Hello everyone, and welcome to another RHE lesson with me Miss Plummer.

Today we're going to start a new unit all about families.

The title of today's lesson is My special people.

In this lesson you're going to think about the people who are special to you.

Should we get started? Come on then.

In this lesson, you will need some paper, a pencil and some coloured pencils if you have them.

Pause the video to go and find those things.

We will start today's lesson by thinking about special people to you.

After that we will think about your home, where you live.

Then, we will think about your carer, people who look after you and finally you're going to think about your superhero.

Here are my special people.

These people are very special to me.

This is my family.

There is my mom, my aunty, my brothers, my grandma and my granddad.

They're very special to me.

I care about them and they care about me.

Who are your special people? Who's special to you? Who looks after you? Have a think about people that you care about and those people that care about you.

Well done.

Is the postman a special person to you? No, not really is he? He comes just everyday and delivers your mail but he's not special.

What about your parents or carer? Definitely, they're special.

Now lets think about your home.

That's where you live.

What's at your home? What is it like? You might live, where there are a lot of trees and there are not many people around.

Your house might look a little bit like this.

You might live on a street with a brightly coloured door.

Does your house look like this? You might live in flats or apartments where there are lots of people around.

Or your house might be like this, on a steep hill that you have to walk up and down everyday.

Think about your home and what is it like? Pause the video think about your home, and you can draw your house on your piece of paper.

Come back when you're ready.

Now let's think about your carer.

People who take care of you.

It could be a parent, a carer an older sibling, a relative.

All these people care about you don't they? Could it be the post man? Does he care about you? He cares about your mail and he'll deliver your letters and parcels, but they don't really take care of you do they? No, there's a difference isn't there? A carer is someone who looks after you.

What kind of things do they do to show that they care? Have a think.

That's right.

They might wash the dishes for you after you've eaten.

They'll cook you a lovely meal.

They'll even tidy the house for you.

Let's have a look at some other ideas to think of this.

So a carer is someone who will take you to the park and do fun things with you.

They might even buy you some bubbles.

A carer will make sure you are healthy.

They'll take you to the dentist and check your teeth, they'll look after you if you're sick, they'll even take you to the doctors if you want some medicine.

A carer is somebody who makes sure you are safe.

A carer will cook nice things with you and they might even let you help.

Now let's think about your superhero.

We've talked about people who care about you.

You've thought about your house and who you live with.

Who's your superhero? Who takes care of you? Who cooks for you? Cleans for you? Makes sure you've got nice clothes.

Buys you toys.

Who does all those things for you? Pause the video and have a think.

Well done.

Should I show you my superhero? Let's have a look.

Here's my superhero.

I'm not very good with drawing am I? But that doesn't matter.

My superhero is my mum and I'll tell you why she's my superhero.

Because she cooks nice food for me.

She makes my bed if I need it, and she does fun things with me.

So we go out to the park, we go shopping.

She's always done that for me even now that I'm grown up.

Today you are going to draw your superhero.

The person who takes care of you, and you can do it just like I've done.

I bet you'll do a better job than me.

You can draw your superhero, and you can think about all the things that they do to show you that they care.

Your task is to think about your superhero.

So first you will draw a special person to you.

It could be your parents or carer.

Another relative maybe even an older sibling.

Then, you're going to explain.

How do they care for you? Do they cook, clean, do they buy you new clothes? Do they wash your clothes? Do they play games with you? Then, you can decorate.

You could colour.

Add photographs of your special person, or maybe draw some pictures.

Pause the video, and have a go.

You've done a super job today.

Well done.
