Hello, everyone, I hope you're having a good day.

Looks like this gingerbread man is, and I can tell that because he's got a big smile on his face.

By looking at my face, how would you think I'm feeling now? What was that? He thinks I was feeling happy and he's right.

I wonder if you can get this one.

Now I'm feeling, yes, I am feeling sad, or upset is another word we could use.

How about now? I'm feeling shocked or surprised.

In this lesson you will need your exercise book or some paper, a pencil, and of course your brain.

Pause the video now while you go and get them.

In today's lesson, we're going to start off by singing a nursery rhyme.

Then we're going to tell the story.

And after that, we're going to step the story.

♪ I am running just as fast as I can ♪ ♪ I am running as fast as I can ♪ ♪ No, you cannot catch me ♪ ♪ I'm as fast as can be ♪ ♪ I'm running just as fast as I can ♪ Should we sing that again? You can try and join in if you haven't already.

♪ I am running just as fast as I can ♪ ♪ I am running as fast as I can ♪ ♪ No, you cannot catch me ♪ ♪ I'm as fast as can be ♪ ♪ I'm running just as fast as I can ♪ Now, I would love to show you a new part of that song.

So listen carefully.

I'm going to sing it first.

And then when I go like this, I would like to hear you singing it.

♪ They all wanted to eat the gingerbread man ♪ ♪ They all wanted to eat the gingerbread man ♪ ♪ They all wanted to eat the gingerbread man ♪ ♪ They all wanted to eat the gingerbread man, ♪ ♪ But he ran so very fast ♪ ♪ That they couldn't catch up ♪ ♪ But he ran so very fast ♪ ♪ That they couldn't catch up ♪ ♪ Just the fox got to eat the gingerbread man ♪ ♪ Just the fox got to eat the gingerbread man ♪ Let's try that again.

All the way through.

♪ They all wanted to eat the gingerbread man ♪ ♪ They all wanted to eat the gingerbread man ♪ ♪ But he ran so very fast ♪ ♪ That they couldn't catch up ♪ ♪ Just the Fox got to eat the gingerbread man ♪ Now let's put it all together.

So first from the point of view of the gingerbread man, and then from point of view of a narrator, thinking about all of the animals.

♪ I am running just as fast as I can ♪ ♪ I am running as fast as I can ♪ ♪ No, you cannot catch me ♪ ♪ I'm as fast as can be ♪ ♪ I'm running just as fast as I can ♪ ♪ They all wanted to eat the gingerbread man ♪ ♪ They all wanted to eat the gingerbread man ♪ ♪ But he ran so very fast ♪ ♪ That they couldn't catch up ♪ ♪ Just the fox got to eat the gingerbread man ♪ Now we're going to tell the story.

If you're in lesson two, you should have your own story map.

But if not, you can use mine, which is on the screen.

I've got mine here and I'm going to be using that to help me tell the story.

I'm going to put my finger on the first picture as we start to tell the story.

Once upon a time, there was a little old lady and a little old man who lived together in a house.

One day, the little old lady said, "I'm going to bake a gingerbread man." She mixed and pressed and put the dough in the oven.

Then she heard a knocking from inside the oven.

She opened the door and out jumped the gingerbread man.

"Stop," said the little old lady.

"Run, run as fast as you can.

You can't catch me.

I'm the gingerbread man.

The old man can't catch me.

And you can't catch me." He ran and he ran until he came to a cat.

"Stop," said the cat.

"Run, run as fast as you can.

You can't catch me.

I'm the gingerbread man.

The old man can't catch me.

The old lady can't catch me.

And you can't catch me." He ran and he ran until he came to a dog.

"Stop," said the dog.

Run, run as fast as you can.

You can't catch me.

I'm the gingerbread man.

The old man can't catch me.

The old lady can't catch me.

The cat can't catch me.

And you can't catch me." He ran and he ran until he came to a.

Done that picture, done that picture done that picture.

Until he came to a moo, cow.

"Stop!" Run, run as fast as you can.

You can't catch me.

I'm the gingerbread man.

The old man can't catch me.

The old lady can't catch me.

The cat can't catch me.

The dog can't catch me.

And you can't catch me." He continued to run until he came to a river and a fox.

"Jump on my tail," said the Fox, "and I'll carry you over the river." The gingerbread man jumped on his tail.

"Jump on my back," said the Fox.

"I'm sinking into the water." And the gingerbread man jumped on his back.

"Jump on my head," said the Fox.

"I'm sinking into the water." And the gingerbread man jumped on his head.

"Jump on my nose," said the Fox, "I'm sinking into the water." And the gingerbread man jumped on his nose.

The fox shook his head and the gingerbread man flew up into the air and down into the fox's mouth.

And that was the end of the gingerbread man.

We're going to step the story.

I'm going to step each section and after I've stepped a section, you can pause your video and step it yourself.

Or you can join in with me.

Now you can't see my feet but I will be taking a step in between each part of the story.

I don't have lots of space here, so I'm going to be taking a step on the spot.

But if you have lots of space, you can move forwards with each section.

The Gingerbread Man.

Now I'm taking a step because I have done the actions for the first section.

You can pause the video now to do your section.

Now, we're going to write down how to do one of the actions and the action I'm going to write down is how the gingerbread man runs away.

So I'm going to write the word run.

Now when we're writing, we say the word, robot the word, write the word, say the word.

Run, run.

Let's robot the word.

Er, ah, en.

Run.

Now let's write the word.

Er, ah, en.

Let's check that.

Er, ah, en.

Run.

Now, can you write how to do one of your actions? You might write run, like I did, or you might choose to write something else.

Pause the video now to complete your task.

Thank you so much for your hard work today.

I've really enjoyed it and I hope I see you again in our next lesson.

Bye bye.
