Hello everyone, and welcome back to another lesson with me, Miss Sidenius.

Today, I'm really excited to be taking you, on a magical train ride and learning all about why people take trains.

We will start off today's lesson, by learning about why people take trains.

Then, we're going to find out about how people travel on trains.

And finally, we're going to go on our own train journey.

In this lesson, you're going to need three things.

Some paper, a pen, or a pencil, and, some teddies or toys to come with you on your train journey.

So, lots of you, will probably have been on a train before.

Where have you been on the train? Wow! I can hear so many exciting places like the beach, the country side, London, and to visit friends and family as well.

So we know that train journeys, can help us get from one place to another place.

These places are usually quite far apart, and we wouldn't be able to get there by walking.

Why wouldn't we be able to get there by walking? Tell your screen.

That's right.

It would take far too long to get there by walking, that's why people take the train.

So we know that people take trains because they are quick.

Can you think of some other reasons why people might take the train too? Use the pictures on this screen to help you.

Tell your screen.

I heard some really good ideas there.

Some of you said that the trains are cheap.

Getting on a train can be a lot cheaper than having a car and having to fill it up with petrol and take it to be fixed, if it gets broken.

So travelling by train can be a lot cheaper.

And, you can take lots of luggage with you on the train.

If you're walking, or if you're on a bike, you can't take lots of suitcases, it would just be too tricky.

But if you're on a train, you can take lots of bags and leave them in the luggage section.

And some of you said that being on a train, is nice and relaxing.

Can you show me you, relaxing in your seat? When you're on a train you can read a story while you're on the train, you can watch something, you can play games on a tablet or with your friends or your family.

Being on a train is relaxing.

But how do people get trains? You can't just walk on, there's barriers and things like that.

So how do people get trains? Have a think, and use the pictures on the screen to help you.

Tell your screen.

That's right.

People have to buy a ticket to get on the train.

And you need to make sure the ticket, is going to the right place.

You can ask somebody at the tickets office, to print a ticket for you.

So if I wanted to go to London, I could go up to the person in the ticket office and say, "Hello, one ticket to London, please." And they might say, "What time would you like to go?" Or, "What day would you like to go?" You have to make sure that the ticket is on the right day, and it's at the right time.

So, when you're buying your ticket, can you tell me what do you need to make sure? That's right, that it's on the right day, It's the right time, and it's going to the right place.

Well done.

Now, today, we're going to go on our own magical adventure.

But we need to buy a ticket before we go.

We can't get on the train without a ticket.

So I'd like you to have a think, where are you going to go on the train? You could go anywhere.

You could go to Lego land, you could go to the beach, you could go to the woods, have a think.

Where are you going to go? Tell your screen.

So many amazing places that we're going to visit today.

Some of you said, that you were going to go to the beach.

Some of you said, that you were going to go to the fun fair.

And some of you said, that you were going to take the train to the farm.

There were lots of other places as well, but they were just some of the ones that I heard.

Now remember, when we travel by train, it's really good because we can take a bag with us, and it's not too heavy because we can leave it on the train.

I've decided that my magical train journey, is going to take me to the beach.

So I'm going to pack a bag of things to take with me.

What do you think I need to take with me to the beach? Have a think.

Tell your screen.

That's right, so many good ideas.

Thank you for helping me.

I'm going to take some sun cream to the beach.

I'll put that in my bag.

I'm going to take a towel to the beach, in case I go swimming.

Put that in my bag.

Going to take some sunglasses in case it's a really hot day.

And I'm going to take a book that I can read at the beach.

Pack a bag for your magical destination, and come back when you're ready.

Great job everyone.

Now, we've got our bags ready to go, but what else do we need before we can get on the train? That's right, we need a ticket.

Now you might be going to a different magical destination, but remember I said, I was going to go to the beach.

So, I need to write on my ticket, beach.

/b/ /i/ /ch/, beach.

And I need to know what time I'm going as well.

I said I was going to go, I think I'll go in the afternoon.

I'll go at one, in the afternoon, Like that one And I'm going to go, today.

So I'm going to write, to-- day There we go.

I've got my ticket and I'm ready to go to the beach.

Buy your ticket to your magical destination and come back when you're ready.

Excellent job, well done everyone.

We're finally ready to go.

Get your teddies and get your bag, and say, bye bye.

Have fun on your magical adventure.
