Hello everyone.

Today, we're going to draw and label settings.

In this lesson, you will need an exercise book or paper and a pencil.

I hope you're ready.

We're going to start the lesson with some singing.

Then we'll draw the settings.

And finally we'll label the settings.

We're going to sing our setting song.

If you weren't in our earlier lessons, that's okay.

♪ We've just sung all of the settings in the story of Goldilocks and the three bears.

And now we're going to be drawing those settings and labelling them.

I've put three of the settings on the screen, The forest, the kitchen, and the bedroom.

I would love you to have a go at drawing the settings.

There's no right or wrong answer to this because we're just using our imaginations.

But I can tell you a little bit about what I imagined they might look like.

I imagined that the deep dark green forest will have birds singing, but otherwise be quite quiet.

There'll be leaves falling and moss across the floor.

And there'll be logs laid on their side where they've fallen.

There'll be rough tree bark, and sticky sap from the trees, and there'll be wild flowers.

And an earthy smell as you walk through, There'll be twigs, underfoot, and ferns.

And there might be some ivy growing on the trees.

You'll see berries, and it will be quite shady.

The sun will be coming through the leaves.

So there'll be dappled sunlight.

You'll be able to smell the trees, maybe pine trees, and it will smell nutty and earthy.

Now I'm going to describe the kitchen.

The kitchen was light.

The sun was streaming through the window and the cupboards were pale grey with black handles.

And there was a white marble work surface.

There was a big wooden table that the bears all sat round and the sun shone onto that table, the kitchen was so clean.

You could smell the bleach that Daddy Bear used to clean it.

There are cupboards on the walls and those cupboards are full of pots in different sizes.

And all of the spices you can imagine for cooking with.

The bedroom has wooden floorboards and three beds, spaced far apart.

There's a small window and the light and air come through.

The window's almost always open.

There isn't much furniture in the bedroom and there's white walls that make it feel clean and fresh.

The beds are always made in the mornings and there are no clothes scattered across the floor.

The beds have comfortable cushions on for relaxing.

Are my descriptions similar to how you imagined the forest or the kitchen or the bedroom? They might be.

Or they might be completely different.

You're going to choose one of those settings now to draw, pause the video while you draw that setting and resume once you're finished.

Now, it's time to add some labels.

Have a look very closely at your picture.

What have you drawn? What do you need to do now is add words or phrases to tell us exactly what you have drawn.

So for example, if I had drawn my forest and I had drawn my logs as I described them, and I would need to find the logs from the picture and write the word.

L O G S Logs.

I would find the logs on the picture and write the word.

Have you drawn the beds or the chairs? Have you drawn a window? Have you drawn leaves? Have you drawn the sun? Look very carefully at your picture and write as many labels as you can.

Pause the video now to complete your task.

I would love to see your label drawings of the settings in Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
