Hello everyone.

It's Miss Doherty.

In today's lesson, we're going to map and speak the story.

The story you heard in lesson one was The Three Little Pigs.

Don't worry if you weren't in lesson one, because we'll revisit the story as I create the story map.

I hope you're ready.

In this lesson, you will need an exercise book or paper and a pencil.

Pause the video now while you go and get those items. We are going to start our lesson today by singing a nursery rhyme.

I think you'll know this one.

Then we'll map the story and finally we'll speak the story.

Let's sing Old MacDonald Had a Farm.

Do you know it? I thought you would.

♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O ♪ ♪ And on that farm, he had some hens E I E I O ♪ ♪ With a cluck cluck here and a cluck cluck there ♪ ♪ Here's a cluck, there's a cluck ♪ ♪ Everywhere a cluck cluck ♪ ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O ♪ ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O ♪ ♪ And on that farm he had some dogs, E I E I O ♪ ♪ With a woof woof there and woof woof here ♪ ♪ Here's a woof, there's a woof ♪ ♪ Everywhere a woof woof ♪ ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O ♪ ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O ♪ ♪ And on that farm he had some cats E I E I O ♪ ♪ With a meow meow here and a meow meow there ♪ ♪ Here's a meow, there's a meow ♪ ♪ Everywhere a meow meow ♪ ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O ♪ ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O ♪ ♪ And on that farm he had some cows, E I E I O ♪ ♪ With a moo moo here and moo moo there ♪ ♪ Here a moo, there a moo ♪ ♪ Everywhere a moo moo ♪ ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O ♪ ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O ♪ ♪ And on that farm he had some horses, E I E I O ♪ ♪ With a neigh here and neigh there ♪ ♪ Here a neigh, there a neigh ♪ ♪ Everywhere neigh ♪ ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O ♪ Can you think of another farm animal and add another verse? What else? Of course, pigs! let's try that together.

Have you got your pencil ready? Once upon a time, there were three little pigs who lived with their mum.

So let's write the number three.

And we're going to have a go at drawing a pig.

Now remember that it doesn't matter if your pictures aren't amazing.

They're just for you to remember.

And if you've been in any of my previous lessons, you'll know that Miss Doherty is not an amazing artist or an amazing singer, but I don't let that stop me.

And neither should you.

Once there were three little pigs who lived with their mum.

One day, she said off you go and build your own houses.

So I'm going to do a speech bubble now.

And in my speech bubble, I'm going to draw a very simple little house.

Mommy pig said off you go and build your own houses.

Remember to build them strong.

What should we have to remind us of strong? Should we try drawing a strong arm? Let's try.

Here we go.

That's gone very well.

Oh, I might have spoken too soon.

Nope.

There we go.

Perfect.

So there's our first step of the story.

Now, the first pig, I'm going to draw a number one, built his house of straw.

Just going to draw lots of bits of straw.

Along came the wolf and said little pig, little pig, let me come in.

Not by the hair of my chinny, chin chin.

Then I'll Huff and I'll blow your house down.

I'm going to draw some air coming out of the wolf's mouth as he blows the house down.

The wolf huffed and puffed and blew the house down.

And he ate up the little pig.

Oh dear, oh dear.

Now we come to the second little pig who built his house out of wood, I'm going to draw some sticks of wood there.

Along came the wolf and said, little pig, little pig let me come in.

Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin.

Then I'll and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down.

The wolf huffed and puffed and blew the house down.

So I'm going to draw the air coming out of the wolf's mouth as he huffs and puffs, and gobble gobble gobble, he ate up the second pig.

The third little pig built his house out of bricks.

Draw a brick.

Along came the wolf and said, little pig, little pig let me come in.

Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin.

Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down.

So we'll draw the air again.

But this time, the wolf huffed and he puffed and he couldn't blow the house down.

So the wolf went home and the little pig was glad.

Now it's your turn to create a story map of the three little pigs.

I've put my map onto the screen to remind you.

You might want to use some of the same pictures, or you may have your own ideas.

Pause the video now to complete your task.

Now you should have your very own story map in front of you.

Mine's on the screen and I'm going to be using that one as I speak the story.

Then it will be your turn to tell the story.

I'm going to look at the story map.

And as I tell the story, I'm going to use that to remind me.

Once there were three little pigs who lived with their mum.

One day, she said off you go and build your own houses.

Remember to build them strong.

The first pig built his house out of straw.

Along came the wolf and said little pig, little pig let me come in.

The wolf huffed and puffed and blew the house down.

And he ate up the little pig.

The second little pig built his house of wood.

Along came the wolf and said little pig, little pig let me come in.

Not by the hair of my chinny, chin chin.

Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down.

So he huffed and he puffed and he blew the house down and he ate up the little pig.

The third little pig built his house of bricks.

Along came the wolf and said little pig, little pig let me come in.

Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down.

The wolf huffed and he puffed.

But he couldn't blow the house down.

So the wolf went home and the little pig was glad.

Now it's your turn to use your story map to tell the story.

You can use your finger and move from image to image to help remind you.

Mine's on the screen just in case you need an extra reminder.

Pause the video now to complete your task and resume once you're finished.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

I hope you enjoyed creating your story map and then using your story map to tell the story.

I would love for you to use your story map to tell the story to someone in your house before our next lesson.

See you then.
