Should we do that one more time? One, two ,three ,four, five Once I caught a fish alive.

Six, seven, eight, nine, ten then I put it back again.

Why did you let it go? Because it bite my finger so.

Which finger did it bite? This little finger on my right.

Where do you think that nursery rhyme is set? Do you know what I mean when I say where is it set? Do you know what I mean? Well what I mean is, where did it take place? Where did it happen? What is the setting? When we talk about the setting were talking about where something happened.

Do you understand now? Okay.

Where do we think that nursery rhyme was set? Someone talking about catching a fish.

Hmm.

Perhaps on the edge of a river.

Would it have been in the city or the countryside? Could have been either, there are rivers in cities and countrysides.

What country could it have been in? What countries are there rivers in? Are there rivers in all countries? Hmm.

I think there might be.

Maybe you can check that after this lesson.

The story we're going to listen to today and were going to do some work on over our next few lessons is Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Once upon a time, in the middle of a deep green forest there was a cottage.

And in the cottage lived Three bears.

A daddy bear, a mommy bear, and a baby bear.

And they loved each other very much.

Inside the cottage, their were three bowls.

The baby bear had tiny bowl, The mama bear had a medium sized bowl and the Daddy bear had a big bowl.

Inside the cottage, there were three chairs.

The baby bear had a tiny chair.

The Mama had a medium sized bear and the Daddy bear had a big chair.

Inside the cottage, there were three beds, the baby bad a tiny bed.

The mama bear had a medium sized bed and the Daddy bear had a really big bed.

One morning mama bear, cooked some porridge and poured it into their bowls, but it was too hot to eat.

Oh oh oh So they went for a walk while it cooled.

As they walked through the cottage, they sang a song with three bears, three bears living in a cottage in the , three beds, three bears living here together feel so good.

While they were out walking, a selfish little girl with golden hair was out walking in the forest as well.

And so Singing a song.

Goldilocks Goldilocks What can I steal today? Maybe some food, maybe some money, maybe a game to play.

she smelled the porridge and thought, hmm, I'm hungry.

Maybe that's my breakfast she followed the smell to the cottage, peeked in through the window, lifted the latch and stepped into the cottage.

Goldilocks went over to the kitchen table where the porridge was cooling.

First, she tried the porridge in the big bowl, but it was too hot.

Too hot, too hot.

She shouted and pouted.

Next, she tried the porridge in the middle, but it was too cold, too cold, too cold.

She pouted.

Next, she tried the part in the tiny bowl and it was just Right, finally.

Ha.

Just right.

She smiled and gobbled it all up.

After that she, thought she would sit down.

First she sat in the big chair, but it was too hard.

too hard.

She shouted, and pouted.

Next she sat down on the middle chair, but it was too soft.

too soft.

She shouted and pouted.

Finally she sat in the tiny chair.

Ah, just right.

But the girl was too heavy, and the chair fell to pieces.

Goldilocks fell on the floor.

Oh, bother.

She shouted.

And pouted.

That's no good.

Goldilocks went upstairs to the bedroom.

First, she tried the big bed, but it was too high at the head.

Next, she tried the middle there.

But it was too low at the head.

Too low she shouted, and pouted.

Finally, she tried the tiny bed.

Ah, just right and she fell asleep.

A while later, the Three Bears came back from their walk, still singing their song with three bears, three bears living in a cottage in the wood, three beds, three beds living here together feel so good.

They lifted the latch and went over to their bowls.

Someone's been eating my porridge roared the Daddy bear.

Someone's been eating my porridge too shouted the mummy bear.

Someone's been eating my porridge too squeak to the baby bear.

And they've eaten it all up, and baby bear began to cry.

Next, they went over to their chairs.

Someone's been sitting in my chair roared the Daddy bear.

Someone's been sitting in my chair, shouted the mummy bear.

Someone's been sitting in my chair.

squeaked the baby bear.

And it's broken.

Baby Bear started to cry again.

Finally they went to the bedroom.

Someone's been sleeping in my bed, ruled the Daddy bear.

Someone's been sleeping in my bed, shouted the mummy bear.

Someone's been sleeping in my bed, squeaked the baby bear.

And she's still here, the Three Bears rolled roared, and Goldilocks jumped up out of bed jumped out of the window, and the Three Bears never saw her again.

Have you heard that story before? It's a very famous story.

And there are lots of different versions because it's so old that so many different people have told it in so many different ways.

And that's okay, when we tell stories.

We've changed them ever so slightly every time we tell them.

So when you tell that story, it might sound just slightly different to how I've told it.

And maybe the next time I tell it, it will sound slightly different.

To the way I've told it.

In this lesson, we're going to play a game.

And this is a game all about different settings.

So I am going to be miming Hmm, can we remember what miming means? means I'm going to be using my face and my body to act but not using anywhere else.

I'm going to be miming and pretending that I'm in some different places.

And you have to guess where I am.

Are you ready? When where was I? Well, I started off and I was trying to put things into my basket.

And then I was paying and then I had my bags and I was walking home so I must have been at the shops.

Fantastic.

Okay, Where am I now? Hmm, I was cheering I was watching something and I was looking back and forth and back and forth.

I was at a tennis match watching the tennis ball going back and forth between the two players.

Let's try one more, shall we? Let me have a think.

Where was I? Well, I started off reading something, then I was talking to someone and showing them something.

Then I was brought some food I started eating, said how good it was.

I was at a restaurant.

In that game, we've just thought of three possible settings, the shops ,tennis match, a tennis court and a restaurant.

I would like you to have a think now of loads of different places like the shops, maybe a pool, or a park or the beach.

And I want you to write down a list of as many settings as many places that you can think of.

They might be places that you've been to, or they might be places you want to go like the moon or they might be imaginary places like Pause the video now to complete your task and resume once you're finished.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work today.

And for listening to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

I would love you to have a go at telling someone in your house that story before our next lesson.

See you later.

Bye bye.
