast as she could ♪ And the last line.

♪ The little bear was sad ♪ ♪ Because the little girl was bad ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock, tick tock ♪ Let's try that.

♪ The little bear was sad ♪ ♪ Because the little girl was bad ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock, tick tock ♪ Fantastic.

Should we try putting that all together and singing it all the way through? I think so.

♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ The bears went out for a walk ♪ ♪ Goldilocks popped in and ate the porridge ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ Next she sat in the chair ♪ ♪ The chair broke up, she fell on the floor ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ She fell asleep in the bed ♪ ♪ The bears came back and woke her up ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock ♪ ♪ She ran away as fast as she could ♪ ♪ The little bear was sad ♪ ♪ Because the little girl was bad ♪ ♪ Hickory Dickory Dock, tick tock ♪ Fanatic, well done, thank you for joining in with that nursery rhyme.

Now, we're going to carry on singing and we're actually going to sing the recount piece.

Hmm, now you might think, "But, Ms. Doherty, we've just sang the story." Well we have sang the story but that wasn't from the point of view of baby bear.

And our recount was from the point of view of baby bear remembering what had happened and telling what had happened.

So, I'm going to teach you a slightly different song, actually a very different song about the same day, about the same story.

But a recount from baby bears point of view.

I'm going to sing a line, then you're going to sing a line.

♪ Oh she walked in my cottage ♪ ♪ Oh she walked in my cottage ♪ ♪ And she went to the table ♪ ♪ And she went to the table ♪ ♪ And she ate my porridge ♪ ♪ Oh she ate it all up ♪ ♪ And she ate my porridge ♪ ♪ Oh she ate it all up ♪ ♪ And that's not right, no, that's not right ♪ ♪ She ate my porridge ♪ ♪ And she ate it all up ♪ ♪ Oh, that's not right, no, that's not right ♪ ♪ She ate my porridge ♪ ♪ And she ate it all up ♪ ♪ And she went to my chair ♪ ♪ And she sat in my chair ♪ ♪ And she broke it all up ♪ ♪ Yeah, she broke it all up ♪ ♪ And she went to my chair ♪ ♪ And she sat in my chair ♪ ♪ And she broke it all up ♪ ♪ Yeah, she broke it all up ♪ ♪ And that's not right, no, that's not right ♪ ♪ She sat in my chair ♪ ♪ And she broke it all up ♪ ♪ And that's not right, no, that's not right ♪ ♪ She sat in my chair ♪ ♪ And she broke it all up ♪ ♪ Then she went to my bedroom ♪ ♪ And she lay in my bed ♪ ♪ And she went to sleep, yeah, she went to sleep ♪ ♪ Then she went to my bedroom ♪ ♪ And she lay in my bed ♪ ♪ And she went to sleep, yeah, she went to sleep ♪ ♪ And that's not right, no, that's not right ♪ ♪ Well she laid in my bed ♪ ♪ And she went to sleep ♪ ♪ And that's not right, no, that's not right ♪ ♪ Well she laid in my bed ♪ ♪ And she went to sleep ♪ ♪ Then we caught here there ♪ ♪ Yeah, we caught here there ♪ ♪ We found her sleeping and we woke her all up ♪ ♪ We found her there ♪ ♪ Yeah, we found her there ♪ ♪ We caught her sleeping and we woke her all up ♪ ♪ 'Cause that's not right, no, that's not right ♪ ♪ What the little girl did ♪ ♪ No, that's not right ♪ ♪ 'Cause that's not right, no, that's not right ♪ ♪ What the little girl did ♪ ♪ No, that's not right ♪ ♪ Well she jumped up and ran ♪ ♪ Yeah, she jumped up and ran ♪ ♪ Oh, she jumped up and ran right out of the house ♪ ♪ Well she jumped up and ran ♪ ♪ Yeah, she jumped up and ran ♪ ♪ Oh, she jumped up and ran right out of the house ♪ ♪ Oh, that's not right, no, that's not right ♪ ♪ What the little girl did ♪ ♪ No, that's not right ♪ ♪ Oh, that's not right, no, that's not right ♪ ♪ What the little girl did ♪ ♪ No, that's not right ♪ Let's draw and label the setting.

Hmm, what settings are there in the recount? Baby bear does talk about going for a walk in the woods.

Baby bear also talks about coming home to the cottage and then talks about the inside of the cottage.

I think I'm going to draw a picture of the cottage.

Now you can spend a little bit more time on this so your drawing might be better than mine.

Draw some trees around.

Because we know that the little cottage is in the middle of the deep, dark, green forest, don't we? Now once you've finished your drawing and yours will look lots better than mine because you will have spent more time on it, we're going to add some labels.

Hmm, what can we see that we could add a label to? What's this part of the cottage called? This is called the roof.

Say the word, roof.

Robot the word, rh, ooh, ff, roof.

Let's write the word.

Rh, ooh, and that "ooh" sound is made with two O's.

Fff.

Let's read it to check.

Rh, ooh, ff, roof, well done, that's the roof.

What else can you see? What else can we see in our picture that I could label? I've labelled the roof, I could also label.

The window.

Let's label the window.

Say the word, window.

Robot the word, wuh, eh, nnn, duh, oh, window, fantastic.

Wuh, eh, nnn, duh, oh, now there are lots of ways of making that O sound and in window, it's an O with a W.

Which is different to lots of other words, window.

So we've labelled the roof and the window.

Now it's your turn to draw and label a setting.

You're going to choose a setting from the story, it might be the woods, it might the cottage, could be the kitchen, the living room, the bedroom.

And then you're going to draw a picture of it and label it.

You're going to label as many parts as you can and remember, when we're writing, we say the word, robot the word, write the word.

Pause the video now to complete your task.

Thank you so much for all your hard work today.

We loved singing with you.

Bye, bye!.
