I'm Mr. Sidat and in this unit I will be teaching you all about eating and living well.

In today's lesson we are going to be learning all about the importance of oral hygiene, and even learn how to create our own million dollar smile.

In this lesson, you will need paper, or an exercise book, a pencil, and some quiet space to get those creative juices flowing.

The sequence of the lesson is as follows.

We're going to start up with a very, very quick warmup just to get our bodies and our brains warmed up.

We'll then move on to define what the term million dollar smile means.

Then we'll find out how to create a perfect smile before finding out which toothbrush is best to brush our teeth with.

And finally, we'll be writing some steps on how to create a million dollar smile.

I hope you're ready to get started.

The theme of our unit is all about being healthy.

We're going to start off every lesson by doing a very, very quick warmup just to warm our body and our brains up using sport.

So, today's sport is boxing.

So let's get ready to rumble.

So we're going to start off just by bouncing in this spot, okay.

And let's get into the centre of the ring.

Okay, the first combination that we're going to be throwing is a double jab which is going to look like this.

One, two.

Brilliant.

Can you try that? One, two.

Excellent.

There's some sweet jabs there.

Brilliant.

Now, we need to dodge.

So, let's dodge that way, and dodge that way.

Brilliant, that's great dodging everyone.

Well done, let's keep going.

Right, next thing I want you to do is throw a hook to the body, and then an uppercut Do you think you can do that? A hook to the body, and then an upper cut.

Brilliant.

Excellent.

Well done everybody.

Let's keep going.

And again, dodge, and duck, and uppercut, and hook, and he's knocked out.

Oh that's a great, great combination.

Well done everybody.

So, do you think you can remember that routine again? Double jab, dodge, hook, uppercut, dodge, duck, uppercut, and a hook, and we've won that fight.

You think you can do that? Brilliant.

I want you to repeat that three more times.

So the name of the chemical we release when we exercise is called endorphins.

Brilliant, well done everybody.

So, are you ready to learn a new fact about endorphins? You are? Well, did you know there are four different types of endorphins produced in your body.

They are known as alpha, beta, gamma, and sigma, and they all have very different jobs.

Welcome to the lesson everybody.

This week, we are going to be exploring the term million dollar smile.

So, what is it? A million dollar smile is a perfect smile.

Look at the picture.

How has she got a million dollar smile? Well, the main reason her smile is so perfect is because her teeth really look flawless, and that makes her smile look amazing and as if though she spent a million dollars on it.

So how do we create the perfect smile? Well, we need to look after our teeth.

It is so important to look after your first teeth and your permanent teeth.

Keeping your teeth, gums, and mouth clean and healthy can prevent diseases and infections, and can help to avoid pain and sickness.

Also, a clean, healthy mouth feels nice, looks good, and keeps your breath fresh.

Your teeth need to be cleaned really well.

Twice a day.

This is because bacteria in your mouth grow on your teeth and around the gums every day.

This is called dental plaque.

Acids or poisons are made in the plaque, and these attack the teeth and gums and cause disease.

If you keep your teeth clean and healthy everyday, you will avoid problems like tooth decay, tooth ache, bleeding gums, yellow teeth, and bad breath.

There are three main ways that we can create the perfect smile.

By brushing our teeth regularly, flossing, and by making sure we don't eat too many sugary foods.

Okay, so this is my demonstration on how to brush your teeth.

You can do one and two in any order.

So make sure you have a pea-sized amount of toothpaste and the toothbrush is aimed at a 45 degree angle towards your gum line.

Thereafter, just like you're seeing in the video, use a circular motion to brush your teeth, and don't forget to repeat the same on the inside surface and behind your teeth as well.

Thereafter, move onto the back of your teeth.

These are known as your molars.

We use them for chewing our food.

Use a light back and forth motion on the chewing surfaces.

And finally, you probably won't see this in the video, but spit out the toothpaste after you finish brushing.

So, now that I've shown you how to brush your teeth, can you write down the different steps on how you can do this? Pause the video and carry out this task.

Okay, so did you manage to write down the steps for how to brush your teeth? You did? Brilliant.

So, this is what I wrote down.

Aim the toothbrush at a 45 degree angle towards the gum line.

Use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.

Use a gentle circular motion to brush your teeth.

Repeat on the inside surfaces.

Use a light back and forth motion on the chewing surfaces.

And finally, spit out the toothpaste after brushing.

Did you get that? Brilliant.

Well done everyone.

Okay so it's so important to choose the right toothbrush.

In most toothbrushes, the bristles, okay, which are the end of your toothbrush and made out of nylon.

Nylon is a synthetic fibre which is strong and flexible.

It doesn't degrade or break down in water or with other types of ingredients usually found in toothpaste, which makes for a toothbrush with a longer usable life.

Scientists and dentists both recommend using soft bristles to brush your teeth, because they easily remove plaque from the tooth surface without damaging your tooth enamel or your gums. Okay, so now it's your turn.

Your task today is to write instructions on how to create a million dollar smile.

Okay, so, this is one that I created on steps on how to create a million dollar smile, okay? So these are the things that I have included and I want you to include them in your own instructions also.

So the first thing you need is a what you will need section.

Make sure you include things that your audience needs to have with them.

Then, you'll have to write down the steps to a million dollar smile.

A diagram so you can show your audience exactly what it looks like before and after.

And finally, some top tips to help them create that million dollar smile.

So just a quick reminder, in order to be successful in today's task, you need to include a what you will need section, you'll need to include the steps to creating a million dollar smile, you'll have to include the top tips, include a diagram, and make it as well as possible.

Pause the video and carry out the task.
