Hi everyone.

And welcome to lesson six on the Sweet Talking Potato.

I have been somewhere Mm.

I have met someone this morning.

I met a baker.

They had a special loaf.

I wonder if my loaf is going to be as special as the one that's in our Sweet Talking Potato story.

Do you think my loaf is going to speak to us today? Let's wait and find out shall we? In today's lesson you are going to need your story map from lesson two in this unit.

If you don't have a story map, don't worry because you can use my one on the screen.

You're also going to need your Teddy talk partner to play some games and do some activities with.

And of course you are going to need your thinking brain.

So if you need to go and get your story map or your Teddy talk partner, press the pause button now, go and find them and press the play button when you're ready.

Coming up in today's lesson we are going to start off playing a game, with our Teddy talk partners, called Tell Me More.

Then we are going to do some singing together, and then we're going to have a go at acting out the story.

I can't wait.

Our game today is called Tell Me More.

You might've played this one before, but if not, don't worry.

You're just going to need your Teddy talk partner with you to help you out.

So to start off our game I am going to talk about something and then Teddy is going to ask me to tell him more about a part of the sentence that I have said.

Let's see if you can join it in afterwards.

Okay, Teddy, are you ready? My favourite character in the story is the King.

Teddy says, "Tell me more about the King." The King was amazed.

Teddy says, "Tell me more about amazed." The King was amazed because his throne talked to him.

Teddy says, "Tell me more about talked." In the Sweet Talking Potato there were animals and objects that could talk.

Teddy says, "Tell me more about objects." A potato and a loaf of bread could talk.

Objects don't normally talk.

I hope you enjoyed watching me and Teddy have a go playing Tell Me More today.

Now it's your turn.

Get your talk partner Ted out, press the pause button, and have a go at playing Tell Me More.

Press the play button, once you've had to go.

Well done, it was lovely to see all of you asking so many questions and saying, "Tell me more." about different things that you're talk partner Ted had said.

Now it's time for a part of the lesson that I have been so excited for.

We are going to have a go at doing some role play and acting out different parts of the story.

So you need to find yourself a part of your home where you can stand up.

If you can get a little bit more space, that would be amazing, but don't worry.

You just need to be able to stand up.

So press the pause button now.

Find yourself a space and then press the play button once you are ready to go.

I'll meet you there.

You made it.

We're in our space and we are ready to act out our story.

Are you ready to become an actor? Put your acting brain on.

Let's give it to go.

So to become an actor, we need to put ourselves into the story.

We are going to think about the beginning of the story and think about what happens.

So transport yourself in.

Let's go to the beginning of the story.

The first character in our story is the farmer.

What's the farmer doing? He might be walking around his farm.

Maybe he's going to get his sheep.

But he is feeling, oh, hungry.

Can you pretend to be a hungry farmer? Oh, maybe you're rubbing your tummy.

What do you think? I have got an idea.

I am going to go to my field.

And I am going to dig up a potato.

Are you ready to get that potato? Ah, pick it up.

Here it is.

But, oh no, to our amazement, what happens to the potato? Show me.

What does the potato do? "Hands Off!" Yelled the the potato.

Show me what the farmer might do.

Oh, there's a potato talking.

Oh! Who does he ask? He turns to his dog.

Find your dog.

Was that you, dog? Did you speak? What's happens next? What does the dog say to the farmer? Can you show me? Very good.

Have a go at doing it with me.

"It wasn't me.

It was the potato." Very, very good, if you joined in with that one.

Can you pretend to be the farmer? How does the farmer react? What does he do? He's scared.

He screams and he runs away.

Are you ready to act it out? Ahhh! Let's run as fast as our legs will carry us.

Can you join in, run as fast, as fast, as fast as you can.

All the way until we get to the.

? Can you remember where we get to? The market place.

Let's look around.

What can you see? What can you hear? Oh, I can hear What can you hear? Can you hear some chickens? Can you see a man selling chickens? Oh, let's run to the man selling chickens.

Can you become the man selling chickens? "Why are you running so fast, when the day is so hot?" Can you ask the farmer why he's running? "Why are you running so fast, when the day is so hot?" The farm's really hot.

Get really, really hot.

Or what might you do if you're hot? Oh, brush your hair away? Oh, might need to fan your face.

Maybe we need to sit down.

What does the farmer say? "First a potato spoke to me, then a dog spoke to me." What does the man selling chickens do? "That's impossible." But who comes out? Who was going around the floor? What does the chicken say? Tell me.

Very good.

And do it with your acting wings.

Pretend you're the chicken.

"Oh no it's not." Cried the chicken.

What do we need to pretend to be again? The farmer.

And what does he do? The chicken's just spoken to him.

Show me you're running away? Very good.

Can you do that screaming at the same time? The farmer screamed and he ran away as fast as his legs would carry him.

Where are we going to come to now? We are going to run all the way to the bakery.

Can you smell the bread? Can you see all the loaves and the cakes in the Baker's shop? Oh.

Go and find the baker.

What does the baker say? Can you tell your screen now? What might the Baker sound like? "Why are you running so fast, when the day is so hot?" What does the farmer say? He's getting a little bit worried right now and a little bit upset.

Can you make your voice sound like that? Do it with me.

"First I met a potato that talked.

"Then my dog spoke.

"And now a chicken has spoken to me." Very good acting.

What does the Baker say? "That's impossible." "Oh no it's not." Can you pretend to be the farmer again? What does he do? He screams. He says, "Ahhh!", and he.

We're going to run away as fast as our legs will carry us.

Can you join in running away? Run, and run, and run, all the way until you come to meet who? The King.

Let's get ourselves in the King's palace.

Are you ready? And what does the King say to the farmer? I'm going to have a turn then you can copy me.

Or you can do it by yourself.

"Why are you running so fast, "when the day is so hot?" You're turn, go on, join in.

Very good.

What does the farmer say? He's talking to the King.

He's really worried.

Get your worried voice on.

"First a potato spoke to me.

Then my dog spoke to me.

"Then a chicken spoke to me.

"And now a loaf of bread has spoken to me." Very good upset farmer.

The King is quite angry.

You can stand up for this part.

And what does the King say? He tells the farmer to, "Get out." Say it with me, you ready in your cross voice.

"Get out.

"That's impossible, you foolish man." Can you join in with that part with me? Because the King is feeling quite angry.

"Get out.

That's impossible, you foolish man." Can you become the the sad farmer? Oh.

He's sad.

And he leaves.

Can you leave feeling sad like the farmer? 'Cause the King doesn't believe you.

Oh, fantastic acting.

Now the King comes to his throne.

And what does he say? "That foolish man for thinking that objects can talk." But then, what does he hear? Can you become the throne? Can you tell me what the throne says? "Whoever heard of a talking potato." Wow, what fantastic acting you have done today.

Thank you so much for joining in.

If you would now like to have a go at doing some role play and acting by yourself at home, press the pause button.

Have a go at using the story map that's on your screen to think about the different parts of the story and have a go at acting out all of those different parts.

Or you might just want to choose your favourite part.

You can decide.

So press the pause button.

And then when you have done your acting out, press the play button.

See you in a minute.

I love to see so many of you having a go at doing some acting by yourself.

You all did such an amazing job.

So give yourself a big pat on the back.

Well done.

Sadly, we are now at the end of lesson six from our units on the Sweet Talking Potato.

I wonder if, before lesson seven, you could collect some items from your house.

Maybe you could ask your grownups if you've got a spare potato at home.

Maybe you could ask your grownups if you could borrow some bread and you could have a go at acting out your story to someone at home.

I hope you would have a lot of fun doing that.

You might even want to change some of the characters.

Have to think about what other animals the farmer could meet.

Maybe he meets a cat instead of a dog.

Is it going to be the potato that talks? Maybe you could think of a different type of vegetable that grows on a farm that the farmer could try to pick.

I would love to hear all of your amazing ideas in lesson seven.

So have an amazing time with your acting and I'll see you next time.

Bye.
