Hi, I'm Miss Davis.

And in this lesson today, we're going to be rotating objects around given coordinate.

In this example, we've been asked to rotate triangle 270 degrees anticlockwise about the point negative one zero.

I've drawn this onto the coordinate grid.

You need to be working with some tracing paper if you've got it to rotate this triangle.

Using your tracing paper, you will have a solution of this.

This is the same as rotating 90 degrees in a clockwise direction.

And a 270 degree clockwise rotation is the same as a 90 degree anticlockwise rotation.

We've been asked to rotate this parallelogram about the origin.

Do you know what origin is? When we're looking at a coordinate grid? Well done, if you know, it is the point zero zero.

Let's rotate this parallelogram 90 degrees anticlockwise, it would get be here.

But then rotating our original parallelogram 180 degrees.

This doesn't have a direction as 180 degrees clockwise, would be the same as 180 degrees anticlockwise.

This would be here.

Finally, we're going to rotate our original parallelogram 270 degrees anticlockwise.

Which would be here.

Here are the answers.

Remember, that reflecting 270 degrees clockwise is the same as rotating 90 degrees anti clockwise.

Make sure that you're using the correct centre of rotation for each question.

Here are the answers.

Make sure that you've written all three parts of the description.

Or two parts if it is a 180 degree rotation.

Here is the answer.

Michael has written down the correct degrees and direction, but the centre of rotation is two zero.

That's all for this lesson.

Thanks for watching.
