Hi, everyone, welcome to your third lesson in the unit with me Miss Brittain.

In today's lesson, we are going to speak and step the story and when we step a story, we put clear actions to our story map to help us remember the main event.

In today's lesson, we'll start off with our nursery rhyme.

Then we're going to recap the story by speaking our story map, and then we're going to step the story.

Don't worry if you haven't done this before, because we can work together on it.

You will need your story map from the last lesson, super memory and your teddy top partner or anything else that you use instead.

Pause the video now let's go get any items that you need and then press play when you return.

Now, last lesson we finished on a song "All about wondering" because that's what we're focusing on middles of story where we leave our audience wondering what happens next and makes them want to read on makes it really exciting.

So we'll start today with that song.

♪ Little Red Riding Hood ♪ ♪ walking through the forest ♪ ♪ I wonder if she'll be okay ♪ ♪ That could be danger in the forest ♪ ♪ I really hope she'll be okay ♪ Who does she meet in the forest children? That's right, a woof! ♪ Little Red Riding Hood meets a woof ♪ ♪ I really hope she'll be okay ♪ ♪ I wonder if he'll eater up ♪ ♪ I hope that she will be okay.

♪ Great work children! Now it's time for our nursery rhyme where we change the words in "Twinkle, twinkle little star" to fit with our story.

Don't worry if you weren't here for the last lesson or you can't remember our nursery rhyme because I'll sing it one and then we'll sing it again but if you do remember you can join in.

♪ Little Red Riding Hood ♪ ♪ Feeling frightened in a wood ♪ ♪ What is that up ahead ♪ ♪ Could it be scary woof ♪ ♪ Little Red Riding Hood ♪ ♪ Feeling frightened in a wood ♪ You ready to join in? ♪ Little Red Riding Hood ♪ ♪ Feeling frightened in a wood ♪ ♪ What is that up ahead ♪ ♪ Could it be a scary wolf ♪ ♪ Little Red Riding Hood ♪ ♪ Feeling frightened in a wood ♪ Great work everyone! Now to recap the story quickly we're going to speak our story maps.

Okay, so here is my story map, I'm going to speak mine up to a certain bit, then you're going to pause the video and have a go and speak in the rest of your story map with your teddy top partner, okay, so this is a bit, where Little Red Riding Hood mother tells her to go to her grandmother's house.

These are some trees, so this is the bit where she gets to the forest.

This is the bit in the story where the drama and the excitement starts to happen because she's entered the scary forest and now she gets to the two paths, the straight path which her mother to her to stick to and the winding path where she's attracted by the flowers.

Then it gets more exciting and what happens next? Pause the video now and see if you can have a go guess speaking the rest of your map with your teddy top partner.

Great work if you had a go at that children, and if you didn't, don't worry, you can always stop the video at the end and rewind it to have another go.

Now it's time to step our story.

Usually, when we step a story, we take one step forward, every time we come to a new section and our story map.

However, if you've not got much room, like I haven't got much room, we can step on the spot.

I just like to put my arms by my side, every time I come to a new action, to show it's the new step.

Now because our story of "Little Red Riding Hood" is all about wondering and building excitement.

When we step by the story today, we're going to be acting out how Little Red Riding Hood is feeling and what she's wondering at each section.

Now, if you step with me before, you might remember what to do, but if you don't don't worry, because I'm going to do it first and then you can join in with me, okay.

The first step of our story is where Little Red Riding Hood is told to go to the forest.

So I'm going to say, Little Red Riding Hood, grandma's and she wonders that if she's going to be okay.

She's scared with a Little Red Riding Hood, grand ma, scared, that's my first step.

Little Red Riding Hood, grandma, scared.

My next step is she arrives at the forest, So I am going to say forest, I wonder if she'll be okay? Forest, I wonder if she'll be okay? Then the third is a straight path, winding path.

And she doesn't listen to her she goes down the winding path, and we say, I hope she'll be okay.

So I'm going to do straight, winding, I hope she'll be okay.

Let's go from the beginning, Little Red Riding Hood, Forest, scared.

Forest, I wonder if she'll be okay.

Straight Path, winding path.

I hope she'll be okay.

Then after that is a big scary wolf.

You won't do that action, big scary woof and then Little Red Riding Hood is terrified, terrified, can you show me terrified? Okay, let's go from the beginning, Red Riding Hood, grandma, scared.

I hope she'll be okay.

Big scary wolf, terrified.

And the after that, comes the hunters, hunters of the Little Red Riding Hood that is relief.

Hunters, relief.

And then after the hunters comes the cottage and at that point we're questioning, where is the wolf? So we are going to say, grandma's house, I wonder where the wolf is? Grandma's house, I wonder what the wolf is? Shall we go from the beginning? Red Riding Hood, grandma's house, scared.

Forests, I wonder if she will be okay? Straight path, winding path.

I hope she'll be okay.

Big bad wolf, terrified.

Hunters, relief.

Grandma's house, I wonder why the wolf is? Great work so far to children! Then we come to, big eyes, big ears.

I wonder if it's the wolf? Sharp teeth, big eyes, big ears, I wonder if it's the wolf? Sharp teeth.

And then final step is, gobbled up, gobbled up.

And that's a for our audience.

Let's go from the beginning you, can join in with me now children.

Red Riding Hood, grandma's house and she's feeling terrified.

Forest, I wonder if she will be okay? Straight path, winding path.

I hope she'll be okay.

Big bad scary wolf, terrified.

Hunters, relief.

Grandma's house, I wonder where the wolf is? Big eyes, big ears, I wonder if it's the wolf? Sharp teeth, Great work children, I loved stepping the story and adding those I wonder moments and bits of drama to show how Little Red Riding Hood is feeling, I wonder if you enjoyed stepping the story? I wonder which step is your favourite? I think my favourite step, was the big bad scary, wolf.

I'm feeling terrified, can you show the screen your favourite step? Oh, I loved all of those steps too.

Before the next lesson, you might want to practise stepping story and if you feel like you've missed it, you can always rewind and pause wherever you want on the video.

Great work children.

Before we go, Cedric would like to do a little bit of a guess who? With some of the characters from the story.

Okay, I'm going to name one, I live by a forest, Cedric is right that could be grandma, It could be mom or it could be Little Red Riding Hood, so he said tell me more.

I meet a wolf.

That's right, Cedric said that could be grandma, or let's have Little Red Riding Hood.

I wear red cloak aha Cedric said it must be Little Red Riding Hood.

Now well done, did you guess children? You could play guess who? With the characters from the story too.

We'll see you in the next lesson bye, everyone.
