Hi, everyone.

Welcome to your fourth lesson in this unit with me, Ms. Britain and my talk partner Cedric.

Our learning objective today is to sing a story to show wonder and excitement because our stories all about the middle, that leaves our audience guessing and wondering if Little Red Riding Hood will be okay.

In today's lesson we'll start off with our nursery rhyme, we'll recap the story by stepping it like last lesson, and then we will sing the story.

For today's lesson, you will need your story map, your super memory, and your teddy talk partner.

You can pause the video now if you need to to get any items that you need and then press play once you return.

Do you know Cedric, I've been thinking a lot about the characters in our story and I can't work out if we should feel sorry for the little red riding hood or if she was foolish to think that there wasn't any danger down the winding path or when she met the wolf.

What do you think? Yeah, Cedric says he does feel sorry for her, because obviously she was eaten by a wolf and that's not very fair, but her mother did say don't stray from the straight path and don't talk to any strangers.

If you met a wolf and you were alone, what would you do? Would you carry on and act like you weren't in danger? Have a chat to your teddy talk partner and see what you think.

Now it's time for our nursery rhyme and we'll be singing our version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with our characters from the story.

We'll sing the nursery rhyme twice and if you can't remember it from the last lesson, you can always join in the second time.

♪ Little Red Riding Hood, ♪ ♪ Feeling frightened in a wood.

♪ ♪ What is that over there? ♪ ♪ Could it be a scary wolf? ♪ ♪ Little Red Riding Hood ♪ ♪ feeling frightened in a wood.

♪ Once more.

♪ Little Red Riding Hood, ♪ ♪ feeling frightened in a wood.

♪ ♪ What is that over there? ♪ ♪ Could it be a scary wolf? ♪ ♪ Little Red Riding Hood, ♪ ♪ Feeling frightened in a wood.

♪ If you'd like to, you could practise that with your teddy talk partner or try and put some of your own words to it.

Now we'll recap the story by stepping our story maps.

Now, remember when we're stepping our story, we're thinking about that wonder, that excitement and how Little Red Riding Hood is feeling.

So I'll step it once and then I'll step it again and you can join in.

Okay? So and you might want you story map here to remind you of each step.

Now we're going to sing the story and try to build wonder and excitement and drama into our song.

Our story is all about wondering what's going to happen to Little Red Riding Hood.

and we know she that she puts herself in danger, and he's wondering where the wolf is and when he's going to pop back up.

So I thought we'd do a song thinking about wondering what's going to happen.

So that's the question we're going to ask in our song all the way through.

♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ Can you have a go at that line? Great work.

So where does Little Red Riding Hood start? Well, she's in the forest.

♪ Little Red Riding Hood in the forest, ♪ ♪ in the forest, in the forest.

♪ ♪ Little Red Riding Hood in the ♪ ♪ Forest.

♪ ♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ Can you join in with that one now children.

♪ Little Red Riding Hood in the forest, ♪ ♪ in the forest, ♪ ♪ in the forest.

♪ ♪ Little Red Riding Hood in the forest, ♪ ♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ Okay, so what happens next? She might hear a noise.

A noise I like that because that builds excitement and makes our reader a little bit scared.

You ready, Cedric? What should we say now? What was that noise? Yeah, we could say that.

♪ What's that noise did you hear, ♪ ♪ did you hear, did you hear? ♪ ♪ What's that noise that you hear? ♪ ♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ Okay, so who does she meet next or where does she come to? The wolf.

What might the wolf be doing? Can you tell your teddy talk and it's something that the wolf might be doing.

He could be growling.

He could be staring.

He could be snarling.

Should we put that to our song? ♪ Growling, staring, snarling, ♪ ♪ snarling, snarling ♪ ♪ Growling, staring, snarling, ♪ ♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ Great work children.

What happens next? She gets to grandma's house and the wolf is in the bed.

So we're going to say who's that in the bed, in the bed, in the bed.

Who's that in the bed? I wonder what's going to happen? Great work.

You ready? ♪ Who's that in the bed, ♪ ♪ in the bed, in the bed.

♪ ♪ Who's that in the bed? ♪ ♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ What happens next, Cedric? Yes, big eyes, big ears, big nose and then sharp teeth.

So we might say, she says, "Oh my." ♪ Oh my what big eyes you have, ♪ ♪ eyes you have, eyes you have.

♪ ♪ Oh, my what big eyes you have.

♪ ♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ Can you have a go at singing the next bit? Oh my, what big ears you have.

Pause the video now and then we'll join back in at nose.

Great work if you gave that a go.

Should we do nose together? ♪ Oh my what big nose you have, ♪ ♪ nose you have, nose you have.

♪ ♪ Oh my what a big nose you have.

♪ Starting to feel scared now.

♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ And then it's the big teeth.

Whichever you prefer.

♪ Oh my what sharp teeth you have, ♪ ♪ teeth you have, teeth you have.

♪ ♪ Oh my what sharp teeth you have.

♪ ♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ Roar! I like to end our song on a growl.

If you'd like to, you can pause the video now and go back to the beginning and join in.

I'm going to do the first verse and the last verse again.

So you can join in with me now or rewind it to any of your favourite points.

You ready, Cedric? Little Red Riding Hood in the Forest.

♪ Little Red Riding Hood in the forest, ♪ ♪ in the forest, in the forest.

♪ ♪ Little Red Riding Hood in the forest.

♪ ♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ I'm about to oh my.

I'm going to point to you Cedric like you're a wolf.

Don't forget the big growl at the end.

♪ Oh my, what big eyes you have, ♪ ♪ eyes you have, eyes you have.

♪ ♪ Oh, my what big eyes have.

♪ ♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ Don't forget to show your scared face.

♪ ♪ I wonder what's going to happen? ♪ Roar! Oh, well done children, if you managed to sing the story with us today.

I loved that song.

My favourite part of the song, is the end when it starts to build up that drama and then the big growl at the end.

Can you tell your teddy talk partner what your favourite part of the song was? Cedric, what was your favourite part? Oh, you like the growling, staring, snarling.

You could put some really good actions to that.

If you'd like to you can pause the video and keep practising the song and rewind it and have a go with your teddy talk partner.

See if you can do your best growl and your best snarl.

Great work everybody.

I really hope you enjoyed singing the story today children and showing that wonder and excitement for our song.

Before we go, I'd like to do a bit of hot seating, Cedric.

Is that okay? Oh, brilliant.

I'd like to go into role as Little Red Riding Hood.

And could you ask me some questions? I want to imagine what Little Red Riding Hood would say.

Is that all right, Cedric? Okay.

Cedric said why didn't you listen to your mom about taking the correct pathway? She said stick to the straight path.

Well, when I looked down the straight path, it looked really scary and the winding path, well there were flowers there and I wanted to get some flowers for my grandma because she wasn't feeling well.

Cedric said do you not think about listening to your mom though? She said don't go down that path.

Did you not think you'd be in danger? I did wonder a little bit, but the winding path just looked so inviting.

How did you feel when you met the wolf? Well, I was terrified.

I wondered if he was going to hurt me, but when the hunters came and scared him away, I was relieved.

Did you not think that the wolf would carry on following you? Could you have a go at going into role as Little Red Riding Hood children and answering that question? Great work if you had a go.

If you'd like to you could carry on hot seating with your teddy talk partner.

Pretend you are Little Red Riding Hood or pretend you are the wolf.

Great work in today's lesson, everybody.

And I'll see you in the next lesson.

Bye.
