Hello, everybody, my name is Miss Too and today we are going to be looking at our English lesson together.

But before we do, I want to tell us a bit about me.

I love animals.

I love animals that live in the wild, I love animals that live in the sea, and I love animals that live in the house.

Do you have any animals that live in your house? I have an animal.

I have one dog and he is called Zukor.

I'm going to introduce you to another one of my friends today, and this is Peter the penguin.

Peter the penguin loves to find out information.

And he's a good listener, aren't you, Peter? If you'd like to bring one of your teddies along today for our English session, that's okay.

Go grab them and bring them along.

Fantastic! Today we're going to find out information all about an animal, but I'll tell you a little bit more about that in a bit.

Okay, before we do, I want us to learn a song.

And our song is going to be a warm up song, that's going to get us in the mood for telling our information in a bit.

So the first thing we're going to do is I'm going to give you some actions.

We're going to have a go, doing the actions together and then I'll tell you the words.

So are we ready? I'm sitting comfortably.

The first actions go.

Okay, do you think you can do that? Let's have a go join in together.

Ready, one, two, three.

Amazing, well done! Give yourselves a marshmallow clap, which is like this.

We got marshmallow in the middle.

Fantastic! Right now, we'll do it and I will say the words as we're doing the actions, if you want to you can join in.

Are we ready? One, two, three.

♪ I'll buy a tea pot big enough for two ♪ ♪ Big enough for two my darling, big enough for two ♪ ♪ I'll buy a tea pot big enough for two ♪ ♪ Under the shade of, under the bamboo tree.

♪ Simple as that, right let's have a go at doing it all together putting the words and the actions together.

I know it's a bit tricky but I'm sure you will be amazing.

♪ Amazing, well done! Right let's start with that information for today, and it's really important that we look at information and we learn lots of facts that we know all about the world that we live in.

Today we are going to be looking at our spellings.

So we're going to be exploring the suffix "est" Then we're going to be listening to the information that I've got for you about our secret animal.

And then, we're going to be reflecting on the information and seeing which bit was our favourite.

So today, you are going to need an exercise book or piece of paper.

You will need a pencil and you're super super brains which I know you will already got switched on after our tea pot song.

So pause the video now to go and get your resources and when you've got them all in front of you, you can start.

So as I said, the spelling we're going to be looking at today, is using the suffix.

Do you know what a suffix is? That's okay if you don't.

The suffix goes at the end of a word, to create a new meaning.

And We're going to be looking at the suffix "est" to create boastful adjectives.

So, I have got these adjectives on our screen.

We've got great, tall, new and old.

Can you point to the word, tall? That's right.

It's this one.

Can you point to the word new? Think about it begins with that "n", new.

Well done! It's here.

Can you find the word great? Great, fantastic! And the last one is old.

Well done, the one at the bottom here.

Super! And you can see that all these adjectives, I have put that they need to add the suffix "est".

And it makes them become amazing.

It becomes the best they can be.

So we add "est" and they all become boastful.

So for example, I have great and I add "est" and it becomes greatest.

They were the greatest hunters in the whole wide world.

Greatest.

Next one, we've got tall and we add the suffix "est".

Say it to the screen.

What's our new word going to be? Tallest.

He was the tallest in his class.

Well done! Tallest.

Now, let's have a look at this one, new.

We add the suffix "est".

What's our new word going to be? The newest.

Amazing, well done! And the last one is old.

We are adding the suffix "est".

What's our new word going to be? Oldest, she was the oldest of her family.

Oldest, well done! So these are going to be our four words that we're going to focus on this week.

We've got greatest, tallest, newest and oldest.

And this is why you need your pen and paper.

We're going to have a go writing down, our four words for today.

So I'd like you to write down the word greatest, and have a look at the word.

Make sure you are spelling it correctly, and your letters are sitting on our line.

Then I would like to have go writing the word tallest.

And again making sure you're looking at the screen and you can pause it if you need to, to make sure you're really focusing on the letters that we need.

'Cause we've got tall "est" and it puts it together and we've got tallest.

Then we've got newest.

So again, look at the letters, make sure you've got new "est" and you're making the word newest.

And our final one is oldest.

So you need to make sure again by looking at the letter that you need, and you're spelling it correctly, because all week, we're going to work with these four words.

You're going to need them in your sentences.

So we've got old "est", oldest.

Right, so you can pause the screen now, have a go at writing them down.

If you'd like to, you can move away so you can't see the screen.

And if you're not too sure I'm going to leave them on the screen for you, so you can keep checking back to make sure you spell them correctly.

When you've had a go writing them, you can press play and carry on.

♪ It's learning time, it's learning time ♪ ♪ Look, listen, wow! ♪ Can you join in with our learning time song? Are you ready? ♪ It's learning time, it's learning time ♪ ♪ Look, listen, wow! ♪ Well done! Hi, everyone.

I am Dr Catushkid.

I know all about cats.

I know about big ones, small ones and even medium sized ones.

But today, I'm going to tell you all about the biggest there is.

Do you know what that could be? Let me tell you.

It's not the puma.

It's not the lion.

That's right, It's the tiger.

Show me your best tiger impression.

Amazing! I'm going to be explaining to you what a tiger looks like, what a tiger can do and how we can help the tigers.

So firstly, what does a tiger look like? A male tiger can be as large as three metres long.

Wow! That is about two times size of me and four times the size of you! That is really long.

What colour is a tiger? A tiger is usually orange or we can also get white and gold tigers.

We usually find the white tiger in the zoo.

Tigers also have stripes so that they can hide in a long grass when hunting their prey.

Some tigers have up to 100 stripes on their bodies.

Wow! Secondly, what the tigers do? Tigers are hunters.

So they sleep in the day and at night they go out to hunt their prey, because that's the best time that they can hide.

Their sharp claws and their long teeth help them to catch their prey and eat it.

And their strong legs means they can run really fast.

They can run up to 60 kilometres per hour.

That is very fast.

Also, some tigers can swim.

Cats don't usually like water but tigers love it, especially when it's a hot day and they need to cool down.

Some tigers have been known to swim up to six kilometres along the lakes and the rivers.

That is Very far! Finally, how can we help the tigers? Well, today, there are only 4000 tigers left in the whole world.

And that's really sad.

This is because some people hunt tigers for their skin.

If we don't do something about it, there's going to be no tigers left in the whole world.

And that would be really upsetting.

I love tigers, and it's a wonderful thing to see them out in the nature.

I wonder, what could we do? Some countries have created special places called nature reserves, which keep the tiger safe from hunters.

And this is a really lovely thing to do.

So if you want to help tigers, there's two things that you can do.

First thing, is don't buy any tiger skin products, because this just encourages people to go out and hunt for the tigers.

And the second thing you can do, is you can help charities like the World Wildlife Fund, who help to fund the nature reserves that keep the tiger safe.

That's it.

That's my tiger talk for today.

And I hope that you will make friends with the tigers and love them just as much as me.

Wow, I love that information all about tigers.

What was your favourite fact about the tiger? My favourite fact was that tigers sleep in the day and they hunt at night.

Peter, what was your favourite fact about tigers? I enjoyed that fact too Peter.

Can you tell me what your favourite fact was? Say it in a full sentence.

My favourite fact was-- Amazing! So we're coming to the end of today's lesson.

So I wouldn't know what was your favourite part of today's lesson? Mine was learning all about the interesting facts about the tigers.

So I would say, my favourite part of today's lesson was learning all about tigers.

Tell your teddy, what yours was.

Super work, well done! Today's lesson it's going to be really exciting because we are going to be telling our information from memory.

So we've got to be getting our drawing fingers ready.

Our voices ready and our bodies moving to do lots of fantastic actions.

See if you can have a go at writing your own "what I'm I" for the start of this lesson based on what you know now about tigers.

I look forward to seeing you.

And I can't wait to hear your new "what I'm I's".

See you later!.
