Hi team.

And welcome to another lesson with me, Mrs Garrard.

Now in today's lesson, we're going to need to go on an autumn walk because we're going to create an autumn collage.

Let me share my screen and we'll go through what we'll need to do in our lesson today.

So the first thing we'll need to do is go on an autumn walk to collect resources.

Then we'll use our resources to create an autumn collage.

And then you'll get to share it with your family and friends at home.

So for this lesson you will need your listening ears and your looking eyes so that you can listen for instructions and look for the resources that you'll need.

You'll need some paper and some glue, and you'll need some found autumn objects.

So let's find out, what can you collect? So you need to be very careful when we're out collecting things.

You have to ask the adult that is supervising you, what is safe to collect? You can pick up things from the floor, but we'll have to check that it's safe.

Some things might not be safe for you to use.

Some of the things that we could use are autumn leaves, fir cones, acorns.

You could use conkers, and feathers, and sycamore seeds.

A really great thing to do is go for a walk along the river or in a park, but you'll have to check to see if there are any restrictions on what you're allowed to gather or not.

Your parent or your carrier could do that for you.

Pause the video now, go for your walk, gather your resources, and come back when you're ready.

Great, now you're ready for the creating part of the lesson.

So you will need to watch the video and listen carefully to my instructions.

Here we go.

I wonder if you'll be able to guess what I'm going to make.

I've got my paper ready and I'm going to put some glue onto the paper.

I've got PVA glue because that's quite strong, and it needs to be quite strong to hold all of the autumn objects onto the paper.

Don't have a glue spreader, so I'm having to improvise and use a lolly stick.

Putting quite a lot of glue on to make sure that my autumn leaves stick to the paper.

As I'm working, have a little think and see if you can guess what I'm making.

Lots of glue.

Now I'm going to start to arrange my leaves on the paper.

These are a really lovely reddy-brown colour leaf.

Thinking about how I should position them on the paper.

Ooh, not enough glue.

Add a little bit more.

Hm, I wonder if you can guess I'm we're making yet? This is the body of an animal.

That's a clue.

Wonder what animal it could be? Hm, the animal I'm making has lots of spikes, and these leaves look a little bit spiky.

That's why I'm using them.

I wonder if you can guess what this animal is.

Going to make the face now.

This might help you.

I'm going to use some more leaves.

These are different colour leaves.

They're a little bit of a lighter brown.

They're a bit crispy.

They've dried out a little bit.

They're a bit crispy.

Sticking it in place.

Can you guess what I'm making yet? Tell the screen if you've guessed.

Oh, I heard some friends have got the right answer.

Let's see.

We'll leave it a little bit longer and see if you can work it out.

Can you guess now? I just need to add his nose, his mouth, and his eyes.

I'm going to use a stem of a leaf for his mouth and a stone for his nose.

And I'm going to draw an eye on some paper.

Can you guess what he is? Tell the screen if you know.

Yes, you're right, I've made a hedgehog, an autumn leaf hedgehog.

Let me see if I can find a better picture of it for you.

Let's see.

There he is with his eye.

Can you see how I drew it on a piece of paper and cut it out and stuck it on? It's a little hedgehog.

Hm, I wonder if you can create any other creatures from the autumn resources that you find.

I chose to do a hedgehog.

You might choose to do something else.

Maybe you could do a squirrel or an owl.

Team, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you decide to create.

If you'd like to share your creations with me, you can share your work with Oak National by asking your parent or your carer to share your work on Instagram, or Facebook, or Twitter, tagging @OakNational and #LearnwithOak.

I'm super excited to see what you decide to make.

That's the end of our lesson for today.

See you again soon, team.

Bye.
