♪ We're going to recycle the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

I would like our story to still be about Goldilocks, but I'd love to change our setting.

So instead of a deep dark green forest and then a tiny cottage, where shall we choose? Our story could be set on a beach.

Our story could be set in a rainforest, or our story could be set in the desert.

Which one are you going to choose? The beach, the rainforest or the desert.

I'm going to set my story on the beach.

I'd love you now, to close your eyes and listen as I describe my beach scene to you.

The waves are crashing against the shore.

Untouched golden sand covers the floor as far as your eyes can see.

A gentle sea breeze ruffles your hair and the smell of the salty water floats up your nose as you take a deep breath in.

Is your setting a beach like mine? Or are you going to choose somewhere else? If you need a moment to think pause the video while you choose your setting.

Okay, let's start.

I've already decided that my character is going to be Goldilocks.

So we're going to introduce our character of Goldilocks right at the beginning.

And Goldilocks is going to live on the beach and she's going to live in a cave.

Here's my picture of a cave.

So once upon a time, there was a little girl called Goldilocks with long golden hair who lived in a cave on a golden sandy beach.

And every day, she went for a walk along the seashore.

And as she walked she sang, ♪ Goldilocks, Goldilocks, ♪ ♪ What shall I do today? ♪ ♪ Maybe I'll swim.

♪ ♪ Maybe I'll surf ♪ ♪ Maybe in the sand I'll play.

♪ And to remind me of that song I'm going to draw a little musical note.

Now one day, as Goldilocks was walking along the beach, she noticed something in the sand.

What was that? As she bent down to pick it up it started to move.

"But", thought Goldilocks.

"It looks like a star.

"How could a star be in the sand "and start to move?" Going to draw my star, just here.

The shiny glittering star was moving faster and faster but Goldilocks desperately wanted it.

So she ran and ran as fast as she could and chased after the star until she caught it.

She grabbed it and held it in her hands.

And that is supposed to be a hand.

Not particularly clear, but as long as Miss Doherty knows what it is, that's what matters.

She chased and chased, ran as fast as she could until she caught up at the star and grabbed it and took it back to her cave.

The next morning, she woke up and went to look at her star.

But she noticed something really worrying.

The star wasn't as shiny as it had been the day before.

"Nevermind", thought Goldilocks.

"Perhaps it's just because we're inside.

"I'll take it out into the sun." So she took the star out of the cave.

And in her hand she felt that it started to move.

It started to wiggle and wriggle as if it was trying to escape.

"Oh no, you don't", thought Goldilocks.

"You're my shining star "and I want to keep you all to myself." They sat out in the sun for a while, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

The star was still getting duller and duller by the moment.

Oh dear, Goldilocks started to feel sad.

"All I wanted was a pretty star.

"All of my own to light up my cave.

"But it's losing its shine.

"It's losing its shimmer.

"What shall I do?" What do you think Goldilocks should do there? I wonder why the star is losing its shine and losing its shimmer.

I wonder if it's because she's stolen it.

She's taken something that isn't hers just like in the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

How can she put this right? Suddenly she saw a little girl walking towards her.

Wearing a pretty pink dress.

But as the little girl got closer, she realised it wasn't a little girl at all.

It was actually a little bear.

"Hello Goldilocks", said the bear.

"What have you got there?" And so Goldilocks told the bear all about how every day she walks by the sea.

And one day as she was walking along the shore and singing her song, she spotted a shining shimmering star in the sand.

As she bent down to pick it up, it started to move away from her.

She ran and ran until she grabbed it and took she back to her cave, but she noticed the next morning that it was getting duller.

She'd taken it outside in the sun and it was still getting duller and duller.

"Mmh", said the bear.

"Do you think Goldilocks, "the star wanted to come into your cave?" "But I wanted the star", said Goldilocks.

"Maybe the star belongs in the sea "and in the sand and not in your cave, "and that's where it's beautiful and bright and shiny." Goldilocks thought long and hard about what the bear was saying.

She knew she shouldn't take something that didn't belong to her, but she hadn't really thought about how the star might feel, and whether the star would mind.

"Why don't you ask the star?" Said the bear.

So Goldilocks opened her hands and the star started to wriggle.

And the Goldilocks said, "Would you like to go back to the sea?" And the star nodded one of its points.

Goldilocks felt sad, but she carried the star over to the shore and let it down.

And every day from then on, as she went for her walks, singing her song, the star came up to say hello, and to thank her for listening and for respecting it's need to stay in its home.

Now it's your turn to make up a story, all of your own.

Maybe yours will be set on the beach like mine, or perhaps you chose another setting.

That's okay.

What I want you to do now, is just like I've done draw some pictures or jot down some words to help you remember your story.

It can be about anything you want, as long as it's still about Goldilocks.

And the setting that you chose earlier.

Pause the video now to complete your task and resume once you're finished.

Shall we sing Goldilocks' new song before we go.

♪ Goldilocks, Goldilocks ♪ ♪ What shall I do today? ♪ ♪ Maybe I'll swim, Maybe I'll surf, ♪ ♪ maybe in the sand I'll play.
