Hi everyone, and welcome to lesson four in our unit, The Fox's Sack.

I hope you are enjoying our story so far, because today we've got a very exciting lesson.

We're going to be having a go at acting out the story today.

We are going to do some role play, to see if we can work out exactly what is happening in the different parts of the story, then you are going to have a chance to do some acting at home.

Let's see what you're going to need for today's lesson.

For today's lesson, you're going to need your story map from lesson two, if you've still got it.

If you don't have it, don't worry, because you can share mine, I'll put it on the screen for you.

You're also going to need your Teddy Talk Partner, and you're going to need your thinking brain.

If you need to go and find your story map, or your Teddy Talk Partner, press the pause button now, and press play when you're ready.

Coming up in today's lesson, we are going to start off with a special singing game today.

Then we're going to have a go at doing some role play together, and then it will be your turn to do your role play at home.

So our game today is going to start off by helping us to remember the special chants that the different characters sing in the story.

We're going to go through all the characters that have a different kind of chant to say, and we're going to see if we can remember what they say.

We're also going to put some actions on.

Are you ready to help out? Let's go.

So at the beginning of our story, the fox is walking along, he puts his bee in his sack, and then he trots off to come to the first lady's house.

While he's doing this, he sings a song, and he is feeling really, really smug, because in his sack, he's got.

can you remember? A buzzy bee.

And no one knows.

So he sings a special song.

I'm going to have a go first, and then we'll see if we can join in together.

♪ Nobody knows it ♪ ♪ Nobody knows it ♪ ♪ Nobody knows what's in my sack but me ♪ He is very happy and very chirpy.

Can you help me put some actions on? Are you ready to join in? ♪ Nobody knows it ♪ ♪ Nobody knows it ♪ ♪ Nobody knows what's in my sack but me ♪ Should we try once more? ♪ Nobody knows it ♪ ♪ Nobody knows it ♪ ♪ Nobody knows what's in my sack but me ♪ Oh, he was a very, very happy fox, wasn't he? Later on in the story, we meet the women who look in the sack, because they really want to know.

Can you remember the songs that they sing? Can you join in? They are feeling really frustrated.

They really, really, really want to know what's in the sack.

So I'll have a go at saying the words, and then you can join in, and we'll add some actions.

Are you ready? ♪ I want to know ♪ ♪ I really want to know ♪ ♪ I really want to know what's in the sack ♪ Can you join in this time? ♪ I want to know ♪ ♪ I really want to know ♪ ♪ I really want to know what's in the sack ♪ Well done.

So three of the ladies sing this song.

The fourth lady, she sings the song, but she adds a line on at the end.

Can you remember what's special about the fourth lady? Does she look in the sack? She says at the end, "but I won't look." Do you think you can join in, and this time we'll be the fourth lady and we'll say, "but I won't look".

Are you ready? ♪ I want to know ♪ ♪ I really want to know ♪ ♪ I really want to know what's in the sack ♪ ♪ But I won't look ♪ Very good joining in.

Now at the end of our story, the fox sings another song, because he's feeling really sad this time, because he's been tricked.

His song goes a bit like this, and you've got to do a sad voice because he's a sad fox.

♪ Everyone knew ♪ ♪ Everyone knew ♪ ♪ Everyone knew what was in my sack but me ♪ Can you join him with me being the sad fox? ♪ Everyone knew ♪ ♪ Everyone knew ♪ ♪ Everyone knew what was in my sack but me ♪ Poor Mr. Fox.

Oh dear.

He never did get his food, did he? That's because he was tricking people.

Now that we've done our singing, it's time to do some acting.

We are going to role play some different parts of the story, to work out exactly what is happening.

So you're going to need to get yourself into a little bit of space, where you can stand up and move your arms around.

If you could have more space than that, brilliant.

If you need to find some space, press the pause button now, and when you're ready, press the play button.

We'll see you in a minute.

Okay, so we're in our space now, and we are ready to have a go at role playing the story.

So we've got our story map there, and we are ready.

We're going to look at beginning of the story.

So can you see what that first picture is? What's happening at the beginning of the story? The fox is there and he's got his sack.

Our steps were hungry fox.

So, hungry fox.

I am now going to become the fox.

I'm going to have a go at seeing if I can pretend to tell the story, pretending that I am the fox.

Okay, you ready? Ah! I am going to go, and I'm going to get my big sack, and I'm going to fill it up with food, because I am so hungry! I think, I can hear something.

Oh, can you hear that? What is it? I can hear something buzzing.

It's a bee! Got you.

In my sack, you go.

Make it nice and tight so you can't come out.

Ah, I'm ready now.

I'm going to walk all the way to the neighbourhood.

I'm going to come and see some of the ladies and see if they will give me some of their food, too.

Knock knock knock! Hello! I was wondering, can I leave my sack here, while I go to visit my friend? She said yes! Don't look in my sack.

Just don't look.

Did you see how I took on the role of the fox there? And I said the things that I thought he would say in the story.

Let's see if you can pick your favourite part of the story, and have a go at acting it out.

I would like you to press pause on your camera, and have a go at acting out the story yourself.

So, press pause, have a go at choosing your favourite part of the story, seeing if you can act it out, putting on the different voices for the characters, and seeing what they might do and say to each other, and press the play button when you're ready to start.

I loved seeing all of your different acting out.

You all chose so many different parts of the story, so, well done.

We are now at the end of lesson four.

Thank you so much for joining in with all of that acting and role play today.

That really, really helped us to get to grips with exactly what is happening in all the different parts of the story.

I really hope that you can have some fun at home before lesson five, acting out the story.

You might even want to put on a little show for someone in your family.

Have a great time, and I'll see you in lesson five.

Bye!.
