Hello, everybody, my name's Miss Hughes.

What's your name? It's great to meet you.

I'm so excited for these set of lessons where we learn all about me.

You have a go of saying that, all about me.

You'll do lesson one with me, Miss Hughes, lesson two with Miss Sidenius, and lesson three, with Mrs. Garrard.

And we're going to start by learning about our favourite things.

We'll do that by listening to a story, then, you'll hear about my favourite thing.

And then, I want to know your favourite things.

You're going to need your listening ears, so let's turn them on.

You're going to need a box to collect your things in, and you're going to need some items to put inside the box.

Now that have you already got some ideas of what you want, you can pause the video here and get them, or you have chance to pause later on.

Great, let's begin by listening to a story.

And this story is all about our favourite things.

Can you show me that favourite action? My turn favourite, your turn, favourite are the things we like best, they're the things we like best which a lots of you are telling your screen.

And one of my favourite thing is sprout ice cream.

Sprout ice cream is my favourite flavour ice cream, so it must be your favourite flavour ice cream too, is it? No.

Oh, so you don't like sprout ice cream? But it's my favourite.

That means then we all have different favourite things.

How interesting.

And now I'm going to tell you a story about someone who plans a party with all of their favourite things.

This is Hoff.

Can you say hello, Hoff? And it's a very special day for Hoff because today is Hoff's birthday.

Let's all give her a happy birthday, ready? Happy birthday Hoff.

And this story is called, It's My Birthday.

It was Hoff's birthday and Hoff was feeling super excited, she was going to have a party.

So Hoff went to the shop to buy some things for her birthday party.

Hoff first went to the bakery.

There was a big chocolate cake, there was a rainbow cake, and there was a cake shaped like a unicorn with a horn on its head.

Which is my favourite, thought Hoff.

I'm going to choose the chocolate cake.

So she bought the chocolate cake.

Would do you choose the chocolate cake? Tell your screen.

Next Hoff bought some decorations.

She went to the party shop where they were purple balloons and orange balloons and green balloons.

Hmm thought Hoff.

Which is my favourite? And then she remembered her favourite colour was green.

So Hoff bought all of the green balloons in the shop.

Which colour balloons would you buy? Next Hoff went to the supermarket to choose the food she wanted for her party.

There was fruit and sandwiches and cupcake.

Which is my favourite food, thought Hoff.

And she remembered it was fruit.

So Hoff bought lots of delicious apples and pears and grapes for her party.

Which food would you choose? Finally, Hoff went to the cloth shop to choose her outfit for her party.

This was the hardest choice.

Hoff tried a lots of different outfit.

She tried on some red flared trousers with yellow spots.

She tried on an orange crown, and she tried on a blue dress with pink spots.

Which is my favourite outfit, thought Hoff.

This was a hard decision, but Hoff decided on the red trousers for the yellow spots, so she could do her best dancing.

Hoff went home feeling really excited with all of her favourite things.

She set up a party with chocolate cake and fruit and green balloons and she put on her red trousers.

I feel so happy to have all of my favourite things at my party, thought Hoff.

And she had the best day ever.

That and your turn? Wow, I love that story of It's My Birthday.

I think I would have chosen a chocolate cake like Hoff, because chocolate is my favourite type of cake.

Would you have chosen the chocolate cake? Some of you would have you like the chocolate like me, but some of you prefer the unicorn cake, because unicorns are one of your favourite things.

We all like different things.

Now we're going to hear about some of Miss Hughes's favourite thing.

And I'm going to make an all about me box to put my favourite things in so I can remember them.

Now we all know that we like different things.

We have different favourite foods, different things that we like to do called hobbies, different favourite animals and different favourite colours.

Here is one of my favourite things.

First I'm going to think about my favourite food.

Does anybody know what this is? My favourite foods are peaches.

I like peaches because they are healthy and they taste delicious.

So I'm going to put the peach inside the box of my favourite things.

Now I'm going to think about my favourite hobby.

And my favourite thing to do is run because it makes me feel super happy inside when I run.

Hmm, I can't put me running in the box, what can I use? I know, I like to run races and my favourite race that I've ever run was a marathon, and I had this big medal at the end because it was a really long way.

So I'm going to put my medal inside the box to represent that my favourite thing is running.

Now I'm going to think about my favourite animal.

And my favourite animals are bears.

I like bears because they are super intelligent and I love learning about them.

My favourite teddy is a bear, his name is Toffee.

Can you give him a wave? So I'm going to put Toffee inside the box of my favourite things.

Now I have one more thing to add.

I'm now going to think about my favourite colour.

I like pink because pink is a bright, happy colour.

Here's a picture of me wearing pink.

And I got pink flowers in my room because they make me feel bright and cheerful.

So to show that I like pink, I'm going to put some pink flowers inside the box.

Now I've got a box full of my favourite things.

It has my favourite food, something to represent my favourite hobby, my running medal, my favourite animal, which is a bear, and my favourite colour, which is pink.

We feel super happy that I have a box of my favourite things.

Now let's think about you.

What are your favourite things? I want you to think, what is your favourite food? Maybe your favourite food is chocolate or pizza or curry or apples.

Put in your head, is there a reason why? Tell your screen, my favourite food is because, you have lots of different favourite foods.

I wonder what you're going to put in the box to show your favourite food.

Maybe ask your grownup, if there's something that you can use or you could draw a picture of it.

Now, I want you to think, what is your favourite hobby? Do you like swimming the best? Do you like building things? Maybe your favourite hobby is to paint or maybe to dance or something different.

Put it in your head, tell your screen my favourite hobby is because you get up to such exciting things, wow.

Think about what you can put in the box.

Keep it in your head for later.

Now I want you to think about your favourite animal.

Maybe you like one of the animals on the screen or maybe you have a different animal that you like the best.

Think about why you like the animal.

Tell your screen my favourite animal is because, well, some of you like some really scary animals the best, some of you like fluffy animals because they are cute.

Now you can't really put a crocodile or an elephant into your box.

So how are you going to show it's your favourite animal? Maybe you draw a picture or you have a toy model of an animal.

And finally, I want you to think about your favourite colour.

Remember my favourite colour was pink because it was bright.

What is your favourite colour? Tell your screen, my favourite colour is because wow, you have so many different choices.

Maybe there's something in your room that that's colour that you could put in that box.

Now it's your time to shine by making your own box of your favourite things.

Number one, get a box.

Number two, fill it with your favourite things.

And number three, the most important part, tell your teddy what's inside the box and why it is special to you.

That's the end of our all about me lesson on our favourite things.
