Hi, everyone.

Welcome to your fourth lesson in this unit with me, Miss Brittain.

In today's lesson, we will sing our discussion, which is going to help us deepen our understanding of it.

We'll start off with our nursery rhyme.

Then we'll recap step in the discussion, and then we'll sing the discussion.

For today's lesson you'll need your listening ears, your super memory and your Teddy talk partner or whatever you use instead.

You can pause the video now to go and get whatever you need and then press play when you return.

Let's start with our nursery rhyme.

Our version of the hokey cokey using discussion features.

If you can remember it from the other lessons, you can join in from the beginning, but if not, listen first and then join in afterwards.

♪ You list the advantages ♪ ♪ You list the disadvantages ♪ ♪ Advantages and disadvantages ♪ ♪ You think it all about ♪ ♪ You do the discussion and you work it out ♪ ♪ That's what it's all about ♪ Are you ready? Well done.

♪ Whoa, the discussion.

♪ ♪ Whoa, the discussion.

♪ ♪ Whoa, the discussion.

♪ ♪ That's what it's all about.

♪ ♪ You list the ♪ Well done.

♪ Advantages, you list the ♪ ♪ disadvantages ♪ ♪ Advantages and disadvantages ♪ ♪ You think it all about ♪ ♪ You do the discussion and you ♪ ♪ Work it out ♪ Well done.

♪ That's what it's all about ♪ ♪ Whoa, the discussion ♪ ♪ Whoa, the discussion ♪ ♪ Whoa, the discussion ♪ ♪ That's what it's all about ♪ Now, we'll recap step in the discussion using our discussion maps.

Okay, I'm going to step it through.

You can join in with me and then if you feel like you need to afterwards, you can pause it and keep practising.

Introduction, forest, ello.

Advantage one.

Advantage two.

Busy.

Advantage three, old enough now.

Disadvantage one, big, bad scary wolf.

Disadvantage two, Tired.

Disadvantage three, lost.

Conclusion, yes, but wood cutter.

Pause the video now and have a go at stepping through your map again to remind you of all the key advantages and disadvantages.

Now we're going to sing our discussion to deepen our understanding.

Now I know we've done our song about the features in a discussion text, the advantages and the disadvantages, but I thought we should do a song about the discussion on what they're actually discussing and whether or not Little Red Riding Hood should go into the woods alone.

So I've got a song for us Cedric, are you ready? It goes like this, I'll sing a bit first and then when you're feeling confident, children, you can join in.

♪ Should she go out in the wood ♪ ♪ I'm not sure, I'm not sure ♪ ♪ Mom says yes and sis says no, ♪ ♪ I'm not sure, I'm not sure ♪ And that's as Little Blue Running Shoes.

Do you want to see if you can join in now? ♪ Should she go out in the wood, I'm ♪ Great work.

♪ I'm not sure ♪ ♪ Mom says yes ♪ ♪ And sis says no ♪ ♪ I'm not sure, I'm not sure ♪ Okay, what were the reasons that sis needed to go into the wood that mom said yes.

What were the reasons? Can you shout at your screen one reason, children? Brilliant remembering, there was that Granny's sick and on her own, she's not busy and that she's old enough now to go alone so we'll put that into our words, okay, Cedric? ♪ Moms says Granny's feeling ♪ Sick.

♪ Mom says Granny's feeling sick ♪ ♪ Mom says sis is not busy ♪ ♪ Mom says she is old enough to go alone ♪ ♪ Mom says she has to go ♪ See if you can join in with that bit.

Mom says Gran is sick.

♪ Mom says Granny's feeling sick ♪ ♪ Mom says sis is not busy ♪ ♪ Mom says she's old enough to go alone ♪ ♪ Mom says she has to go ♪ And then what does sis say, Little Red Riding Hood is sis.

She says, it's too dangerous, wolves live there.

She says that she's tired.

And the last one that was, brilliant work, she might get lost.

Are you ready to sing this bit? Join in when you feel like you can ♪ Sis says it's too dangerous ♪ ♪ Wolves live there, wolves live there ♪ ♪ Ah she's very tired ♪ ♪ and she might get lost ♪ ♪ She says, no, she wont go ♪ You ready to join him with that bit, children? ♪ Sis says, no ♪ Sorry.

♪ Sis says it's too dangerous ♪ ♪ Wolves live there ♪ Brilliant, wolves live there.

♪ Plus she's very tired ♪ ♪ And she might get lost ♪ ♪ She says, no, she won't go.

♪ Should we go from the beginning this time, children? ♪ Should she go out in the wood ♪ ♪ I'm not sure, I'm not sure ♪ ♪ Mom says and sis says ♪ ♪ I'm not sure, I'm not sure ♪ ♪ Mom says granny's feeling sick ♪ ♪ Moms says sis is not busy ♪ ♪ Mom says she is old enough to go alone ♪ ♪ Mom says she has to ♪ Great work joining in.

♪ Sis says it's too dangerous ♪ ♪ Wolves live there ♪ ♪ Plus she's very tired and she might get lost ♪ ♪ Sis says no, she won't go ♪ Oh great work with the singing everybody.

I wonder if that helped you to remember some of the advantages and disadvantages.

You can pause the video and rewind it now, if you want to keep practising the song with your Teddy top partner.

I hope you enjoyed singing the discussion today.

Has it helped you to decide who you agree with more? Do you agree with Little Blue Running Shoes that she should have gone if she was safe? Or do you agree more with mom? Or do you agree with Little Red Riding Hood? Talk to your Teddy top partner after this video is over and try and decide who you agree with more.

Now, before we finish, I've got a big question for you.

And my big question, who would you rather be? Little Red Riding Hood or the big, bad Wolf? Do you want to have a go at answering that big question, Cedric? Cedric said he'd rather be Little Red Riding Hood because even though she was a bit silly and a bit foolish to think she was out of danger, she was still a good person and a kind person by going to her sick grandmothers house.

I like that Cedric.

You could have a go with your Teddy top partner after this lesson is over, discussing your answer to the big question.

We'll see you in the next lesson.
