Hi everyone.

I'm Miss Boyd and I'll be your music teacher today.

In this lesson, we are going to practise following and responding to musical signals.

You'll have the opportunity to experiment with different types of movement as you respond to what you hear.

And you'll get a chance to practise loads of different melodic and rhythmic patterns.

But before we get started, should we begin with a hello song? ♪ Off we go ♪ ♪ Hello hello, it's good to see you ♪ ♪ Hello hello, it's good to see you ♪ ♪ I must say, you've made my day ♪ ♪ Hello, hello, hello ♪ Okay, are you ready to go to space with me? Excellent.

For us to get there, we need to take a musical journey into space we're going to do some really good listening.

And as we listen to this piece of music, I want you to imagine what you can see on your way to space.

Can you see stars, planets, people, aliens? Let's have a lesson.

I'd like you to close your eyes for this first time.

♪ Ground control to Ma-- ♪ Whoa, there were lots of sounds in there, wasn't there? What instruments do you think you heard? Hmm, this time, we're going to listen again, but we're going to keep our eyes open.

I want you to imagine that you can see different things on our way to space.

If you'd like to, point to them and have a look at the things that you can see in your imagination.

Are you ready? Wow.

♪ Ground ♪ What did you see on your journey to space? Yeah, I saw some stars and some planets! And I think I saw the moon, as well.

Great listening.

Now for our next space activity, We're going to to sing a well-known song, "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." However, we're going to sing it differently.

We're going to play with the melody, the main tune.

When I go like this, it's my turn.

And when I go like that, it's your turn to copy me.

Are you ready? I'll sing the song once through, just in case you've never heard of it before, and then we'll get started.

I'd like you to wave goodbye to the planets and the moon and the stars, and anything else you can see on your musical journey in your imagination.
