And you were able to join in at home as well.

I wonder if you can guess which of those animals from our song are going to be in our story today? Let's have a look.

Today we're going to become storytellers.

Our story is called The Sweet-Talking Potato.

What do you think could happen in our story today? Have you ever met.

A potato that could talk? No, me neither.

I love to eat potatoes, but I have never ever met one that could talk.

Let's get ready for story time.

We're going to start with our storytelling chants.

Are you ready? ♪ It's story time ♪ ♪ Story time ♪ ♪ Look, listen ♪ ♪ Wow ♪ Once upon a time, there was a farmer.

One day he was very, very hungry.

So he went out into his field and he picked a potato.

To his amazement the potato spoke to him, hands off! The potato yelled.

The farmer looked at his dog.

Did you say that? the farmer asked No, it wasn't me said the dog.

It was the potato.

screamed the farmer.

And he run away as fast as his legs could carry him.

He ran and he ran and he run until he reached the market.

There he met a man, who was selling chickens.

The man asked the farmer.

Why are you running so fast, when the day is so hot? The farmer said to the man.

First, a potato spoke to me.

Then my dog spoke to me.

That's impossible, said the man.

Oh no, it's not.

Said the chicken.

screamed the farmer and he run away as fast as his legs could carry him.

He ran and he ran and he ran and he run until he came to a shop where he met a Baker who was making loaves of bread.

The Baker stopped the farmer and asked him, why are you running so fast, when the day is so hot? The farmer said to the Baker, first my potato spoke to me.

Then my dog spoke to me.

And after that a chicken spoke to me.

That's impossible, said the Baker.

Oh no, it's not.

Said one of the loaves of bread.

Screamed the farmer.

And he run away as fast as his legs would carry him.

He run and he ran and he ran until he came to the town.

Where he met the king sitting on his throne.

The king asked the farmer, Why are you running so fast, when the day's so hot? The farmer said to the king, first my potatoes spoke to me.

Then my dog spoke to me.

Then a chicken spoke to me and now a loaf of bread has spoken to me.

Get out, you foolish man, said to the king.

The farmer left feeling very, very foolish.

The king said to himself how silly to imagine that those things could talk.

There was a long silence.

And then the throne spoke to the king.

Whoever heard of a talking potato.

What did you think of today's story? Talking potatoes, talking animals and talking thrones.

I couldn't believe it.

Let's get our talk partner, bears out.

And see what they've got to say as well.

Ted, what did you think of our story today? Oh! Teddy was a little bit confused because he's not sure what a throne is.

A throne is a special, special chair that the king or queen can sit on when they have a very special event.

Does that help you Teddy? He's feeling much better.

Now he knows what to throne is.

Do you know what? That was actually one of my favourite bits of the story.

When the throne said to the king who ever heard of a talking potato? Because the king had called the man foolish because the farmer had told him that those animals and those objects, were talking to the farmer and the king didn't believe him.

But then the throne talked to the king as well.

So that really made me chuckle.

Teddy, what was your favourite part of the story? Oh Teddy, Teddy says that his favourite part of the story was when the sweet potato yelled, hands off because it just surprised him so much that the potato was talking.

Me and Teddy would love to know what your favourite parts of the story were.

So grab your talk partner Ted, press the pause button on the screen and tell your talk partner.

What was your favourite parts of the story.

I'd really like to hear you using the sentence, my favourite parts was when.

When you've told your talk partner Ted, press the play button, we'll be waiting for you.

Wow, you all had so many different favourite parts of the story.

Some of you loved it when the potato was talking, some of you loved it when the animals were talking and some of you loved it when the farmer was running away as fast as he could.

I really hope that you've enjoyed today's lesson as much as I have.

Can you remember what happened in our story today? It was called The Sweet-Talking Potato.

First of all the farmer pulled up a potato.

Who talked to him? Can you remember who talked to the farmer next? It was the dog.

Then farmer ran away from the dog and the potato.

He met the chicken.

He spoke to him and a loaf of? Bread, then the farmer met the king.

And how did the king make the farmer feel? He made him feel a bit sad I think because he called the farmer foolish.

But was the farmer foolish? Maybe you can have a think about that for next time.

I wonder if between now and our next lesson, you can have a go at telling our story.

Of The Sweet-Talking Potato to someone in your family or someone at home.

I hope that you've enjoyed our lesson today.

I will see you next time for lesson two, bye.
