Hello! I'm Adam and this is Panda and we are on unit 6 lesson 9, using the story "The King and the Moon." Let's see what's on the agenda today.

So for our warm up today, we're going to learn another seafaring song.

A song with sailors in.

And then after that, we'll look at the word "because" and use it as each character has to use it in the story that we're learning how to tell.

Finally, we'll have some fun doing some drama, acting out the story.

So let's start with the warm up, the song.

So today's song, you might know it, "A Sailor Went to Sea." And Panda asked, "Could we have a girl sailor this time?" Of course we can! So this time, the song goes with the actions- thank you, Panda.

♪ A sailor went to sea sea sea ♪ ♪ To see what she could see see see ♪ ♪ But all that she could see see see ♪ ♪ Was the bottom of the deep blue sea sea sea ♪ Brilliant.

There are three verses.

The first one is sea.

The second one is to- ♪ A sailor went to chop chop chop ♪ Strange isn't it? ♪ A sailor went to chop chop chop ♪ And the third one- ♪ A sailor went to knee knee knee ♪ So we tap our knee for that.

So we chop and then we tap our knee to knee knee knee.

Then the final verse, you're going to put it all together.

♪ A sailor went to sea chop knee ♪ ♪ To see what she could see chop knee ♪ Could you try doing that? Okay, here we go.

♪ A sailor went to sea sea sea ♪ ♪ To see what she could see see see ♪ ♪ But all that she could see see see ♪ ♪ Was the bottom of the deep blue sea sea sea ♪ Good.

We're ready for chopping.

♪ A sailor went to chop chop chop ♪ ♪ To see what she could chop chop chop ♪ ♪ But all that she could chop chop chop ♪ ♪ Was the bottom of the deep blue chop chop chop ♪ Knee knee knee.

♪ A sailor went to knee knee knee ♪ ♪ To see what she could knee knee knee ♪ ♪ But all that she could knee knee knee ♪ ♪ Was the bottom of the deep blue knee knee knee ♪ This time, sea chop knee.

Now, let's have a look at the word "because." So here it is, then.

A very important word in the unit, the word "because." Such a really useful word.

A super clever word too because without the word "because," it's hard for us to explain things.

Now in this story, we have to use "because" quite a lot.

Now, the story is now all around the word and we start to need the story here where the pirate fairies are totally soaking wet and they go and see the whale and they say, "We're all wet and it's all your fault!" And the whale says, "You can't blame me because I was scared by the mango thrown by the great, big hairy gorilla.

So you can't blame me.

You've got to blame Gorilla." So the pirate fairies go and see Gorilla and they say, "We're soaking wet! It's all your fault!" "You can't blame me," says Gorilla, "because I was scared when the crab went scuttling across my foot.

So, Crab is to blame." The pirate fairies go to see the crab and say, "We are soaking wet and it's all your fault!" "You can't blame me," says the crab, "because your music was keeping me awake and then one of you put your foot into my hole.

So you see, you can't blame me, it's you.

You love the moon too much." And because the pirate fairies love the moon, they started the whole problem with their loud singing and dancing.

And they end the story climbing up a hill because they want to capture the moon.

The word "because." Such a really useful word.

Okay.

Now it's time for us to act out the story.

Don't worry, I'll show you because I'm going to ask you to try.

So you can see that I've chosen to stand up for this bit.

You can watch for a moment if you want to because I'm going to show you the first way I was going to act out the story.

And the first way I was going to pretend to be the animals and the people in each bit of the story.

So, for example, in the beginning, I might be pirate fairy and I might be looking at the moon and singing to the moon.

And then, I might pretend to be a little crab in my hole being cross.

And then I might be really surprised when a pirate fairy stands on my house.

And then I'll scuttle.

And then you might see me being a great, big hairy gorilla eating a mango.

When the crab runs against my foot, I throw it.

You see what I mean? So, watch and see if I can tell the story by acting it out without speaking.

Here we go.

Do you know where I am now? I'm those really cross pirate fairies.

I'm now rowing to see the great, big hairy gorilla.

Climbing up the mountain.

Trying to catch the moon.

So I'm acting out the story.

Pretending to be all the animals inside the story but I wasn't speaking that time.

But I was thinking, "What was that?" when I was the crab.

I was thinking, "What was that?" when I was the great, big hairy gorilla.

And when I was the whale, I was thinking, "What was that?" when all the things that happened, happened.

So acting out can be fun and you don't have to speak.

So it's up to you for the first time, I'm going to pause the video.

Find your own way of acting out the story.

Time to work.

So how was that? It's fun acting out a story, isn't it? Pretending to be the characters.

At the beginning of this lesson, we looked at the word "because." Now we want to start to try using it much more in our story telling.

So this time, I'm going to pretend to be the characters again.

Only now, I'm going to really try hard to use the word "because" when each character tells their bit of the story.

I'll show you what I mean.

Oh, look at that lovely moon! ♪ Pirate fairies, we love the moon ♪ Those pirate fairies are so noisy! Please be quiet! What was that? Do you remember? We worked on that bit as well.

What a lovely looking mango! What was that? What a lovely day for a swim.

What was that? ♪ Pirate fairies, we love the- ♪ Uh oh! There's a wave coming! We're soaking wet! Who's fault is it? It was the whale! I'm going to see that whale! So am I! Whale, we are all wet and you are to blame.

You can't blame me because I was scared by a mango thrown by a great, big hairy gorilla.

It is the gorilla's fault! Gorilla, we are all wet and it's all your fault.

You can't blame me.

It was the crab who ran across my foot.

The crab startled me and I threw my mango.

Let's see the crab.

Crab! We are wet.

It's all your fault.

Why? Because you startled a gorilla and made him throw a mango.

The mango landed on the head of a whale.

The whale flicked its tail and we are wet from the wave.

It's all your fault because you ran over the foot of the gorilla.

Uh uh.

Not my fault because I only ran because of your horrible music and singing to the moon.

And when you were dancing, you almost flattened me.

So it's all your fault for singing to the moon that you love.

Maybe it is our fault.

But we do love the moon because it's so beautiful! Let's climb this hill and try and find it and capture it with these nets.
