Cedric would like us to play a game first of all, this morning.

He'd like to play the Tell and Mime game.

Have you played that game before? Don't worry, if you haven't.

It's very easy.

Cedric is going to tell me part of the story of the magic paintbrush, and then I'm going to see if you can guess which parts of the story it is.

This time, Cedric, I'm going to mime when I'm going to see if you can guess it, which parts of the story do you think it was? It is the part where the greedy King tries to use the paintbrush, but it doesn't work.

In today's lesson, we're going to box up the story for a purpose, looking at mood.

We're going to start with some spelling.

Then we're going to retell the story with our story map.

Then we're going to box up the story.

And then we're going to explore the moods, using our senses.

For this lesson, you will need an exercise book or some paper, a pencil, or a pen and draw a brilliant brain.

Why don't you pause the video now to collect those things.

In our spelling this week, we're going to look at words that begin with wh, wh we're going to look at words that begin with w-h, w-h.

In today's lesson, we're going to be building our toolkit for creating mood in a story.

We're going to retell the story now, but I'm going to do it using my story map with my mood words written on it.

If you've got your story map, you might want to do the same thing.

Using your map like that is a great way to look at the moods and retell the story.

What we're going to do now is we're going to box up the story into five important moments.

Okay? So when we boxed up our story.

I'm going to draw a line down the middle of the page to show our two sections and then four lines across the page four lines across the page to make five different sections to make five different sections for each of the key moments we're going to choose.

And I'm going to number those one, two, three, four, and five.

Remember this is how we want the audience to feel.

That's our job as the storyteller or the writer.

We're on the edge of the seat, we're thinking what next? And then in the final part of the story, we're back to that happy mood, big smiley face, we're back to that happy mood, big smiley face, but we've also got that mood of kindness again, because he's helping the other people.

So now we've got each of the key moments in the story and the moods shown in words or pictures.

But I'm going to put a hand thinking about the sense of touch, but it's everything that we feel.

So in this top section, we're thinking about what we can see.

So maybe people with wide eyes, So maybe people with wide eyes, remember we want to show that mood of Wow and Wonder, remember we want to show that mood of Wow and Wonder, and you can draw pictures or you can write words.

These people have also got open mouths, wide open, because they can't believe what they can see.

Draw that picture.

What can you see? So now we'll go to think about what we can here as these amazing things are happening with the magic paintbrush.

So the first thing is that gasps.

This is the moment where he's changed people's lives.

They might actually shout, hooray, and they might be so happy and so full of wonder and they might be so happy and so full of wonder that they start laughing and giggling.

Laughter I wonder what sounds you think you'd hear in this magical moment? Pause the video again, to describe the sounds you can hear.

How can we show that magical moment through tastes? So I'm thinking these plates of delicious food might taste sweet.

I love this word, mouthwatering, I love this word, mouthwatering, that people are watching these plates of food come to life and then mouths are watering because they look so delicious.

Remember when you do yours, you can just use pictures.

If you'd prefer or you can write words and that word, yummy, just to create that mood in our audience, pause the video again, to add to your gird what you can taste and in our final section, what can we feel? Now, the first thing I was thinking that you'd be feeling goosebumps all over your body.
