Hi children, and welcome to today's session with me, Miss Vali.

Today's lesson is all on glitter germs. But before we get started, I'm sending you a healthy hug your way.

In today's lesson you will need, your good-looking eyes, listening ears, a favourite teddy, a piece of paper and some coloured pencils.

Pause the video and find your items, come back soon.

Billy, Maximus, Rosie, and Percy are starting back at school today.

Soon, you might be starting back at school too.

They have been really excited to see their friends and teachers once again.

I know, they've been really busy with lots of activities.

Shall we go and say hello? Hi guys, so good to see you all again.

Why are you covered in glitter? Did you know Miss Vali, that the glitter is germs that they have spread all over their body? They can't see them.

If they don't wash them properly and get them in their mouth, they could get sick.

What could they do to get their clothes clean I wonder? Could they A, put them in washing machine, B, put them out on a line, C, iron them? Pause the video and tell Teddy.

That's right, you need to put them in a washing machine.

It's wonderful that you've had a great time in school enjoying all the different activities, your teachers have set out.

But do you know your clothes are covered in germs and you need to get them cleaned before you come back to school tomorrow? Well, Ms. Vali.

Yes Percy.

What are germs? Let me show you.

Germs are tiny bugs that live on all things.

And sometimes these bugs can make you sick.

When you're sick, you miss out on having fun, miss going to school and seeing your friends.

They are so small that they can only be seen through a microscope.

And now, although they're not box like insects, they are living and they can grow and multiply, which means get more of really quick.

It's important that we know, that there are these bad germs that can make you feel sick and they are everywhere.

Let me show you how germs are spread.

When you touch something, they stick to you like glue.

You might be busy moving and touching other parts of your body.

You might scratch your head, touch your shoulder and fold your arms. But look what happens when you do that, the germs all spread on your clothes like they did with my friends.

The only way I can get clean is to put these clothes in the washing machine.

Now that it's in the machine I wonder how it's going to get cleaned?.

How do the clothes get cleaned in the machine? Well, first, the clothes need to be separated into lights and darks, and one set to be placed into the machine.

Next, we need to add the detergent, which is washing powder to the machine.

Then we need to set the cycle to a temperature, which is to say how hot the water will be and begin.

After that the clothes will be spun around in the machine with the washing powder and the water to get the dirt off and get them nice and squeaky clean.

Finally, we put the wet and clean clothes on the line to dry, or in a dryer.

I'd like you to talk to Teddy now and tell Teddy the sequence of how the clothes get cleaned in a machine.

Pause the video and have a go.

Excellent, I like the way you used first, next, then, after that and finally.

Let's get creative.

Today we will draw a picture to show what our clothes look like before and after washing.

We need to begin with our messy clothes.

To do that, we need to make sure we have lots of stains on them.

It falls into the machine after, and it comes out all squeaky clean.

A bit like this.

You could write some key words to describe your clothes before and after they are washed.

The dirty clothes are infectious and have germs on them.

And they're very messy.

Your clean clothes are squeaky and stainless.

Now it is your turn begin with drawing what your uniform would look like after a day in school, then draw your washing machine to show how it will get cleaned.

After that draw your uniform all squeaky and clean.

Why not add in some key words to describe the different uniforms before and after washing? Challenge yourself by writing a sentence to describe how to get clothes washed.
