In this unit, pupils have learned how to write compound sentences using co-ordinating conjunctions. In 'Lucky Dip: Narrative Writing', pupils will learn how to use joining conjunctions to write complex sentences. 

In 'Jack and the Beanstalk', pupils learned how to write a series of mostly simple sentences to form a narrative. In this unit, pupils will begin to extend their ideas by writing compound sentences. 

In this unit, pupils write their own version of the short animation 'Otherwise'. Pupils write a narrative opening, build-up and climax, building on their understanding of beginning, middle, end narrative structuring from Year 1. Pupils edit their own writing at the end of the unit.
