Hello there, my name's Miss Riaz, and today our lesson is all about My growing journey.

We will be looking at how we as humans, grow and change over the years.

How does our body change? And what do we look like from starting off as a baby, right the way to adulthood.

In this lesson, first, we will be looking at growing and growth.

We then will look at pictures and spot what same, and different in the two different age groups.

We then look at with human growth, and see how humans grow from babies to adults.

After that, we will do some sequencing, that means putting some pictures in order of how humans grow, and finally, you will make a I grow and change poster, to show your growth journey from being a baby right the way to an adult.

In this lesson, you will need good looking eyes, some paper, and some colouring pencils.

Pause the video and go and get your items. Come back soon.

Hello there, it's nice to see you.

My name is Miss.

Riaz.

Sorry about that.

I was just watering my plant, I love plants.

I have plants around my home, and I have them in my office here too.

And this is our library, and in my library, I've got some cactus plants, I've got some flowers, and I've got a special plant that was given to me as a gift.

Have you got one too? You have, yes! You've grown what? A bean plant before.

Yes, it's really lovely to have plants.

Well, in today's lesson, we're going to be learning all about growth.

And plants grow, and humans grow too.

Are you ready for today's lesson? Shall we get started? Let's start, let's sit up smartly, wobble that head, blink those eyes one, two, three, ping that smile, let's go.

All living things grow, plants grow and they start off as a seed, don't they? In some soil and they grow into big, big plants, or into big trees.

Animals grow, can you point to the baby monkey? Aren't they lovely? Baby monkeys grow into adult monkeys, and humans also grow.

We start life as babies, and then we grow up into adults.

Now when we grow, our bodies change.

When a plant grows, its plant body will change.

When an animal grows, its animal body will change.

So mine is a plant here ,it's only very small, but if I feed it and look after it, it will start to grow, and it can grow, and grow, and it can get to this size.

So growth means change in size.

Humans are born as very small babies.

Can you see the picture? Yeah, we were all like that at once upon a time, we've all now grown.

As a baby, you can't do very much.

You can't walk, you can't talk, you can't sit up.

Have a think? How have you changed, since you were a baby? Yes, you're right.

You can now talk, one more, you've now got some teeth, so you can chew your food, and swallow it properly.

Yes, you can now dress your own self, you don't need anybody to help you.

Well done, you've done some super growing up.

Let's look at these two pictures.

The two pictures are of Adam.

Adam as a baby, and Adam as a grown adult man.

What's just same in both of the pictures? Adam's got, he still got the same eyes, he still got hands and feet, both pictures have got a body.

Can you think of something that's the same? Yeah, you're right, he's still got a tongue in his mouth, and he also still has a nose that's the same.

What's different? Oh, well, Adam's done a lot of growing up, he's got a lot bigger.

The baby's really small, and the adult is a tall man, and he's a bigger man.

What else is different? Let me think, oh, gosh, Adam now has a beard.

He didn't have a beard as a baby, did he? He's also got no hair, and as a baby, he did have hair.

You have to think, what's different? You're right, Adam can now talk.

He couldn't talk when he was a baby.

One more, brilliant, Adam is now able to walk, he's standing up, and he can walk about, and as a baby he couldn't.

He was lying on his back all the time, well done.

Our bodies change all the time, and as we grow there are lots of things that stay the same, and some things that change and are different.

This is Sarah.

In the first picture, Sarah is 16 years old, she's a teenager.

In the second picture, this is Sarah now.

Sarah is 72 years old, she's an older woman now.

Have a look at the two pictures, what is the same in both pictures? Well done, they both have got beautiful smile.

They've still got their eyes, and they both have a body.

Now, let's think at spotting the differences, what's changed in their bodies? This is the tricky bit, can you have a think? And tell me two key things that are different in these two pictures.

Oh, you look ready with an answer.

Yes, you're right, the colour of Sarah's hair has changed.

When she was a teenager she had beautiful brown hair, it was very long, wasn't it? As she's grown up, her hair colour has changed, she's now got grey hair and a haircut is shorter.

She still has hair, but because of age it has changed colour.

Anybody else got another one? Another difference that is spotted, you do? Brilliant, yes, as a teenager, Sarah's skin on her face looks super smooth, and it looks fresh, and it looks very young and youthful.

As you get older, the skin on your face does age, and she now has a few wrinkles around her eyes, can you see them? Some wrinkles around her chin, that happens as you grow older.

Well done, you've done a super job.

Take a look at these two pictures.

These are pictures of Charlie, Charlie as a toddler, and now Charlie as a child, he's now 10 years old.

Charlie has changed a lot, can you spot three changes? Three differences, you're right, he's a lot taller, he's got more hair and teeth.

Do you think Charlie likes football? He does, he can play football.

As a toddler, he couldn't, he could barely stand up, he couldn't hop, skip or jump.

And now Charlie can do all of those as he's grown up, Well done.

Humans go through different stages of growth.

We start as babies, and then babies grow, and they grow into being toddlers.

And as toddlers grow, they grow into becoming children, just like you, that's the first stage of human growth.

Can you say those words? Baby, toddler, child, baby, toddler, child.

Shall we put an action to it? Can we do an action for baby? What's a good action for baby? Yes, you've got it, let's do baby, baby, let's rock the baby.

Baby, baby is the first one.

The second one, what could we do as another action for toddler? Toddlers do.

Yes, you're right, they like sucking their thumbs, can we go, can we do that? Great, so we've got baby, cute babies, toddlers, sucking their thumbs and then child, can you do that? Baby, toddler , and child.

Fantastic, you know the first stage of human growth, brilliant.

A child then grows into a teenager.

Do your teen numbers? You know where they start from? You're right, 13 is the first teenager, and then it goes on.

Shall we count our teen members together? My 10 turn, your turn, 13, 14, 15, your turn 16, 17, your turn, 18, 19 and that's it.

All those years, from 13 to 19, you are a teenager.

Shall we think of an action for a teenager? All teenagers think that they are super cool, and they're always are looking really cool.

Shall we do, I'm specking up my hair? Teenagers, they always like to look wonderful, that's a great action.

Once you get to 19, you then hit number 20.

You are 20 years old and then, you are known as an adult.

An adult is a person who then is responsible, and who goes out to work.

Now this adult looks super smart, shall we have a tie? He has a job, he's got to get ready for work in the mornings, that's an adult, and adult life can last for a long time.

And as you grow as an adult, you then grow into an elderly person, and this is an elderly person.

This is when you may not have to work anymore, you are retired, and you are enjoying lots of different hobbies, and your body looks very different to what it was when you were in adulthood.

Shall we have an action for elderly? Let's have a think.

Oh, I know one, my dad is a little bit old, and when he sat sometime he has a snooze, just does this.

Shall we do a snoozy adult, elderly adult? Let's have a go, brilliant, brilliant.

Let's do those three actions together, so super cool teenagers specking her hair, wonderful, smart adult, teenager, and then adult with a smart tie, and elderly, having a snooze, wonderful.

Now you know the different stages of human growth.

Well done.

Have a look at these pictures, they're all in the wrong order.

Can you put these pictures into the correct order? Pause the video and have a go.

Did you get them in the right order? Lets see, the first one is baby, then we grow into a toddler.

The third one was the child, a child grows into a teenager, a teenager grows into an adult, and an adult grows into an elderly person.

Well done, you did a brilliant job.

Now you're ready children, for your task.

Your task is to do an I grow and change poster.

Watch the video coming up next, and it will show you exactly what to do.

You will need to draw yourself from a baby to a child, and then growing into an adult.

Have a look at mine, and I'm sure you can do an even better job.

Baby, child, and adult.

The keywords are listed here, so you can use them for spelling.

I can't wait to see your pictures.

First, you will need to write your title.

The title is, I grow, and, can you have a go, and for me well done, and change, that's your title.

Then, you need to draw three pictures.

I'm going to start off with me as a very small baby.

Here I am, a tiny baby, all wrapped up in a blanket.

Give myself some eyes, a smile, a button nose, and a few spiky hair.

I like the colour orange, so I'm going to give myself some orange stripes in my blanket.

After that, a baby grows into a toddler, and then the toddler grows into a child.

I'm going to draw myself as a child.

I have a small face, brown hair, my eyes are the same, and so is my smile and nose.

Change the colours, I love purple, so purple is my dress, my arms, I'm going to give my little girl, a spotty dress.

So, baby, child, a child then grows into a teenager, and then is an adult.

This is me as an adult, I'm a lot bigger now.

My hair is longer, there we are.

My eyes are the same, so is my face, just a bit bigger.

But I'm now a lot taller, and I have a bigger body.

I think I'm going to draw myself a lovely skirt, there we are.

I'm taller, I'm bigger.

I still like orange and purple, so I'm going to use those, those colours are my favourite.

There we are, now there's one thing left to do.

I'm a very tiny baby, then I grow up into a child, and from childhood, you go into adulthood.

So I'm going to label each one of my pictures, baby, child, adult.

You can use your key words to help you.

If you would like to draw a teenager, or an elderly person, or a toddler, you can do that too, enjoy.

Your steps to success are, first, to write the title at the top of your page, then here will need to draw and label you as a baby, and as a child.

And finally, make sure to draw yourself as an adult, and label it too.
