Hello and welcome students.

It's Mr Latif once again, and today's learning is going to be a bit different.

So the key thing we're looking at today is to recap and to practise.

So today's learning will have the opportunity to recap and to revisit our learning from the first four lessons.

And we'll be able to revisit, revise and reflect on your learning so far.

So today's lesson, will consist of a number of different true or false questions, multiple choice, and to summarise as well.

And there's five things that you need as always, which are your exercise book or paper, a black or blue pen, a different coloured pen for any corrections.

And there's two key things that I've been using a lot with me so far, there's attentive ears and your curious brain.

So to set attentive ears will be very important because you won't be seeing me on the screen as much today because there'll be a full screen on true or false.

Do you need to be listening and ensuring that you are consistently writing down the right answers for any mistakes that you make.

So hopefully you are able to recall a lot of your learning from the last four weeks, and let's see how well you do for your learning today.

Okay.

Are you ready? Lets have an opportunity to recap our learnings so far.

So just a reminder, that you will need a pen or pencil paper, a different coloured pen, also the attentive ears and a curious brain.

And just for a moment, you won't be seeing me as I go over a number of questions.

But when answer the question, I'm going to give you five seconds to write down, whether you think is true or false.

So let's get into our learning for today.

The first question in terms of to recap and to revisit your learning is the following, Prophet Ibrahim is a significant prophet for Muslims, true or false? And you should have the following.

It is true.

Remember that Prophet Ibrahim is a very significant prophet for Muslims because he was a pious individual and he was someone who called the people to Tawhid.

Question number two, Prophet Ibrahim was famous for calling people towards polytheism, true or false? Just pause the video for a moment and we will come back to our answer.

And the answer is, it's false.

He called people towards monotheism.

Next question, how are you doing so far? Hopefully two out of two.

Question three, Prophet Ibrahim failed one test given to him by Allah? Pause the video now.

And hopefully you're back with me now.

And the answer is the following, it is false.

He did not fail any of the tests that were given to him by Allah.

So for that reason, he is seen as a individual who submitted and was pious towards God.

Question four, I think, isn't it? Prophet Ibrahim was put into a fire by an angry mob, true or false? You can pause the video and will come back to it.

It is true.

Remember they put him in the fire because they were really annoyed that Prophet Ibrahim had decided to break all the idols.

Next question, Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Muhammad called people towards Tawhid, true or false? The answer is true.

Remember both of these prophets called people towards worshipping Allah and Allah alone.

Prophet Ishmael destroyed the idols, true or false? And the answer is, remember it's false.

It was his father, Prophet Ibrahim.

Next question, Allah cooled the fire, which saved Prophet Ibrahim, true or false? And the answer is true.

Remember, this is one of the miracles that Allah did, which indicated that the Prophet Ibrahim was a prophet and he was a chosen individual by Allah.

Next question, Ishmael had a dream to sacrifice Ibrahim, true or false? The answer is it is false.

Remember Ibrahim had a dream to sacrifice his son, Ishmael, not the other way around.

Ishmael built the Kaaba by himself, true or false? Remember it's is false because Ishmael built the Kaaba with his father Ibrahim.

So he didn't do it just by himself.

Id ul Fitr is the Id which commemorates the events in the life of Prophet Ibrahim, true or false? Hopefully you got your answer down.

Remember, this is false.

It is Eid al-Adha not Id ul Fitr.

And your next question, Prophet Muhammad was an orphan.

Give it a go true or false.

And the answer that you should have is, it is true.

Remember, that Prophet Muhammad was an orphan who lost both his mother and his father at a very young age and was raised up by his paternal uncle, Abu Talib.

Next question, the revelation of the Qur'an occurred in 622, true or false? And this is false Remember the revelation of the Qur'an occurred in 610, not 622.

Prophet Muhammad was born in 570 Common Era, true or false? The answer that you should have, it is true because remember there's 40 years between his birth and the first revelation.

Next question, Prophet Muhammad is from the family tree of Prophet Ibrahim, true or false? And it is true.

He is a descendant from Prophet Ibrahim.

Next question, the Qur'an is the word of Prophet Muhammad, true or false? This one we should do all remember, this is false.

It is the direct and the divine word of Allah.

It is not the words of the prophet because the prophet was illiterate.

Next question, Al Amin was one of the nicknames of the Prophet Muhammad, true or false? And your answers should be true.

You remember the event or you should remember the event between the Quraysh when Kaaba was destroyed and they were rebuilding it, and they called the Prophet Muhammad to be the individual to settle disputes of the Black Stone in the corner.

And they cried and called him Al Amin, the trust worthy.

Next question, the Qur'an was revealed all in one night, true or false? And the answer is it is false.

Remember it occurred over 23 years in two cities, both Mecca and Medina.

The Qur'an is a revelation of God, but all revelation did not occur on one single night.

Next question, there was much hostility from the people of Makkah when the Prophet Muhammad publicly preached, true or false? Lets, think about it.

And the answer is, it is true.

Remember there was much hostility when the Prophet Muhammad went public with his preaching.

The Prophet Muhammad died in 632 Common Era.

This is something you should definitely know the right answer to, true or false.

And it is true.

Remember the correction that we have been making for the last few weeks, it says 632, not 623.

So how did you do, how many answers did you get right? Have you tallied up? Check and see now.

Afterwards, I would like for you to do the following.

So we've done much true or false.

You had a bit of a brain tease.

That's a start off with.

Now I would like you to pause the video and to answer the following question.

Explain why Prophet Ibrahim and the Prophet Muhammad are important for Muslims today? So I suggest three minutes, one paragraph, let's get going.

And I'll see you all just in a moment.

So what did you write? You should have had an answer that looks like the following.

Please ensure that you check the answer on the next slide whilst I just disappear for a moment so you can read it.

And if there's anything that you need to add, please ensure that you are doing so.

Muslims believe that the Prophet Ibrahim and the Prophet Muhammad are important today because there were both prophets chosen by Allah to reveal to humankind about the nature of Allah, especially the belief in Tawhid.

Both of these prophets called people to worship Allah alone and to reject polytheism.

Prophet Ibrahim is famous for building the Kaaba with his son, Prophet Ishmael and both of these prophets performed the Hajj pilgrimage, which is one of the five pillars of Islam.

So they're referring to Ibrahim and also of Prophet Muhammad.

Muslims believe that miracles were done by Allah to both of these prophets.

and the Prophet Ibrahim was saved from the fire whilst Prophet Muhammad was given the revelation of the Qur'an, which is seen as a miracle as it's not distorted and not changed since its revelation, unlike previous revelations.

So if there is anything important that you can see in blue that is missing from your answer, I really suggest right now you spend five minutes just to pause this video and to ensure that you've got those notes in good detail.

So now we go to a multiple choice one, for this part of the video, you'll just be hearing my voice so you can see the whole question and you have four options.

I would like for you to pick what you believe is the correct option.

And you have 10 seconds for each question.

What does jahiliyyah mean? Is it Muhammad, trustworthy, state of ignorance or states of knowledge? You have 10 seconds.

Three, two, one.

You should have had, it's a state of ignorance, which refers to a time pre-Islam in Arabia.

Next question, what examples of injustices occurred during the life of the Prophet Muhammad? Was it the killing of female infants, inequality of orphans and women, tribalism, or all of the above? You've got 10 seconds.

Three, two, and one, you should have had all of the above.

These are all examples of injustices that occurred during the life of Prophet Muhammad and remember with the revelation of the Qur'an, society went from a place of injustice to a place of justice.

Where does the term Sunni come from? Is it from the term Ahl Al Bayt, from the term Tawhid, from the term Sunnah or from the term Qur'an? You got 10 seconds.

Hope you got five seconds and two and one, you should have had from the term Sunnah, meaning the way of the prophet.

What is the population of Sunni Muslims today? So we're going to go a bit more quicker now, I'm only going to give you seven, seven seconds starting from now.

And that's seven seconds.

You should have had 85%.

Next question, who did your Sunnis believe was the first caliph? Seven seconds again, that's time, you should have had Abu Bakr.

Next question, who do the Shi'a believe should have been the first caliph of Islam? And three, two, one, Ali.

And the next question, what is a population of Shi'a Muslims today? If you answered the previous one correctly, this should be easy for your maths, 15%.

Next question.

What does the term Ahl Al Bayt mean? And the answer you should have had is the family of the house.

And remember this refers to the grandsons and Ali when we look at the male authorities of Ahl Al Bayt.

Next question, what is a caliph? Is it a leader of all of humankind, a king, a new prophet or successor of the Muslim community? You got seven seconds, and three, two, one, you should have had a successor of the Muslim community.

And what is, an imam in Shi'a tradition? Is a prophet, a king, a chosen authority from the bloodline or chosen authority who is elected.

Five seconds.

And the answer you should have had is a chosen authority from the blood line.

Welcome back and hope you enjoyed that multiple choice.

And I hope you got lots of good answers there.

So any corrections please ensure that you rewind and make any corrections that are needed to be done.

So another small task here, just a small paragraph.

It's five minutes, please.

I would like for you to explain one key difference between leadership in the Sunni and the Shi'a tradition? And I will see you in five minutes.

So if you pause the video here, you write down the question and then we'll go over the answer together.

Okay.

And welcome back.

So the answer that you should have had is the following, one key difference between leadership in the Sunni and the Shi'a tradition is that Sunni's believe the first leader was Abu Bakr who was elected and chosen by the companions and for the Shi'a tradition they believe the first leader should have been of the imams who are from the bloodline of the Prophet Muhammad.

And that is very important for the Shi'a school of thought that is from the bloodline because from the bloodline, they are from Ahl Al Bayt and they're seen as infallible in their knowledge.

And they're seen as chosen people by Allah and the Prophet Muhammad.

Now we get into our next part of learning for a few more questions.

So multiple choice round again, let's do this.

How many roots are there in Usul ad-Din? Is it four, five, six or seven, and you've got five seconds again.

And the answer you should have had is five.

Next question, imamate is what root in Usul ad-Din? Is it four, is it five, is it one or is it not a root? And the answer you should have had is number four.

Next question, what is a imamate? Is it the belief in Ali, the belief in authority of the imams, the belief only Ali, Hassan and Hussain or the belief in any Muslims? Are you ready? And the answer is believe in authority of the imam.

Where do the imams come from? Is it Scotland, Ireland, the family of the prophet or none of the above.

Five seconds.

And the answer you should have had, yes, we know this, the family of the prophet.

Next question, who is the first imam? Is it Hasan, Al-Mahdi, Abu Bakr or Ali? And your answer should be Ali.

Next question, what is the name of the Hadith, which signifies evidence for the Shi'a tradition that Prophet Muhammad had a chosen successor? The Hadith of the Turban, the Hadith the Pond, the Hadith of the Sermon or the Hadith of the Cloak? And for this, I'll give you 10 seconds because it's quite a long question.

And two, one, you should have had the Hadith of the Cloak.

And remember what the prophet Mohammed does he wraps his grandchildren and Ali and Fatimah together.

And he says they purified from any uncleanliness.

Next question, true or false imams are infallible according to the Shi'a tradition? Really quickly, five, four, three, two, and one.

Remember it is true.

They are infallible, they and they have divine guidance and have divine knowledge.

Perfect and welcome back once again, students.

So another small question for you to answer, to really recap the last four weeks of your learning.

So the question I have here is why is imamates so important for the Shi'a Muslims? So five minutes I would like you just to pause here and will come back together once again and look at the correct answer.

Okay, welcome back.

Let's look at your answer unless you got any corrections that you need to be made.

So I'm just going to disappear for just one moment.

As I show you the answer that you should have.

Explain why imamate is important for Shi'a tradition? In the Shi'a tradition, imamate is important as it is one of the five roots of Usul al-Din being the fourth out of the five.

It's his believed that Allah has chosen authorities on earth to lead Muslims after the death of Prophet Muhammad, which come from his family, known Ahl Al Bayt.

For this reason they believe Ali should have been the first caliph and the first successor, after the death of the Prophet Muhammad.

Shi'a Muslims believe there are 12 imams and that they are infallible, have knowledge, and they're chosen by Allah.

And it is believed that there is evidence in the Qur'an and also the Hadith of the Cloak which shows that the family of the prophet were significant and special.

So if there's anything that you need to add onto your answer, I really, really hope the key things that are written in red that you have in your answer.

If you do not please ensure that you add them around your paragraph, please, and I give you an opportunity now to pause if needed be.

And that is the end of our first recap and practise lessons.

So I really, really hope you enjoyed that.

And hopefully you're absolutely smashed out the park with all your great work that you've been doing on this unit on Islam and beliefs.

So for the next lesson, we'll be looking at the six articles of faith.

And I really, really look forward to seeing your work.

Now there's one more thing left to do.

Yes, it's been a big quiz, but as one small question left, and it's just five questions for you to answer.

So please ensure after watching this video, you have an opportunity to answer the quiz.

That's all for myself, Mr Latif, and I really look forward to seeing you next week.

Take care.
