Hi, and welcome to today's lesson.

Our lesson objective today is all about being kind and showing respect.

Oh, didn't see you there.

Oh, I've had a good rest from our last lesson.

Welcome to our lesson with me, Mrs. Waka.

What's your name? Hi there! Look at me.

I'm no longer a caterpillar, like I was last session.

I must have grown that little bit more, and I hope to grow some more today.

Do you think I might be able to fly today? Let's have a look, shall we.

Remember the journey.

My journey started as an egg.

I was a caterpillar.

Do you think I might be the pupa, or even the butterfly today? Let's see.

In today's lesson, you will need your looking eyes, your listening ears, and your favourite teddy.

Pause the video, and go and get the things that you need.

What is kindness? It is being nice to other people using words or actions that make someone happy and make them smile.

Can you think of some kind words that you would like to receive? Pause the video, and talk to your teddy.

Yes, I would like to hear people say "Hello" and ask how I am feeling.

Would you? So how are you? Are you okay? Something saying I am helpful or thoughtful would make me extremely happy.

Would you feel the same way too? How would you feel if someone said "Please" and "Thank you"? They are very kind words you could use lots every day, to your mommy, your daddy, your teacher, your friends too.

They make people feel very happy and smile.

When can we use kind words? Well.

Looking at the picture, when you get your lunch from your mommy, or your daddy, or even your dinner lady.

We can say "Thank you" because they have spent a long time making the food that we want to eat.

Another time, looking at that tricycle, when else could we use "Please" and "Thank you"? Yes, at play time, when your friend has already got their tricycle, and you want a go.

You could say, "Please, could I have a go?" And when they give you the tricycle, you could say, "Thank you." When you want me, say, "Please, can I have an orange?" And when you get me, say, "Thank you!" Thank you! You're welcome! Are you okay? Yeah.

Thank you.

Here you are.

You're welcome! Thank you.

Thank you.

Did you hear the kind words that these children were using when they got their food? What were they saying? Yes, they all said, "Thank you!" When the kids say "Thank you," it makes me very happy.

It's a pleasure to serve the children.

These kind words made the dinner ladies feel very happy.

But why is it important to use kind words? Yes, we think it's important to make someone smile and be happy just by using kind words.

Can you make someone smile and be happy today? Apart from kind words, we could use actions to show kindness too, also known as gestures.

Can you think of something you could do to show kindness? Pause the video to have a little think to talk to your teddy and share your ideas.

Yes! You could give someone a high-five or even a hug.

Water helps flowers grow like kindness helps the heart grow.

How could you show kindness? Pause the video, and have a think.

Should we have a look at some of the ideas? We could help by putting the plates in the dishwasher.

Tidying your bedroom.

Opening the door for someone.

Carrying the bags for your neighbour.

Or even sharing your chocolate.

These are all kind actions or gestures.

This is something you might have up at Christmas.

Yes, a Christmas tree.

You may give this to someone when they have a baby.

You may give someone this on their birthday.

But all these occasions, what may you give someone? Pause the video, and have a think.

Look at the pictures! Can you guess how else we could be kind before I get to the final picture? Yes, you're right! Giving a card or a present is another way to show kindness.

I bet you get excited when you receive gifts.

I do.

After looking at the different ways we can show kindness, I would like you to choose someone who you are going to show kindness to.

It could be your mommy, your daddy, your brother, your sister, your teacher, or even your neighbour.

I'm going to choose my neighbour.

Who will you choose? Good idea.

Then, you need to think about the different parts of your body you can show it as kindness to that person.

So, hmm, how could I show kindness with my face to my neighbour? I could smile, listen, and say hello.

How about my hands? What can I do? Pause the video, and have a think.

Yes, you're right! I could shake their hand or open the door for them.

Or I could even carry their shopping for them.

I could even cook them a meal or bake a cake for them.

How do you think that my neighbour would feel after all of these acts of kindness? That's right.

They would feel really happy, and they would smile and say "Thank you." Yes, they would show kindness to me too.

For your task today, you will be using kindness with different parts of your body.

First, I want you to decide who you will show kindness to.

Next, how will you use your body to show kindness? Then, sprinkle your kindness everywhere.

Can you try and show kindness through this week? And I would love to know what you did to be kind to either your mommy, your daddy, your brother, or your sister, a grandma or an aunt, or even your neighbour.

Wow! You really have spread a lot of kindness to your loved ones.

In our world, there are lots of people that show kindness in different ways.

In some countries, children do not have books, so sharing your books with them would be a kind action.

When you go abroad to another country, there may be people who will open the doors for you.

They may even carry your luggage to your room or even bring you food to your room.

This is another way of showing kindness.

In some countries, you may see animals, including dogs or cats, roaming the streets.

These are called strays because they don't have a home.

Some kind people may give them water or feed the animals, or even give them a safe place to stay.

When you go on holiday, you may be invited for a traditional meal or from your cousin's house to eat.

This is another way to show kindness.

Do you recognise these? They're a little bit like money boxes, yes.

They are collection boxes for charities.

Charities help people that are less fortunate than yourself.

This means they don't have as much as you.

They may not have any clothes or food or water or even a house to live in.

If you were to give them money or one hot meal, how do you think they would feel? That's right.

Not just happy, but ecstatic, meaning really happy.

Oh, what's happened to me? I hope you've got some wonderful colours, just like me.

Come again next week!.
