Hi everyone, I'm Ms. Boyd, and I'll be your music teacher today.

In this music lesson, we are going to follow and respond to musical signals.

We're going to practise experimenting with different types of movement as we respond to music.

And we're going to practise singing lots of different melodic and rhythmic patterns.

But before we get started it should we begin with a hello song.

♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Hello hello ♪ ♪ Its good to see you ♪ ♪ Hello hello ♪ ♪ It's good to see you ♪ ♪ I must say ♪ ♪ You've made my day ♪ ♪ Hello hello hello ♪ We're about to make our way to space.

Do you want to come with me? Excellent.

Let's start by singing this warmup song.

I would like you to follow my musical signals.

When I go like this, It's my turn to sing.

And when I go like that, it's your turn to join in with me.

Are you ready? ♪ Off I go ♪ ♪ Zoom zoom zoom ♪ ♪ Were going to the moon ♪ ♪ Zoom zoom zoom ♪ ♪ Were going very soon ♪ ♪ If you want to take a trip ♪ ♪ Climb on board my rocket ship ♪ ♪ Zoom zoom zoom ♪ ♪ Were going to the moon ♪ Great singing.

Let's have another go.

This time let's sing the whole song together.

Are you ready? ♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Zoom zoom zoom ♪ ♪ Were going to the moon ♪ ♪ Zoom zoom zoom ♪ ♪ We're going very soon ♪ ♪ If you want to take a trip ♪ ♪ Climb on board my rocket ship ♪ ♪ Zoom zoom zoom ♪ ♪ We're going to the moon.

♪ Excellent singing.

Let's sing this one more time but this time let's use some actions.

Let's get our spaceships ready.

♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Zoom zoom zoom ♪ ♪ We're going to the moon ♪ ♪ Zoom zoom zoom ♪ ♪ We're going very soon ♪ ♪ If you want to take a trip ♪ ♪ Climb on board my rocket ship ♪ ♪ Zoom zoom zoom ♪ ♪ We're going to the moon ♪ Great singing everyone.

Okay, as we make our way to space we're going to listen to some special music.

I would like you to close your eyes and imagine what you might see as you make your way to space.

Are you ready? Listening is on, eyes closed.

Whoa, there was lots going on there.

What did you think you could see in your imagination? Great ideas.

I definitely felt like we were flying really fast that time.

Some of the musical instruments were making lots of sound that were going upwards, and they were moving really fast.

It made me think that our spaceship was flying really quickly.

We're going to listen to that piece of music again.

This time, I want you to keep your eyes open, but imagine.

But let's imagine we're on our way to space.

I want you to point out to me what you can hear and what you can see in space.

Are you ready? What did you see in your imagination? Yeah, there were loads.

I definitely could see some stars and some planets and some spaceships, as we were going up into space.

Goodness me.

Right, now that we're here.

Can I show you something that I saw on my musical journey? Five little men in a flying saucer.

Did you see them as well? Goodness me.

We're going to have a go now singing a song about those five little men in a flying saucer.

Can you have a go with me? If you know this song already, join in.

If not, have a listen.

I will sing again in a moment.

We start with five little men and we go down to four, then three, then two, then one.

Are you ready? ♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Five little men in a flying saucer ♪ ♪ Flew round the earth one day ♪ ♪ They looked left and right ♪ ♪ But they didn't like the sight.

♪ ♪ So one man flew way.

♪ ♪ Whoosh ♪ ♪ Four little men in a flying saucer ♪ ♪ Flew round the earth one day ♪ ♪ They looked left and right ♪ ♪ But they didn't like the sight.

♪ ♪ So one man flew away ♪ ♪ Whoosh ♪ ♪ Three little men in a flying saucer ♪ ♪ Flew round the earth one day ♪ ♪ They looked left and right ♪ ♪ But they didn't like the sight.

♪ ♪ So one man flew away ♪ ♪ Whoosh ♪ ♪ Two little men in a flying saucer ♪ ♪ Flew round the earth one day ♪ ♪ They looked left and right ♪ ♪ But they didn't like the sight ♪ ♪ So one man flew away ♪ ♪ Whoosh ♪ ♪ One little man in a flying saucer ♪ ♪ Flew round the earth one day ♪ ♪ They looked left and right ♪ ♪ But they didn't like the sight.

♪ ♪ So one man flew a way ♪ ♪ Whoosh ♪ Excellent actions everyone.

I'm getting really tired after all of that whooshing about.

This next song is all about the stars that we can see when we're floating in space.

I'll go like this for my turn.

And when I go like that, it's your turn to join me.

Are you ready? ♪ Off I go ♪ ♪ Starlight ♪ ♪ Starbright ♪ ♪ First star i see tonight ♪ ♪ Wish I may wish I might ♪ ♪ Have the wish I wish tonight ♪ ♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Starlight ♪ ♪ Starbright ♪ ♪ First star I see tonight ♪ ♪ Wish I may wish I might ♪ ♪ Have the wish I wish tonight ♪ Should we do that one more time ♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Starlight ♪ ♪ Starbright ♪ ♪ First star I see tonight ♪ ♪ Wish I may wish I might ♪ ♪ Have the wish I wish tonight ♪ Oh, that was so relaxing.

I think it's time to start heading back down to earth now.

We're going to listen to the same piece of music that we heard in our space journey on the way here.

Remember to point when you can hear something in the music that you can also see in space.

So cool Well done today everyone, you did a great job responding to those musical signals.

I could tell that you were experimenting with the different movements when you heard the music on our space journey, and you practise singing lots of different melodic and rhythmic patterns.

Well done.

But before we go we have to say goodbye properly with our goodbye song.

Are you ready? ♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Goodbye goodbye ♪ ♪ It's time to go now ♪ ♪ Goodbye goodbye ♪ ♪ It's time to go now ♪ ♪ I must say you've made my day ♪ ♪ Goodbye goodbye goodbye ♪ If you'd like to share some of the music we've made together today, feel free to ask your parent or carer to share your work on social media.
