Hello, I'm Adam.

And this is Panda.

This is Lesson 8 of Unit 1.

And here's the agenda.

While in the last lesson, we had a go at recycling, changing a nursery rhyme and making a new one.

So, the warmup today will be to sing a new nursery rhyme.

And then we're going to have a go at telling a story that's never been told before.

The recycled story of the noisy house, which we also wrote in the last lesson.

So, that's all going to be new.

And for this we will need, later in the session, some paper and a pencil.

While in the last lesson we recycled a nursery rhyme.

We recycled "Jack and Jill" and Panda had the idea that instead of Jack and Jill we could have a frog and a dog.

Frog, Dog.

We like that because the words rhymed.

And Frog and Dog climbed the hill and they got some ice cream.

Lots of ice cream.

And Frog fell down and dropped the lot and Dog came tumbling after.

So, shall we sing our recycled nursery rhyme? The one we made up together after we've sung the original one.

The old one, the "Jack and Jill." Let's do it together.

Here we go.

Are you ready? Are you steady? Let's go.

♪ Jack and Jill went up the hill ♪ ♪ To fetch a pail of water ♪ ♪ Jack fell down and broke his crown ♪ ♪ And Jill came tumbling after ♪ ♪ Frog and Dog climbed up the hill ♪ ♪ To buy a lot of ice cream ♪ ♪ Frog fell down and dropped the lot ♪ ♪ And dog came tumbling after ♪ That was fun, nursery rhyme done.

So, in the last lesson we reminded ourselves of the story of the noisy house.

Mr. Adam, when he had a creaky door and a tap that dripped and the window whooshed.

We had a look at the map and we changed everything to create a new story.

Shall we have a look at that map to remind ourselves of that new recycled story? So, the story started here with Panda.

And Panda had a problem.

She had a leaky boat so she decided to go and see her neighbour.

So, she went up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down until she got to her neighbour who was a crab.

And the crab lived on an island.

"And what's your problem?" Said the crab.

And Panda says, "I've got a leaky boat." And the crab says, "Hmm, you better go to the farm and get a cow." So, Panda got a cow.

The cow went in the boat and the cow went splish, splash, sploshing all the water.

After that, the cow said get a lamb.

After that, a donkey.

And then finally, when Panda went to see the crab, the crab said, "Hmm, you don't need a donkey, You don't need a lamb, you don't need a cow.

Take them back to the farm.

What you need is a bucket.

So, Panda used the bucket.

I forgot to draw the sail there.

And sailed away for a year and a day.

And Panda was happy.

I think Panda may have learned a lesson in that story, don't you? Okay, I'm going to show you a way of telling that story where we can all join in together.

Panda and I are excited.

We've never told this story before so there might be some mistakes, but we don't mind because we know we're going to learn something by doing it.

So, here it goes.

If you can and you want to, try and join in.

If you think you know what I'm going to do.

Let's see what happens.

Here we go.

Once upon a time, there was a panda who had a rowing boat.

One day, she got in the boat, but the boat could hardly float.

"Oh, no," says Panda.

"I've got a leaky boat." She went up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

And up the wave and down.

And when she got to the island, she saw her friend, the crab.

"Crab, I've got a problem! I've got a leaky boat." "Hmm," said Crab.

"Get yourself a cow." "Get myself a cow?" Up the wave and down the wave.

And up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

And up the wave and down.

When she got home, Panda got a cow.

The cow got in the boat.

The boat could hardly float.

Splish, splash, splosh, went the cow in the boat.

They went up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

And up the wave and down.

And when they got to the island, she saw her friend, the crab.

"Crab, I've got a problem.

I've got a leaky boat." "Ah," said Crab.

"You need to get a lamb." "I need to get a lamb?" said Panda.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

And up the wave and down.

And when she got home, Panda got a little lamb.

The lamb got in the boat.

The boat could hardly float.

"Oh, no," says Panda.

"I've got a leaky boat." She went up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

And up the wave and down.

And when they got to the island, she saw her friend, the crab.

"Crab, I've got a problem.

I've got a leaky boat." "Ah," said Crab.

"You need to get a donkey." "I need to get a donkey?" Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

And up the wave and down.

And when she got home, Panda got a donkey.

The donkey got in the boat, the boat could hardly float.

"Oh, no," says Panda.

"I've got a leaky boat." They went up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

And up the wave and down.

And when they got to the island, she saw her friend, the crab.

"Crab, I've got a problem! I've got a leaky boat." "Ah," says Crab, "You don't need a cow and a lamb and a donkey, you just need a bucket to get out the water.

"Oh," said Panda.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

Up the wave and down the wave.

And up the wave and down.

And when she got home, Panda took all the animals back to the farm.

Then, she got herself a bucket.

And she got all the water out of the boat and she sailed away for a year and a day.

What was your favourite moment of that story? We've done this before, do you remember? As of all the things you've heard, what was your favourite moment, Panda? She wants to keep it a secret.

She wants to draw it.

My favourite moment, I want to keep mine a secret too.

I'm going to draw it.

I'm going to pause the film and now it's time for you to get a piece of paper and a pencil and draw your favourite moment.

What happened in that story? Maybe it was the bit when the cow got in the boat.

That's a funny thing, isn't it? Or maybe it's the bit when the lamb got in the boat 'cause lambs are cute.

You decide.

So, how was that? I wonder what your favourite moment of the story was.

Remember, if you ask your carers, you can share your work with the Oak Academy and we'll get to see it.

And we would really love to too.

This is our favourite moment.

This is the moment that Panda chose to draw.

Ah, it wasn't a splish, splash, splosh moment at all.

It was the moment when Panda sailed away for a year and a day.

And she was happy.

So, we drew our favourite moment.

We now have joined in with that story.

And so, in the next lesson together, we will step that story and we'll mime that story.

And we'll practise so by Lesson 10, you will be ready to tell all of that story by yourself.

So, keep listening out for new words and trying new words.

And we really look forward to seeing you in the next lesson.

Goodbye.
