History

In this unit pupils studied how far drastic changes in the early modern world led to changes in the reasons for migration and the experiences of migrants. In ‘Migration: what was the impact of 18th and 19th century migration?’ pupils will study how far the Industrial Revolution and expansion of the British Empire brought about further changes.

In 'Migration: how was Britain impacted by migration in the medieval period?', pupils studied the main reasons for migration in the medieval period looking at how the economy was the driving force behind increasing migration. In this unit, pupils will consider how far reasons for migration shifted as the Reformation brought drastic change across Europe.

In this unit, pupils learn about various migrants to England in the early modern period. They investigate how Flemish, Walloon, African, Huguenot and Jewish migrants all came to England and the changes this brought about.
