- Today's session is called Brush your teeth, where we will be thinking about why it is important to brush our teeth.

Sorry, I didn't see you there.

I needed my glasses to get rid of all those hidden germs that I can't see.

Welcome to your session with me, Mrs. Mulla.

I wonder what we're gonna be learning today? Shall we get started? Great, let's go.

In today's lesson, you will need a small jar, some glitter, and a glitter glue pen.

If you don't have this, then normal PVA glue will do.

Pause the video and ask an adult to help you find your items. Come back soon.

In this unit, we have been thinking about daily habits, which means things we should do every day.

And we've been looking at these so far.

Can you remember any of them? Yes, that's right, wear clean cloths, wash your body to stay clean, and stop the spread of germs. I wonder what daily habit we will learn today.

Plaque are germs that are sticky and slimy.

They are germs that sit on your teeth and your gums and they come from what we eat.

If too much plaque builds up, you will get cavities.

Can you say that? Cavities.

Cavities are holes in your teeth.

And once you get those holes in your teeth, they certainly hurt.

And you know what that means, don't you? You'll have to pay a visit to the? That's right, the dentist to get a filling, which is not so nice at all.

To stop these cavities, we need to eat some vegetables and fruits that are crunchy, like an apple, a carrot, or pear.

Can you think of any more crunchy fruits or vegetables? Great, them too.

We need to drink lots of water.

And we need to make sure we brush our teeth twice a day: once in the morning and once at night.

I'd like you to get your magic toothbrush ready.

When we brush our teeth, we must go up and down and around and around.

Can you do that? Up and down and around and around.

That's right, we must brush our teeth for two minutes.

That way, we can keep our mouth healthy and the dentist happy.

- [Child] How will I know I have brushed for two minutes? - Let's make a timer.

You can do this at home too, using the things I asked you to get earlier.

Get help from a parent or carer.

These are the steps you need to do.

Step one, fill your jar up about 3/4 of the way with water.

That's nearly full.

Pause the video and have a go.

Step two, add a full tube of glitter glue, as well as one spoon of glitter.

Pause the video and do those steps.

Step three, wait patiently for all the glitter glue and the glitter to settle to the bottom of the jar.

Then, when it's toothbrushing time, shake up the jar and watch as you brush your teeth.

When the glitter is all at the bottom, it's time to stop.

That should be about two minutes.

Have fun making that.

There we have it.

Another daily habit accomplished.

That means we did it.

Can you remind me what it is? Brush your teeth.

Say it with me: brush your teeth.

Great job.

I would love to see your glitter timers and you brushing your teeth to them.
