Let's choose a room to base our sentences on.

Hmm.

Shall we write about the kitchen? or the bedroom? or the living room? I think I'd like us to write about the living room, but, what I'm going to do is I'm just going to start my sentence with, the room is, and that way it could be about any of the rooms and that's okay.

Because my descriptions are from my imagination.

They're ones that I have made up and you may have imagined slightly different settings for the three little bears cottage.

Maybe you imagined that their living room is really big, or maybe you don't imagine a living room at all.

Perhaps you thought the chairs were in the kitchen because it isn't made clear in the story.

We're just using our imaginations to think more about the settings.

So, how did I describe the living room in my song? I said the living room is small, the living room is dim, the living room is cosy.

Can you say those sentences with me? The living room is small.

The living room is dim.

The living room is cosy.

What do I mean when I say the living room is dim? Well, when I talk about something being dim, I mean that there's not very much light, so it's quite a dark room.

Can you choose a room to describe and say, the room is, and then think of some adjectives to describe it.

It could be one of the rooms from the story.

The room is, pause the video now while you say those sentences.

we're going to do some writing now.

we're going to write our description.

So my sentence was, the room is small.

The room is small.

When we're writing, we say the word, robot the word, write the word.

Let's say the word, the, can we robot it? No, it's one of our tricky words.

We just have to know it.

And I've actually put it at the bottom here for you, but because it's coming at the start by sentence, I will of course start with a capital letter.

The room.

Say the word room.

Let's robot it.

R OO M Room.

The room.

R OO How am I going to make that oo sound? That's right.

Two Os.

OO M.

The room is.

This another tricky word.

In fact, I should've put that on the bottom for you.

I'll do that when it's your time to write.

The room is small.

Small.

Say the word, small.

Robot the word.

S M ALL.

Small.

Let's write it.

S M How are we going to make that all sound? We're going to make it like this.

A L L makes all, for small.

The room is small.

Then need a full stop.

The room is small.

What's our next sentence.

You're going to write this one.

The room is dim.

The room is dim.

Now, it's your turn to write.

You're going to write the room is dim.

Now you might choose to finish your sentence there with a full stop and write the room is cosy afterwards.

Or if you want to write a longer sentence, you could write the room is dim and cosy.

The room is dim and cosy and I've put and on the screen for you to use.

The room is dim and cosy.

Pause the video now while you write that sentence, Thank you for writing with me today.

I hope you enjoyed it.

I'll see you next time.

Bye.

Bye.
