Hello, I'm Adam and this is Panda.

We are on lesson seven of unit five using the story mouse deer, let's see what's on the agenda today.

So for our warm-up today, Panda and I are going to give you some word clues as to the characters and animals that are in our new recycled story, that's because we need to think today about describing characters.

And then we're going to invite you to join in with the first retelling of our recycled story, and part of that will be singing the little song that the children sing in the story.

So quite a lot to do, oh, and for this session you will need a piece of paper and a pencil, but that's later on.

Okay, let's move on to the warm up.

So for our warm up today, a word game, Panda and I are going to use words and your job is to guess who we are talking about.

Okay, these first characters are quick and clever and very fast runners, do you know who they are? The girl and the boy in the story, these take the place of the quick and clever mouse deer.

♪ We're very little kids ♪ ♪ And we're having lots of fun ♪ ♪ We're quick and we're clever ♪ ♪ And we're fast when we run ♪ ♪ We're two very clever kids having lots of fun ♪ ♪ We're fast and we're clever ♪ ♪ And we're fast when we run ♪ So they sing a little song in the story.

Okay, this next creature is a type of dinosaur chews leaves, long neck, do you know what it is? Diplodocus very good.

Next one is not a dinosaur because it has wings and a beak.

The pterosaur, the pterosaur in the new story.

Very good, so we've got a Diplodocus and a pterosaur, you might be able to work out what the next one is.

Spiky long tail, big jaws, stegosaurus.

Good, which leaves the great hunter, the biggest, most terrifying, most ferocious, the one that goes stumps stomp through the jungle, it is the T Rex with its sharp claws but little hands.

But in a moment, I'm going to have a go at telling this story for the first time and invite you to be joining in, before I do, let's have a quick look at the story map because this is a new story, and the story of course starts over here.

So the tiger is now a dinosaur, a T Rex, and he stumps and he stomps.

So in the story, when I go stump, stomp, stomp stump, perhaps you can join in with those bits, the kids, the two children they sing a little song.

♪ We're two very little kids having lots of fun ♪ ♪ We're quick and we're clever ♪ ♪ And we're fast when we run ♪ Perhaps you could join him with those bits of the telling too.

Now, the first time we meet, excuse my picture here there was no way of avoiding it, there's a puddle and we know this animal here, don't we? It's more than a puddle it's a great big muddy bath, and this now is the Diplodicus bath and the children trick the T Rex into getting in.

So we have to work on the words of how to do that to make it sound like something you'd want to do, the next one, the pterosaur, the children persuade the T Rex to go lie in a tree, of course the branches snap and he falls.

And finally they meet a stegosaurus and they tell the T-Rex that this is a stegosaurus drum, and if he beats it hard, it will boom and vibrate.

But of course it's got ants in it and he can't bear the ants, "Get off." And finally the children escape, just like mouse deer did singing that song.

♪ We're two very clever kids having lots of fun ♪ ♪ We're quick and we're clever ♪ ♪ And we fast run when we run.

♪ Anyway, that's the story map now that we created in the last lesson, so are you ready to join in with the story? It's story time, it's story time, look, listen, learn.

Once in a forest, a great giant beast was hungry for food and needed to feast.

He stamped and he stomped and he stomped and he stamped, then he heard a strange song and thought something is wrong.

♪ We're two very clever kids having lots of fun ♪ ♪ We're quick and we're clever ♪ ♪ And we're fast when we run ♪ The T Rex looked through the trees and he saw the two children, and he stamped and he stomped and he roared "I'm going to eat you for my breakfast." "Sorry Mr. T Rex," said the children, "but look at this." And they pointed on the ground where there was a great big pool of mud.

"This," said the children, "is a Diplodocus' bath.

The water is so warm and the bath is so deep, you will feel so relaxed it will sooth you to sleep." "Ooh," said the T-Rex, "could I try it?" "You could," said the children, "but we would have to ride away on the back of Diplodocus." And while the children rode away on Diplodocus, the great big T Rex got into the Diplodocus bath, but the water was cold, and all it was was mud.

Said the T Rex, and he was angry then.

"Whoo," said the T Rex, "could I try relaxing in the pterosaur nest?" "Yes," said the children, "but we would have to fly away on the back of this pterosaur." While the children flew away, T-Rex tried to climb the tree, but when he got into the pterosaur nest, the branches cracked and he fell to the floor with a smack T Rex was angry then.

And while the children rode away on the back of a stegosaurus, the T Rex jumped on what he thought was a drum that would make him dance, but when he landed with a stomp, the ants went running up his legs, all over him, "No, no." So the great big T Rex, the children were gone.

♪ We're two very clever kids having lots of fun ♪ ♪ We're quick and we're clever ♪ ♪ And we're fast when we run ♪ So how was that? That was the first time I've ever told that story, Panda and I were wondering what your favourite moments of the story were.

Panda's favourite moment is when the T Rex tries to get in what he thinks is a warm soothing bath belonging to Diplodocus, and it's cold and muddy and sludgy, my favourite bit is when he falls out of the pterosaur nest.

Remember stories have to have memorable moments, so what was your favourite bit of the story? Choose your favourite moment, and now's the time for you to work because we'd like you to draw your favourite moment of that story.

Okay, time to work.

We wonder what your favourite moments were.

Remember, you can send your work to us here at the Oak Academy, your carers and teachers will know how.

Before we go, we thought we needed to sing something or do something musical, because we haven't done that today.

Here's a song about dinosaurs, and we imagine that we're singing them just like those two clever children who are confident and they know they can beat dinosaurs.

So the chorus goes like this.

♪ We're not afraid of dinosaurs ♪ Do that with me.

♪ We're not afraid of dinosaurs ♪ Good.

♪ Giant beasts with mighty roars ♪ Together? ♪ Giant beasts with mighty roars ♪ ♪ Stomping through the jungle on all fours ♪ Together.

Right, what have we done today? Lots, we started out with a word game where I described the characters and you had to guess who they were.

We looked at the new story map, and then I told the story and you joined in with the stump and the stomp and the singing that the children did in the story.

After that you drew your favourite moment of the story, and now you've joined in with a song as well, so that's a lot of work.

Well, well done, Panda and I we're looking forward to seeing you in the next session, where we are going to step through that story and we're going to develop the language even more.

So we look forward to seeing you soon, take care, bye bye.
