Hello, I'm Adam and this is panda and welcome to lesson four in our work together using the story, the Noisy House, let's have a look at the agenda.

So as always, the first thing on the agenda is a warmup and today's warm up is learning a couple of nursery rhymes together and the main activity is learning how to tell the story of the Noisy House only using actions and so for that reason, all we need today is you.

Right for our warmup today, we're going to warm up with two nursery rhymes that go together really well, that Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Baa Baa Black Sheep.

And you might know Twinkle Twinkle already.

And because I'm paying the guitar, you're going to have to use your imaginations, how you would use your fingers to make twinkling and how you'd use your fingers to make a diamond.

Anyway, if you can join in with a singing, that's great, but you might want to sing in your head and that's fine too.

♪ Twinkle, twinkle, little star ♪ ♪ How I wonder what you are ♪ ♪ Up above the world so high ♪ ♪ Like a diamond in the sky ♪ ♪ Twinkle, twinkle little star ♪ ♪ How I wonder what you are ♪ ♪ Baa, baa, black sheep ♪ ♪ Have you any wool? ♪ ♪ Yes sir, yes sir ♪ ♪ Three bags full ♪ ♪ One for the master ♪ ♪ One for the dame ♪ ♪ And one each for the boy and girl ♪ ♪ Who live down the lane ♪ ♪ Thank you says the master ♪ ♪ Thank you says the dame ♪ ♪ Thank you say the boy and girl ♪ ♪ Who live down the lane.

♪ That was fun.

Nursery rhyme done.

So how was that singing a nurse you're I'm together with me while I played the guitar? Did you sing out loud or did you sing in your head like panda? Sometimes when I'm thinking about the things I'm going to say, especially in a story, I think them in my head first, the words.

We're going to do some of that today, we're going to practise telling the story only using actions the story of the Noisy House, but we're not going to speak, but hopefully we'll be thinking the words in our head.

Okay, let's move on.

Right, here's our challenge of the day.

We have to tell a story without speaking.

And so we can only use actions.

It's going to be a very quiet activity.

When you see me doing things like this, do you know the words that are in my head? Up the hill and down the hill, Up the hill and down the hill.

When I do this, what are the words that are in my head? He knocked on the door with the rata tat tat, very good.

When I speak as Mr. Adam, I'll do that, when I do this, I might be thinking of his neighbour.

When I do this, I might be thinking, get yourself a monkey or get yourself a, well done and even at the beginning of the story, when I do this, I won't be saying once upon a time, but I'll be thinking them.

In my head words quietly said, would you like to watch and see if I can tell the whole story in this way? It's a challenge, here we go.

Every word said in my head.

Did you hear some of the words in your head too? Now it's time for the challenge.

I'm going to pause and I'd like you to try that.

Perhaps you can show it, to your talk Teddy or any carer or any friend who's around and after you've had a go, we'll come back and we'll talk some more, good luck.

So how was that? Was it strange? Maybe you've never done that before.

So it was a real challenge to tell a whole story only using your body.

Panda was worried about getting things wrong but she missed out a few bits, but that doesn't matter.

She was still able to remember most of it.

Anyway, we're going to do some more practise.

In your head, even though we don't hear you, it may be that you're imagining saying the words quite loudly sometimes like for example when Mr. Adam realises he's got a noisy house, he goes, "My house is too noisy." You can sound loud in your head, can't you?.

Or you can sound really surprised when his neighbour says, "Take in a chicken" and he goes "Take in a chicken." Anyway, enjoy the sound of your voice in your head.

And we'll do it one more time together.

Are you ready? Here we go, hands together.

We can't say the words.

How was that? Did you hear words in your head? I bet you're so close to telling the whole story.

Well done.

I think we've worked hard today.

What have we done? We learned two nursery rhymes, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Baa Baa Black Sheep.

And then we practised telling the story without speaking.

And we did that three times once when you followed me in your imagination, once when you did it yourself and then once all together.

So that was a lot of concentrating so well done.

Words in the head quietly said really help us when we're learning to be storytellers, let's just finish off with a song so we can hear our voices if you want to, but of course you can always sing it in your head.

And your challenge is to now show your mind story to someone you know.

So I really look forward to our next challenge which is a big one.

And that's telling the story independently all by yourself.
