Hi everyone, I'm Ms. Boyd and I'll be your music teacher today.

In today's lesson, we're going to practise following and responding to musical signals.

We will experiment with different types of movement in response to what we hear and we'll practise singing a variety of melodic patterns.

But before we get started, should we begin with a hello song? ♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Hello hello ♪ ♪ It's good to see you ♪ ♪ Hello hello ♪ ♪ It's good to see you ♪ ♪ I must say you have made my day ♪ ♪ Hello hello, hello ♪ Now it's time for us to go to space.

I would like you to follow my musical actions.

Are you ready? ♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Zoom, zoom, zoom ♪ ♪ We're going to the moon ♪ ♪ Zoom, zoom, zoom ♪ ♪ We'll be back very soon ♪ Five, four, three, two, one.

Lift off! Should we try that again? Just in case we didn't get all the way to space that first time.

Okay, if you know the actions stand up and have a go at singing this really loud with me.

Are you ready? ♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Zoom, zoom, zoom ♪ ♪ We're going to the moon ♪ ♪ Zoom, zoom, zoom ♪ ♪ We'll be back very soon ♪ Five, four, three, two, one.

Lift off! Okay, everyone.

I'd like you to close your eyes and imagine we are on our way to space.

What can you see on your way? What can you see around you? Listening ears on and eyes closed.

Whoa! That was really, really cool music.

What did you see in your imagination? Yeah, I could see some planets and some stars and some spaceships.

Let's have another listen.

Goodness.

There was a lot there.

Well done for doing such great listening.

We're going to have a lesson one more time.

And this time I'd like you to point to the things that you can see in your imagination.

Tell me if you can see some stuff and tell me if you can see some spaceships.

I would like you to do some pointing when you think you can hear and see something new in your imagination.

Are you ready? Oh, there's so much to see in space.

Now for our next song, we are going to learn some new actions.

Now, when I was looking around space, I could see loads of stars.

Could you? Yeah, they were so bright.

And do you know what? I think some of them were winking at me.

We're going to sing a song about stars.

And these stars, they're very noted to pick up to shoot off into the sky and never come back.

So when we sing the words, one shot off.

I'd like you to phew, do a little sign to show me that that star has gone.

Okay.

♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Four little stars winking at me ♪ ♪ One shot off, phew ♪ ♪ And then there were three ♪ ♪ Three little stars with nothing to do ♪ ♪ One shot off, phew ♪ ♪ And then there were two ♪ ♪ Two little stars afraid of the sun ♪ ♪ One shot off, phew ♪ ♪ And then there was one ♪ ♪ One little star not having any fun ♪ ♪ One shot off, phew ♪ ♪ And there were none ♪ Great work guys, let's sing that again.

Now you've learned the tune.

♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Four little stars winking at me ♪ ♪ One shot off, phew ♪ ♪ And then there were three ♪ ♪ Three little stars with nothing to do ♪ ♪ One shot off, phew ♪ ♪ And then there were two ♪ ♪ Two little stars afraid of the sun ♪ ♪ One shot off, phew ♪ ♪ And then there was one ♪ ♪ One little star not having any fun ♪ ♪ It shot off, phew ♪ ♪ And there were none ♪ Great work.

Now when we're in space, there isn't any gravity.

So sometimes that can feel really floaty.

This song is all about that.

We're going to practise bouncing high, bouncing low, whizzing around and coming back down.

Okay.

So I'm going to teach you this song, when I go like this, it's my turn.

And then when I go like this it's an invitation for you to sing with me.

It's your turn.

You ready? ♪ Off I go ♪ ♪ Bounce high ♪ ♪ Bounce low ♪ ♪ Up we whizz ♪ ♪ And down we go ♪ ♪ Your turn ♪ ♪ Bounce high ♪ ♪ Bounce low ♪ ♪ Up we whizz ♪ ♪ And down we go ♪ Excellent, let's try that again.

♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Bounce high ♪ ♪ Bounce low ♪ ♪ Up we whizz ♪ ♪ And down we go ♪ So good, let's try one more time.

♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Bounce high ♪ ♪ Bounce low ♪ ♪ Up we whizz ♪ ♪ And down we go ♪ When it's almost time for us to go back to earth.

Now I know it's so fun in space, isn't it? To send us off, we are going to listen to the same music we had at the beginning of this lesson.

Now that you know what to expect.

I want to see you experimenting with the different types of movement in response to what we can hear.

You hear something and in your imagination you think you can see a planet.

I want you to point to that planet.

And if you think you can see a star in there, beautiful and you can say, wow, that, okay.

I want to see those reactions to what you can hear.

Are you ready? Oh, we're back.

Thanks for coming to space with me guys.

It was such good fun, wasn't it? In this lesson you've covered so much and I don't think you even realised it.

We practise responding to musical signals.

You had an, you experimented with different types of movement when you responded to what you heard.

And we practised singing a variety of melodic patterns.

Great, great work.

Well done.

But before we go, we have to say goodbye properly with our goodbye song.

Are you ready? ♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Goodbye, goodbye ♪ ♪ It's time to go now ♪ ♪ Goodbye, goodbye ♪ ♪ It's time to go now ♪ ♪ I must say, you've made my day ♪ ♪ Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye ♪ If you'd like to share some of the music we've made together today, feel free to ask your parent or carer to share your work on social media.
