Hello, I'm Adam and this is Panda.

We are now on lesson 10 from unit three, using the story, "The Little Red Hen." Let's see, what's on the agenda today.

So for our warmup today, we're going to sing the story of "The Very Little Bear." And after that, we're going to work towards you telling this story independently.

And for that, you might well need your Talk Teddy later on in the session.

Okay, let's move on to the warmup.

So how ever you want to join in, whether it's singing out loud or singing in your head, join in, in your own way.

Let's do the story of "The Very Little Bear." ♪ Once there was a very little bear ♪ ♪ A very little bear, a very little bear ♪ ♪ Once there was, a very little bear ♪ ♪ Who wanted to make a pool ♪ ♪ "Who will help me make a pool?" ♪ ♪ Said the very little bear, the very little bear ♪ ♪ "Who will help me dig a hole, so we can make a pool?" ♪ ♪ "Sorry," said the lion ♪ ♪ "I can't," said the zebra ♪ ♪ "I'd love to," said giraffe.

♪ Coz they said sorry.

And it was fun.

So, before it's your turn to tell the story.

Panda suggested that I should tell the story one more time and you could listen to the story and follow it and join in if you wanted to.

And that, that would really help.

Should I do that? I've got my magic piano with me.

My magic thumb, piano.

I like the sound that this makes, here we go.

It's story time.

It's story time.

Look, listen.

Learn.

Once upon a time, there was a very little bear who lived in a cave.

One morning, She came out and she gave her friends a wave "Morning friends," She said, "it's a very hot day." "Let's build a swimming pool.

Who would help me dig a hole?" "Sorry," said the lion, "I'm busy looking after my little brother." "Sorry," said the zebra.

"I can't come now.

I'm practising my galloping." "Sorry," said giraffe.

"I'm helping my little sister learn how to eat juicy leaves" "No one cares," thought the very little bear "I'd have to dig the hole myself." And so she got a spade and she dug a hole and it was hard work.

When the hole was ready, she thought "it needs stones in," "who will help me put stones in the pool?" said the very little bear.

"Sorry," said the lion.

"Sorry," said giraffe.

"I can't come now" said zebra.

"No one cares," thought the very little bear.

I'll put the stones down myself." And it was hard work.

When the pool was ready for water, the little bear said, "who will help put water in the pool?" "Sorry," said the lion.

"I can't come now.

I'm helping my dad." "Sorry," said zebra, "I'm teaching my little sister how to jump over hedges?" "Sorry," said giraffe, "I've hurt my knee." "No one cares." Thought the very little bear.

"I put all the water in myself." And so she got a bucket didn't you? And she put the water into the pool.

"I think this pool will be good with a slide," thought the very little bear, "who will help me build a slide?" Said the very little bear.

"Sorry," said the lion.

"Sorry," said the zebra.

"I'd love to" said giraffe, "but I'm busy." "No one cares," thought the very little bear.

"I'll build the slide myself." And so she did, and it was hard work.

But soon the pool was ready, for splishing and splashing about "Who will come and swim in my pool?" said the very little bear.

"I will," said the lion.

"I will," said the zebra.

"I will," said giraffe "But you didn't help me make it." said the very little bear.

"So I'll swimming it myself." And she did for a while, but it wasn't fun.

She wanted to play with everyone.

And when her friends came to say, sorry, the little bear was happy.

And she invited them in for a swim and it was fun.

And that was the end of the story.

Have you noticed every time I tell that story, it always is different.

In some small way, stories can always be told with difference, with changes in the way that you want to tell it.

Now it may be that you choose to tell this story by singing it.

You might choose to show it by acting it out or by using your story map, but how ever you tell it, find someone to tell the story to.

It could even be your talk Teddy.

So I'm going to pause the video and it's your turn to do the work.

Okay.

Good luck.

So how was that? I wonder how you told the story.

How did you feel being the storyteller? Panda, Panda likes it when she's listened to.

She likes it, when she tells me whispers me stories, she likes to be heard.

Every story likes to be heard.

Well, however you told the story, we at the Oak Academy love to see your work.

So please speak to your carers, your teachers, and they will know what to do to show your work with us.

We've learnt a lot.

Telling stories is a wonderful thing, and we're really excited, Panda and I, because in the next unit, we're going to be starting with a new story, "The Three Billy Goats Gruff." And we, we hope you can join us in those sessions too.

But until then, keep on telling stories, and we look forward to seeing you sometime soon.

Bye bye.
