Hello, and welcome to our lesson, all about healthy hugs.

Today's lesson is going to be with me, Miss Vali.

And in today's lesson, you will need a quiet place to work in and a favourite teddy.

Pause the video, and find your favourite teddy.

Come back soon.

I'd like to introduce you to some of my friends today.

Here I have Maximus.

And there I've got Percy, give him a high five.

Can you salute Billy? And finally, blow a kiss to Rosie.

They are best friends.

And one of the things they like to do when they're together, is to give each other a big hug.

Do you like that too? I thought so.

Now we have a bit of a problem today.

Rosie is feeling a little bit down and upset.

Would you like to hear what her problem is? Yes, it is a problem.

She is going to be starting school soon, a bit like you, and she can't wait to see her friends and her teachers.

But she's feeling a bit down, because she can't really give them a hug.

And she's right, in our new world things are a little bit different.

We're not going to be able to give each other a big hug.

Hm, I wonder what she could do instead? Can you have a think? Maximus has had an idea.

Would you like to tell me, Maximus? What a brilliant idea.

I don't know why I didn't think of this myself.

Maximus has said, "What if Rosie used some signs to show her friends that will tell her how much she loves them and how much she has missed them?" I think so, too.

Hm, I wonder what signs though? Let's have a look.

Good job.

How about, I love you.

What about blowing a kiss? We did that before, didn't we? I am okay.

How about hope? That means that you think something good will happen.

Or give them a wave.

Can you think of anymore? Yes, a cheer maybe.

Or you could bow.

Or give a hug.

Yeah, I think they're brilliant.

Now, what if we put some of our favourite signs together in a sequence and create a healthy hug? I think that would really help Rosie when she meets her friends again.

Hm, let's have a look.

We could start off by waving, blowing a kiss, sending a heart through and giving themselves a hug.

I have been practising.

Would you like to see mine? That was my healthy hug.

Now it's time for you to have a go.

When you're doing yours, I'd like you to choose four favourite signs.

Smile.

Do some actions, and maybe you could add in a special phrase or a word, like it's lovely to see you.

That's a good idea.

Pause the video and have a go.

Wow, so many healthy hugs came my way.

Thank you.

Nathan, I really liked the way you saluted me in your healthy hug.

Jess, I liked the way you blew your kiss, it came right to me.

Adam, I liked the way you high-fived me in your healthy hug.

Maybe you could share these healthy hugs with your family at home.

And maybe the adults at home could help you upload them onto our page.

I can't wait to see many more of these coming through to us.

Stay safe.

See you soon.
