Hello, everyone.

And welcome back to another lesson with me, Miss Sidenius.

Today we're going to be learning all about our appearance and what makes us unique and different to other people.

In today's lesson, we're going to start by describing the different features of our appearance.

Then we're going to draw a self portrait.

And finally, we're going to share our self portrait with somebody in our household, a teddy or toy.

In this lesson, you're going to need three things.

Some paper, some pencils, and a mirror.

Now this can either be one that you go and look at on the wall or if you have a little one that you can carry with you, you can get one of those as well.

Pause the video here, make sure you've got those three things and come back when you are ready.

♪ Star Words , ♪ ♪ Star Words, ♪ ♪ Star Words ♪ My turn, ♪ Appearance ♪ Your turn, ♪ Appearance ♪ Your appearance is the way that you, look.

There are lots of different features of your appearance that make you unique.

Which means they make you different to everybody else.

And that's really special.

Can you think of some features of your appearance? Have a look at the pictures on the screen to help you.

Tell your screen.

That's right.

Your eye colour is a feature of your parents.

Your hair colour is, your skin colour.

If you've got straight hair or curly hair, that's another feature of your appearance.

And even things like the shape of your face and, the shape of your eyebrows are features of your appearance.

Well done, everyone.

So, I've had a look in the mirror and I can see that I have blue eyes, I've got fair skin.

And I've got a very round face.

Have a look in the mirror and see what you notice about your appearance.

I have.

Tell your screen.

Wow, we all have such different appearances.

And that's really special.

I love to hear that some people have brown eyes.

Some people have black hair.

Some people have really long hair.

Some people have curly hair.

It's so special that we are all different in our own way.

This is where you're going to need your pen and your paper.

You've got your mirror next to you to help you and you've already had a look so you know what you need to draw.

We're going to have a go at drawing ourselves.

we're going to draw something called a self portrait.

So you can see here that I'm drawing my face shape to start off.

I've got quiet around face, but you can see I have made my face go in a little bit at the bottom for my chin.

Pause the video here and draw your face shape and come back when you're ready.

Well done everyone.

Now let's move on to doing our eyes.

When you draw your eyes, you need to think really carefully.

Where do they sit on your face, have a look in the mirror to help you.

That's right.

They sit near the top of your face.

Not right to the top, or right to the bottom.

They sit in the middle at the top of your face.

So draw your two eyes.

Doesn't matter if they're not exactly the same, mine are not either.

And, make sure that you draw the circle inside your eye because that's where you can colour in your eye colour.

and show that you are really different and unique to everybody else.

So I've drawn a little black circle in the middle, and then I'm going to draw a circle around it that I can colour in later.

And think about the detail.

What else have you got on your eyes, eyelashes.

That's right.

So I'm drawing my eyelashes as well.

So I really want this picture to look like me.

So drawing my eyelashes.

And I think I'm done with my eyes.

So pause the video here, draw your eyes and come back when you're ready.

Great.

So we've got our eyes, and we've got our face shape.

Hmm.

But we mustn't forget what sits above our eyes.

That's right, our eyebrows.

And our eyebrows are actually lots of tiny little hairs.

So I'm drawing lots and lots of little lines for my eyebrows.

And then my eyebrow follows my eye around.

So I'm going to do them going all the way down around my eye Okay, so I've done one I'm going to do the other one.

Even eyebrows can be really different on different people.

Some people have really bushy eyebrows.

Some people have really thin eyebrows.

These are other things that can make us different and unique as well.

Great.

I've done my eyebrows.

It's your turn to do yours now.

Pause the video here, draw your eyebrows and come back when you're finished.

Okay, okay, so we've got our eyes.

We've got our eyebrows.

What's next? That's right, our noses.

Now where does your nose sit on your face? In the middle.

That's right.

I find it a bit tricky to draw noses.

So I just did a quick one like that.

Pause the video here, have a go at drawing your nose and come back when you're finished.

Okay, so we've got eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth.

We need to draw our mouth now.

Hmm, I've got quite a small mouth, but I do like to smile a lot.

So I'm going to draw me with a big smile.

And I've got small teeth.

So I'm going to draw small teeth inside my mouth.

You don't have to draw your mouth smiling you might draw your mouth, open, like this.

Or, really excited looking, or maybe a sad mouth.

It's up to you and how you're feeling today.

And one more thing am drawing, I've got something called a dimple.

So I've drawn that there, next to my smile.

Pause the video here, draw your mouth and come back when you're finished.

Okay.

There's just one more thing I can think of that's really important.

Hair, that's right.

Now I've got my hair up today so you can't really see.

But my hair is actually quite short.

Comes to about here and it's quite straight.

So am going to draw some straight lines of hair coming down But you might have long hair or you might have curly hair, so you might like to do your hair in swirls, like, beautiful curls.

So my hair is going round my face like that.

All the way down the sides and I need to draw my neck as well.

So I've got my neck and my hair.

Just going to draw the rest of my hair behind my neck as well.

And you could see it doesn't look exactly like me, but that's okay.

I had a really good go and I had lots of fun trying to do myself portrayed.

Pause the video here, do your hair and your neck and come back when you're finished.

Okay, I think we finished our amazing self portraits.

I don't have time to colour mine in today, but I'm going to do it later but if you would like to, you should colour yours in as well.

You should think about your eye colour and your hair colour and your skin colour.

And try and add those details to your self portrait too.

Now having a look in the mirror and yourself portrait to help you.

What is your favourite feature on your face? Have a little think.

My favourite feature on my face, is my dimple.

Because, I've only got one on one side and you can't always see it.

If I got my mouth closed , it's not there.

But if am talking or am smiling ,then you can see it.

Have a think and tell me what your favourite feature is.

Ooh, so lovely to hear to hear that we all have different features that are our favourite thing about ourselves.

Make sure that you go and tell somebody in your household, your teddy or your toy, what your favourite feature is about yourself.

I think they would like to know as well and, show them your beautiful self portrait that you worked, so hard on.

Well done everyone.

See you next time.

Bye.
