Hi, everyone.

Welcome to lesson 10 in our unit, The Fox's Sack.

This is the final lesson of the unit.

So we are going to make it extra fun today.

I loved looking at all of your amazing writing, and your pictures from lesson nine.

Some of you had a really, really good go at doing that.

Today, we are going to be in for a treat, because we are going to recycle the story that we've learned.

The Fox's Sack.

And we are going to have a go and making it our own story.

Let's see what you're going to need for today's lesson.

In today's lesson, you are going to need some paper or a work book, you're going to need a pencil, your Teddy Talk Partner and your thinking brain.

If you need to go and get any of those things, press the pause button now.

And when you're ready, press play.

We're going to start off our lesson by playing a game.

Then we're going to do some singing together, and then we're going to recycle our story.

Me and Ted are now going to have a go at playing our game.

Our game today, it's called phone call home, and you might have played this one before.

I am going to pretend to be the lady at the end of the story, the fourth lady and I am going to call my mum and tell her all about my day.

The teddy is going to pretend to be my mum.

Let's see what she's got to say.

Ring, ring, ring, ring.

Hi mum.

Hi.

Hi mum.

You will not believe what has happened in my day.

Ooh.

Can you tell me? Today, a cheeky cheeky at fox came and knocked on my door and he asked me to look after his bag for him.

I didn't really think anything of it.

So I just left it in my front room.

Oh, Mummy says that sounds like a really nice thing of me to do.

Well, I thought I was being nice as well, but then me and my daughter were making some biscuits.

She asked for one, once they were cooked on the bag that the fox had left here, it started talking to me! It shouted out, me too.

It gave me quite a fright.

I jumped right out of my skin.

It does sound scary.

Doesn't it? I was very scared, mummy.

And then you'll never guess what? I decided that I would trick the Fox.

I took the boy out of the sack and I put our grizzly dog in there and the Fox took the grizzly dog away.

Can you see how me and teddy had a go at playing? Phone call home.

I wonder if you can play phone call home with someone in your home today.

We're now ready to sing our story songs to get your singing voices ready and let's give it a go.

We'll do my turn, and then your turn.

♪ Did you ever see a fox, a fox, a fox ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a fox that is so greedy ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a fox, a fox, a fox ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a fox that is so greedy ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a bee, a bee, a bee ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a bee that buzzes all around ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a bee, a bee, a bee ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a bee that buzzes all around ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a chicken, a chicken, a chicken ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a chicken that runs on the ground ♪ ♪Did you ever see a chicken, a chicken, a chicken ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a chicken that runs on the ground ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a pig, a pig, a pig ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a pig being chased by the boy ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a pig, a pig, a pig ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a pig being chased by the boy? ♪ ♪ Did you ever see a dog, a dog, a dog.

♪ ♪ Did you ever see a dog bite the fox on the tail? ♪ Well done.

We have finished off our story song there.

Thank you for joining in with me.

We are now ready to recycle our story.

That means we are going to change the story of the fox's sack that we know, and we are going to add in some different parts.

So let's start off by telling our story from the beginning.

We're just going to very quickly say what happens in each picture.

At the beginning of the story, the fox has a sack because he's really, really hungry.

He puts a buzzy bee in his sack and he takes his sack with the buzzy bee to a lady's house.

He knocks on the door and he leaves his bag there.

But what does he tell her to not do? Don't look in the sack.

Does she look? Yes, she does.

The lady looks in the sack and the bee comes out.

So when the Fox returns, what does he do? He takes her chicken.

Well remembered.

The Fox goes to the next house and he knocks on the door and he leaves his bag there.

What happens when the lady looks in his sack? The chicken comes out.

So what does the Fox take instead? He takes the pig.

Well done.

He then goes off to the next house where he leaves his sack.

What's happens when the lady opens the bag? The pig runs away and the boy chases it.

When Mr. Fox comes back, he has no pig now.

So what does he do take? He takes the boy.

He goes to the fourth house.

Does the fourth lady look in the bag? No, she doesn't.

She doesn't look.

She makes some biscuits instead, but the boy smells the biscuits and asks for one.

So the woman decides to trick the fox by taking the boy out of the sack, and putting the grizzly dog into the sack.

The Fox takes his sack and he's feeling really, really hungry.

He puts his hand in and what does he find? There is a dog in his bag.

He chases him into the forest and back to his den.

The fox is still hungry.

So, we have had to go at telling our story the whole way through.

Now we're going to have a go at changing some parts in the story.

You can now see on your screen that I have covered up the Fox because our story is no longer going to be called The Fox's Sack.

It's going to be a different animal's sack.

So, can you tell your screen some ideas.

Who could be carrying around a sack, looking for some food? Tell me your ideas now.

What animal? I can hear some lions, the lion's sack.

I can hear some butterflies, but butterfly's sack I can hear lots and lots of different ideas.

I am going to chose the cat's sack.

So instead of a fox, our animal is now going to be a cat.

In a minute, you are going to get to have a go at recycling the story yourself, and you can choose whatever animal you would like.

So, I'm going to tell the beginning of the story, but with my new animal, okay? Listening to see if you can hear the differences.

Once upon a time, there was a very hungry cat.

She caught herself a sack.

She was very hungry and she could hear a bee buzzing around.

So she grabbed the bee and she puts it in the sack and tied it up tightly.

She put it over her shoulder and she walked into the village singing.

♪ Nobody knows it ♪ ♪ Nobody knows it.

♪ ♪ Nobody knows what's in my sack but me ♪ She came to the first house and she knocked on the door.

She asked the lady who was inside.

Can I leave my bag here while I visit my friend? Can you see how our story is now all about a cat with a sack? I have left a picture of the story map up on the screen, but I have covered up the picture of the foxes.

I wonder if you can think of your own animal and change our story.

So it was no longer the fox's sack, it's a different animal sack.

You can choose.

I can't wait to hear all of your ideas.

So have a think about which character you would like instead of a fox, and then have a go at telling the story.

But instead of talking about the fox, talk about your new animal.

So press the pause button now.

Retell your recycled story and press the play button when you are ready.

Wow.

I had so many different animals being talked about.

We had chimpanzee's sack.

We had butterfly's sacks.

We had caterpillar's sacks.

We even had an elephant's sack.

I loved all of your ideas.

Well done.

We are now at the end of our unit, the foxes sack.

This is the end of lesson 10.

I have absolutely loved working with all of you and I can't wait to see lots and lots of your work.

I wonder if at home, you can have a go at changing different parts of the story.

Instead of changing the key animal, you might want to change the things that he puts in the sack.

Maybe instead of knocking on the doors of the women, he knocks on someone else's doors.

Maybe he has a different trick to play.

Maybe he's not hungry.

Maybe he's collecting animals and he needs something else.

Remember, we've been learning all about action in this unit.

So make it really clear exactly what is happening in the story.

I wonder if you can have a go at retelling the story in all those different ways, Have a fantastic day.

Thank you for joining in so nicely, bye! We would absolutely love to see your story maps, your writing, your drawings, even your recycled stories that you have been making during unit 15 on the fox's sack.

If you would like to, please ask your parent or carer to share your work on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, tagging @OakNational and #LearnwithOak.

We can't wait to see what you've been getting up to.
