Hello, everyone.

It's Miss Doherty.

How are you? Today, we're going to revisit the recount piece that I told in lesson one.

Don't worry if you weren't in lesson one.

I'll tell it again.

Then, we'll create a map to help us learn it, and you'll have a go at telling it too.

I hope you're ready.

In this lesson, you will need an exercise book or paper, a pencil, and of course, your brain.

You can pause the video now while you go and get those items. We're going to start today by singing a nursery rhyme.

Then, we'll listen to and join in with the piece.

And finally, we'll create our own maps.

The colour on my screen reminds me of the sea, and I know a nursery rhyme all about the sea.

You can listen first if you don't know it and join in the second time.

♪ A sailor went to sea, sea, sea ♪ ♪ To see what he could see, see, see ♪ ♪ But all that he could see, see, see ♪ ♪ Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea ♪ Should we try that together? ♪ A sailor went to sea, sea, sea ♪ ♪ To see what he could see, see, see ♪ ♪ But all that he could see, see, see ♪ ♪ Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea ♪ Let's try that line by line.

♪ A sailor went to sea, sea, sea ♪ Can you sing it? ♪ A sailor went to sea, sea, sea ♪ Well done.

♪ To see what he could see, see, see ♪ Let's try that together.

♪ To see what he could see, see, see ♪ And the next bit.

♪ But all that he could see, see, see ♪ All together.

♪ But all that he could see, see, see ♪ And the final bit.

♪ Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea ♪ Let's put that all together after this last line.

♪ Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea ♪ All together.

♪ A sailor went to sea, sea, sea ♪ ♪ To see what he could see, see, see ♪ ♪ But all that he could see, see, see ♪ ♪ Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea ♪ One more time.

♪ A sailor went ♪ Oh no, Miss Doherty! I got my seas muddled.

♪ A sailor went to sea, sea, sea ♪ ♪ To see what he could see, see, see ♪ ♪ But all that he could see, see, see ♪ ♪ Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea ♪ That's a fun one, isn't it? Now, we're going to think a little bit more about that nursery rhyme.

What do you think the sea looks like? Have you ever been to the sea? Have you swam in the sea, or paddled, or just looked at the sea? Do you live near the sea, or do you live far away from the sea? Have you been on holiday to the sea, or have you seen pictures or videos of the sea? What I would love you to do now is pause your video and draw me a picture of the sea.

I want you to think lots about what the sea might look like, what it might feel like, what it might sound like, and try and put all of that into your picture.

Pause the video now to complete your task.

Here's my picture of the sea.

What can you see in my picture of the sea? Did you see the bird? Can you see the small, yellow fish swimming in a school, that means a group of fish? Can you see the shark's fin? Can you see the seaweed, or the starfish, or how about the dolphin's snout poking out of the water, as though it's about to jump? I've also drawn a plastic bottle.

Unfortunately, sometimes there is rubbish in the sea if people haven't recycled or disposed of things properly.

There's also an octopus.

How many legs does an octopus have? Legs? How many tentacles does an octopus have? Shall we count them together? Put your finger on the screen.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

That's right.

In your picture of the sea, what have you drawn? Can you pause the video now and tell me all about your drawing, everything that's included in your drawing? I'm going to map the recount I told in lesson one now.

Don't worry if you weren't in lesson one because as I create my map, I will retell the piece.

We're going to map the piece now.

As I tell the recount, I'll be thinking of some simple drawings that will help you remember it, and then I'll put them together into a map.

So, remember, this recount is from the point of view of Baby Bear, and Baby Bear is telling what has happened, Baby Bear is remembering, recounting the events of that fateful day when Baby Bear met Goldilocks.

I came home one day, walking through the deep, green forest.

Let's just draw a tree to remember that.

It's very important we think about the setting.

I came home one day, walking through the deep, green forest until I came to my little cottage right in the middle.

As we walked, we sang.

♪ We're three bears, three bears ♪ ♪ Living in a cottage in the wood ♪ ♪ Three bears, three bears ♪ ♪ Living here together feels so good ♪ I live there with my daddy, my mummy, and I am Baby Bear.

We love each other very much.

And so that I remember, this recount is about three bears.

So, that's the first section.

I'm drawing my arrow.

Now, we're moving on to the next part of the recount.

On this terrible day, we lifted the latch and went into the cottage.

As soon as I came into our little kitchen, the sun was streaming through the window.

I'm going to draw the sun in a window.

Remember, as we always say, doesn't matter if the drawing isn't immediately obvious.

It's just so that you remember when I look at that, I'll know that's the sun streaming through the window.

As I came into our little kitchen, the sun was streaming through the window, and to my horror, I saw that my porridge had been eaten! Daddy's bowl was still full of porridge, and so was Mummy's.

But my bowl was empty.

Someone had eaten all the porridge.

When Mummy and Daddy looked closer, they realised that there was also a mouthful missing out of their bowls.

How bizarre! They went over to their bowls.

"Someone's been eating my porridge," roared my daddy.

"Someone's been eating my porridge," shouted my mummy.

"Someone's been eating my porridge too, and they've eaten it all up." And I began to cry.

So, I'm going to draw my bowl, my porridge bowl.

I'm going to put a big cross through it because there was no more porridge, and Baby Bear began to cry.

We walked through the hallway into the living room, where we each have our very own chairs.

Daddy has a big chair, Mummy has a medium size chair, and I have a small chair perfect for me, Baby Bear.

"Someone's been sitting in my chair," roared Daddy.

"Someone's been sitting in my chair," shouted my mummy.

"Someone's been sitting in my chair, and it's fallen to pieces!" And I started to cry again.

So, we're going to just very quickly draw a picture of a chair.

And once again I'm going to draw a great, big cross through my chair because it has fallen to pieces after someone has sat in it.

Finally, we walked up the stairs to the bedroom.

"Someone's been sleeping in my bed," roared my daddy.

"Someone's been sleeping in my bed," roared my mummy.

"Someone's been sleeping in my bed, and she's still there!" I'm going to draw a bed.

That's a very small bed.

It's going to be hard for me to fit Goldilocks in there.

But that's okay.

I'll just try my best.

There's Goldilocks, in my bed.

All three of us roared.

And the little girl with the golden hair jumped up out of my bed, leapt straight out of the window, and we haven't seen her since.

So, for that part, hmm.

How could I remember that all three bears roared? I could do an angry face.

They all roared, and the little girl jumped up, straight out of the bed and leapt out of the window, and we never saw her again.

So, I'm going to do an eye for seeing.

Better cross through it because we never saw her again.

Now, it's your turn to map the recount.

Pause the video while you create your own map.

Mine's on the screen, so you can use that to help you.

Maybe you'll use some of the same pictures, or, perhaps, you'll think of your own.

Pause the video now to complete your task.

Have you created your map? We should be able to use our maps to tell the recount ourself.

Pause the video now, and use your map to tell the recount.

I loved working with you today.

I hope I see you in our next lesson.

Bye bye!.
