Today we are going to learn to identify the rhythm of a song, to use Ta, Titi and Sh to represent the rhythm, to listen and repeat simple patterns and to create our own simple patterns.

In this lesson, you will need your body.

I've got a new song for you today and it goes like this.

Here, I've got four hearts and I'm going to create my own rhythm.

On your paper, you can draw four hearts and underneath each heart, you can either put a Ta, a Titi, or a Sh.

I've added a Ta under my first heart.

a Titi under the second one, then another Ta, and lastly a Sh.

I can read this pattern.

It goes like this: Ta, Titi, Ta, Sh.

I can clap it, too.

It goes like this.

Why don't you have a go now, putting your own pattern underneath your four hearts on your paper.
