Hello everyone.

It's Miss Doherty here again.

I've got a joke for you.

I wonder if you can work out what the answer's meant to be.

What biscuit is richer than a gingerbread man? In this lesson, you will need an exercise book or paper, a pencil, and of course, your brain.

We're going to start today's lesson by singing a nursery rhyme.

Then, we'll tell the recycled story and we'll finish by stepping the recycled story.

So today's nursery rhyme, I want us to try something a little bit different.

If you were in lesson eight, we sang "Incy Wincy Spider" and we also started to describe "Incy Wincy Spider." I would like us to have a go at making up our very own nursery rhymes.

First, we're going to sing "Incy Wincy Spider." Then, we're going to think about making up a new nursery rhyme using that tune.

Let's sing it first.

♪ Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout ♪ ♪ Down came the rain and washed the spider out ♪ ♪ Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain ♪ ♪ So Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the spout again ♪ Shall we sing that one more time so we really know the tune well? ♪ Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout ♪ ♪ Down came the rain and washed the spider out ♪ ♪ Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain ♪ ♪ So Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the spout again ♪ When I make up songs, I first of all think about what I want it to be about and then, I just play around with it.

Hmm.

Our song could be about the gingerbread man or it could be about the recycled story that I mapped in lesson eight, the pie person.

♪ The pie person was running ♪ Hmm, was the pie person running? No, I'll have to start again.

♪ The pie person ♪ I was going to say the pie person was running, using my arms like this, but I wanted to say the pie person was jumping.

♪ The pie person was jumping, jumping up and down ♪ Can you sing that with me? ♪ The pie person was jumping, jumping up and down ♪ ♪ Escaping from the oven ♪ Let's sing that together ♪ Escaping from the oven and the animals around ♪ ♪ And the animals around ♪ ♪ The pie person was jumping, jumping up and down ♪ ♪ Escaping from the oven and the animals around ♪ Let's try that together.

♪ The pie person was jumping, jumping up and down ♪ ♪ Escaping from the animals, the animals around ♪ ♪ Along came the fox and played a sneaky trick ♪ Let's sing that line together.

♪ Along came the fox and played a sneaky trick ♪ ♪ And that was the end of the pie person ♪ ♪ And that was the end of the pie person ♪ Can you pause the video now and see if you can add some words onto the nursery rhyme? You can use the tune of "Incy Wincy Spider" if you like or you could use you own tune.

Let's tell the story.

If you weren't in our last lesson, you can use my story map on the screen or in the downloadable resources.

Once upon a time, there was a little old lady and a little old man and they lived in a house together.

One day, the little old lady said, "I'm going to bake a pie person." She mixed and she filled and she put the pie in the oven.

All of a sudden, she heard a knocking coming from inside the oven.

She opened the door and out jumped the pie person.

"Jump, jump, as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the pie person." "Stop," said the old lady.

"Jump, jump, as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the pie person.

The old man can't catch me, the old lady can't catch me." Oops, I mean, "The old man can't catch me and you can't catch me." So the pie person carried on jumping until they came to a cat.

"Stop," said the cat, "I want to eat you." "Jump, jump, as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the pie person.

The old man can't catch me, the old lady can't catch me, and you can't catch me." The pie person continued to jump until they came to a dog.

"Stop," said the dog, "I want to eat you." "Jump, jump, as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the pie person.

The old man can't catch me, the old lady can't catch me, the cat can't catch me, and you can't catch me." The pie person continued to jump until they came to a cow.

"Stop," said the cow, "I want to eat you." "Jump, jump, as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the pie person.

The old man can't catch me, the old lady can't catch me, the cat can't catch me, the dog can't catch me, and you can't catch me.

The pie person continued to jump until they came to a river and a fox.

"Jump on my tail," said the fox, "And I will carry you over the river." The pie person jumped onto the fox's tail.

"Jump on my back," said the fox, "I'm sinking into the water." So the pie person jumped onto the fox's back.

"Jump on my head," said the fox, "I'm sinking into the water." So the pie person jumped onto the fox's head.

"Jump on my nose," said the fox, "I'm sinking into the water." So the pie person jumped onto the fox's nose.

The fox lifted his head, shook his nose, and the pie person flew up into the air and-- And that was the end of the pie person.

Now, what I would like you to do is use your story map or mine to tell the story yourself.

I'm going to do the first three sections of the story with you, then, you're going to pause the video and use the story map to step the story yourself.
