Hello everyone it's Miss Doherty in today's lesson we're going to listen to and join in with a recount.

You will need your brain and your listening ears.

We're going to start our lesson today by singing a nursery rhyme then we'll listen to and join in with a piece.

London's burning London's burning fetch the engines fetch the engines fire fire fire fire bring the water bring the water London's burning London's burning fetch the engines fetch the engines fire fire fire fire fetch the water fetch the water let's try that all together London's burning London's burning fetch the engines fetch the engines fire fire fire fire fetch the water fetch the water London's burning London's burning fetch the engines fetch the engines fire fire fire fire fetch the water fetch the water.

Are you ready to listen? if you've got your listening ears turned on make sure they're warmed up now i am going to tell you a piece that i have made up and i have pretended that i am baby bear to tell you this piece.

Are you ready? this piece is a recount that means I'm remembering I'm re-telling something that has happened pretending to be baby bear.

I came home one day walking through the deep green forest until i came to my little cottage right in the middle and as we walked we sang with three bears three bears living in our cottage in the wood three bears three bears living here together feels so good i live there with my daddy my mummy and i and baby bear and we love each other very much, but on this terrible day we lifted the latch and went into the cottage and as i came into our little kitchen the sun was streaming through the window but to my horror i saw that my porridge had been eaten daddy's bowl was there full of porridge mummy's bowl was there full of porridge but my bowl was empty someone had eaten all of my porridge when mummy and daddy looked closer they realised that a mouthful had been taken out of each of their bowls too how bizarre first they went over to their bowls someone's been eating my porridge roared my daddy someone's been eating my porridge roared my mummy someone's been eating my porridge i squealed and they've eaten it all up and i began to cry because i was so upset that all of my porridge had been eaten.

So we walked through the hallway into the living room where we each have our very own chairs daddy has a really big one mummy has a medium-sized one and i have a very small chair perfect for me baby bear.

Someone's been sitting in my chair roared my daddy.

someone's been sitting in my chair roared my mummy.

someone's been sitting in my chair i said and it's fallen to pieces and i started to cry again because first my porridge had been eaten and now my chair my perfect baby-sized chair has fallen to pieces, what a day.

Finally we walked up the stairs to the bedroom someone's been sleeping in my bed roared my daddy someone's been sleeping in my bed shouted my mummy someone's been sleeping in my bed and she's still there all three of us roared and a little girl with golden hair jumped out of my bed left straight out of the window and we haven't seen her since.

Thank you for listening to my recount as i pretended to be baby bear telling you all about the dreadful day that baby bear had had.

Now i want us to have a little think about the first section of that recount when baby bear walks into the kitchen.

what do you imagine the kitchen looked like when the bears came home? pause the video while you have a little think about that.

When the bears came home I wonder if the lights were on or off.

I wonder if the kitchen chairs were tucked in.

I wonder if the tap was on.

I wonder if there were bowls in the sink.

I wonder if the floor was slippery.

I wonder if the kitchen cupboards were open.

I wonder if there were flowers on the table.

I wonder if there was a kettle on the side.

I wonder if the little bear's kitchen is yellow or green or white.

I wonder if the little bear's kitchen has one window or two.

I wonder if the little bear's kitchen is big or small.

Have a little think about what you imagine the kitchen looks like and how it might have looked when they got home.

Have a think again now using some of the ideas that I've just given you as i wondered out loud and have a wonder about what the kitchen looked like pause the video again now to wander a little bit more you might wonder out loud.

Shall we sing the nursery rhyme from the beginning of our lesson one more time? it's quite a tricky one not because of the words but because it goes up quite high and down quite low it's okay if you don't think you're very good at singing up high or down low I'm not but we can still have some fun with it let's sing it again London's burning London's burning fetch the engines fetch the engines fire fire fire fire fetch the water fetch the water London's burning London's burning fetch the engines fetch the engines fire fire fire fire fetch the water fetch the water London's burning London's burning fetch the engines fetch the engines fire fire fire fire fetch the water fetch the water one more time London's burning London's burning fetch the engines fetch the engines fire fire fire fire fetch the water fetch the water.

Thank you for joining me today for our lesson i hope i see you again soon bye bye.
